They didn't say where they took Tom and Theresa from. Initially I assumed that they must have all come from the same place, as the mother said, "if we can take one, why not more?" But that cannot be the case as they got caught when taking David Drew so they would have never gone back to the same place after that. Plus, we probably would have seen footage of Tom or Theresa at the same place as the others.
Maybe we are just supposed to guess that they took them from somewhere that wasn't looking after them? I mean - we have been shown that they didn't have malicious intent in taking the first two, she wanted to give them a good home. (Before she started shagging one of them) And we don't need to be shown everything - we can work some things out. Bit odd though.
I thought the biggest loose end was the Claire story, with her natural mother. It doesn't make any sense. She went into dodgy doings after leaving her new home, when she was older - not at the care home. Nothing to do with the guy driving the van, Claire wasn't anywhere near old enough to go out on the game at the care home. Did the mother assume as such, when Boyd et al told her that girls were being prostituted at the care home? Did they tell her that it was that guy doing it? I don't know. Shoddy.
I am VERY disappointed this season. In fact, I wasn't happy with last season either. I wasn't happy when they got rid of Stella, I liked her, though I am getting right fucked off with their liking for traumatised female coppers with a back story.
It used to be so well done. Good cases, you never worked out who had done it. These days it's all so obvious, and cheesy and the cases are in your face and scandalous.
The flashbacks are the worst bit of the new style. They started a few years ago and they have ruined everything.
