We sent our forms back in April and the tracking is still saying 'awaiting documents' - DS is 17 in July so I am really hoping it will be here in time!

@themuttsnutts It now says processing from 6th July so if there is a way to escalate, I would.

themuttsnutts · 17/08/2021 14:20

Ah thanks

Bessiebigpants · 17/08/2021 14:56

My son who has been waiting since 01/06/21 just phoned to chase They said give it another week then resend a photo and the form Honestly the Dvla should be utterly ashamed of themselves and the government should have stepped in to fix this. Totally unacceptable that they should be allowed to cause such chaos

themuttsnutts · 17/08/2021 20:58

I tried to phone today but couldn't get through. I will try again tomorrow. Thanks.

foodledoff · 19/08/2021 14:30

Similar situation here. Applied online on 31st May, got letter saying we needed to send a photo (despite giving permission for them to access biometric passport/photo online) and sent this off 15th June. Have heard nothing since and tracking still says awaiting return of form.

To those saying they're phoning, please could you post the number - I can't find this anywhere on their website. Thanks

Really frustrating ...

themuttsnutts · 19/08/2021 14:41

I contacted them online in the end. They sent the form back to me yesterday as DDs passport has expired .

I did try the number but it just cuts me off, saying they're too busy. It's 03007906802

foodledoff · 19/08/2021 15:20

@themuttsnuts - thanks. Will give the number a go (but not holding out much hope of getting through). How did you contact them online?

themuttsnutts · 19/08/2021 15:50

Try here contact.dvla.gov.uk/email

foodledoff · 19/08/2021 17:35

Thanks!

TeenMinusTests · 26/08/2021 12:35

Are any coming through? They are apparently now processing the post from the week we sent DD's back ...

Bessiebigpants · 26/08/2021 15:21

Yesterday we got the second form back my fault I forgot to put the passport number on which suggests someone is opening mail at least

10outof10 · 27/08/2021 15:50

My daughters license arrived on Monday. We applied on May 23rd. Out having her first lesson now!

TeenMinusTests · 27/08/2021 15:54

So 10outof10 that is
a) more or less exactly 3 months
b) way later than the dates they are claiming on their website (4-5 weeks later)
Shocking.

Titsywoo · 27/08/2021 16:08

Did you get anywhere @foodledoff? I sent DDs form and picture back a month ago and tracking like yours says awaiting form.

Plummer88 · 01/09/2021 19:43

We did my daughters online last night and she’s already had an email today to say it’s been processed and will be here within 2 weeks!!

Plummer88 · 06/09/2021 23:15

And it’s here just under a week later! Very impressed.

TeenMinusTests · 22/09/2021 08:09

We applied online 2/7 sent back photo and signed form 12/7.
Have just checked online and it says .... license issued !

We only get 1 or 2 postal deliveries per week so let's see how long it takes to arrive.

whatisthisinhere · 22/09/2021 09:44

Wow, that is a long wait you had. I looked online and it says they're dealing with applications during the week of 9th August. DS's application is dated 12th August, so I was feeling quite hopeful. I guess it could be at least another month then.

eleflump · 22/09/2021 10:06

Update from us - we sent the request for the additional photo off on the 6th July and received the licence on Monday this week.

TeenMinusTests · 25/09/2021 10:29

License arrived in post yesterday, so timescales were:

  • apply online 2nd July
  • signature and photo returned 12th July
  • license received 24th September
Now need to find a car to learn in!
justasyouare · 28/09/2021 18:21

Applied online for twin sons on 1st July using passport info but then it said they needed more info so they sent a form which asked for a photo. Sent the same ones that are on their passports!
Both sent off together - DT1 9 weeks from sending, DT2 just shy of 11 weeks.
Dates working on seem to be a load of rubbish and the tracker doesn’t update until the licence is issued!

TeenMinusTests · 28/09/2021 18:41

Our problem now is finding a cheap enough pre-loved automatic to buy for DD to learn in. They are few and far between.

LynetteScavo · 28/09/2021 22:16

Thanks for the update @TeenMinusTests - that makes me think DDs licence won't be too long, although she's not 17 for a long time.

DH and I both have automatics atm, but are determined DD will learn with a gear stick (she won't find it easy, even though her brothers sailed through) but we've always been prepared to put a lot of effort into this, bless her Grin and no way are we letting her on a moped!

TeenMinusTests · 29/09/2021 08:41

Lynette As a matter of interest, why so keen for a manual if she won't find it easy?

DD1 has dyspraxia and we don't think would have managed with a manual, and we always said if it caused an issue she could 'convert' and retake test later.
DD2 also has motor skills issues, plus processing speed issues too so we decided to go with auto again.

Iamsodone · 29/09/2021 14:51

I have just check ours
it is showing as "issued" on the dvla website but we have not received it, can anyone advise please ?
thank you
