Anyone waiting for a provisional driving licence?

We sent our forms back in April and the tracking is still saying 'awaiting documents' - DS is 17 in July so I am really hoping it will be here in time!

Still waiting here but good to see others are getting theirs back, fingers crossed for DD it’s coming soon

Website has updated our application to be ‘complete’ - now we wait to see how long it takes to arrive……

Texted my friend and hers had the same update despite a three week gap between our applications so perhaps they are powering through them.

I don’t think I’ll believe it until it turns up!!

Their website says processing from 1st June now. (12 July update).

My son’s provisional licence arrived today . We returned the paper document on 15th May. It said something about a moped licence on the online form so I am very pleased to see that it is the correct provisional licence for a car. I am now off to try to book a theory test. Hope everyone else waiting gets theirs through soon.

Site now says 8th June so they have done a week in a week.

My son's replacement full license (he lost the original) applied for on 17th July arrived this morning. Meanwhile my daughter is still waiting from May 23rd for her provisional. It's so frustrating.

Not for a teen but I applied online for a provisional for myself on June 24th and the tracking has been stuck on in progress (or whatever the exact wording is) for the last few weeks.

Wow, that's such a long time. Back in February I'm sure it only took a couple of weeks.

Ours arrived!!! 28th April application arrived on July 16th!!!

Managed to get a theory one hour from home.

Hope everyone else’s comes soon.

Oh blimey OP!

I need to apply for DD's pronto as we've got lessons booked for after her birthday in September but after 2 year sof going nowhere I can't find her bloody passport to save myself.

Does anyone know if you can apply without?

We applied for my sons in January he turned 17 in may. Sent form saying we needed different photo which we sent. They then sent back a cheque to refund fee. Following day licence arrived 🤪

Mine’s just arrived, all done totally online so no forms needed to be sent off and it’s taken just over 5 weeks.

Ordered a provisional license online on 1 April and still haven’t received it. Chased in June and received an email saying that they have a huge backlog and are trying to clear it as quickly as they can. I hope it comes in time for his lessons in November!

Just checking with everyone here since you are experienced but when you send back the form with the passport photo you have to send your actual passport too right (or another form of ID)? That's what it seems to say but noone else has mentioned it so a bit confused!

Sorry I don’t know as I did the whole application online and when I added the passport number it checked it and used that photo for the driving licence.

If you apply online using biometric passport then they request extra photo So there is no need to send passport. My girls applied in January this way and sent photos on the form they send and they were issued no problem I’m still waiting on my sons which we applied for 02/06/21 it’s stuck on waiting for return of form and has been for weeks he had to send a second photo

Titsy We applied online and gave passport number. Then received a form to sign and just send back an up to date passport photo. No need to send actual passport.
