And they still piss around! Maybe people will start to get a real idea about how perhaps some of the students are in fact not vitims but the architects of their own downfall!

I won't have a bad word said about Mary - she's a star. She's posted here before - when we were discussing her Pompeii programme she joined in. And she wrote a very sweet article in the Guardian about doing this.

it's interesting this thing that both Andrew and Mary seem to have done of addressing the kids directly and talked about the process of getting them to be quiet, but will it work - even if the kids understand and theoretically agree that they should shut up, are they actually able to ?

I think Mary did very well so far, she clearly actually put some thought into what would get their attention rather than taking for granted that what she thinks is interesting would also interest them....

Why did the young mum get thrown out for the kiddy having chicken pox?

Would you expect both parents (mum and dad just as exposed to the bugs as each other after all) to be excluded from work by occy health or similar for a toddler having chicken pox? Surely those teens will have had it by now (or at least been exposed before) What about sibs in schools - one off all off?

Jennie, she was leaving her child with a childminder. Most CM's won't take mindees with chickenpox, so she had to stay off.

Guess her boyfriend either isn't the baby's father or couldn't take the baby.

I would think it was not because the child had chicken pox, but that she had no childcare other than the childminder, and obviously couldn't bring the baby into school.

But the reason she was given was that the drip of a headteacher couldn't risk the other teens. It seemed like she wasn't going to be let back in once the chile recovered either - just seemed ott.

if the tv company was committed to keeping her in they could have found her an emergency nanny. Of course most mums wouldn't want their sick child to be looked after by a stranger, but Jennie's right, that wasn't the reason given, the head said he couldn't risk it.
