Lots of fabulous shopping going on here

Thanks all for support after yesterday's debacle at school. It is sports day today........am considering entering the Mums Race for a laugh......am going for the "it's not the winning, its the taking part" angle Will be wearing an Odabash jersey strapless dress (loose fit so corset not visible) and gold glads. It will give the chavvy mums something to bitch about!

I am very excited at my first post TT bikini purchase. I know it's not cool but.........I saw a picture of Coleen Rooney and thought her bikini was fab. Assumed it was designer and spent hours trawling sites to identify. Finally found it when I gave up looking...........at River Island!! So not only is it gorge but it is also bargainous. Won't link to RI site as tis total 'mare but it is this one.

TB enjoy your relaxed morning & coffee.

LTEC - love that second belt you linked to. I am looking for a brown belt too after seeing so many jeans' style belts wrapped around t-shirt dresses lately. Love that look.

FritziGreenEyes · 09/07/2010 08:40

Feel totally exhausted after long drive last night. Glad I could be with my friend and family and support them at the funeral yesterday.

Thanks for posting so avidly. Will dedicate the morning to putting my feet up and checking out all your links

Tulpe There are some stats about fathers ending up in Casualty/Paramemedics after Sports Day! That is funny! I can imagine them - 'Haven't walked to the shop since a child but must win the race' Hence the injuries!

So pleased re your tummy tuck too.

FritziGreenEyes · 09/07/2010 08:53

tulpe - Have shopped with Vente Privee and it always takes them ages to dispatch your order. Also returning stuff is a nightmare as I had to order the return label which was then delivered by post . Your sports day outfit sounds great. I think you should complement it with your DH's car! Hope you find a better school for your DS.

LetThemEatCake · 09/07/2010 09:04

Sports Day here today too. Am so entering the Mums' Race. Am so going to win.

What shall I wear that is both stylish and race-appropriate??

Fritz - I'm sorry I didn't realise funeral yesterday. So sad. Hope you are okay and not too wiped out.

Tulpe - go get 'em!!!

tracey - enjoy!!

LTEC Dress and pumps. No need for water bottle/heart rate monitor.

FritziGreenEyes · 09/07/2010 09:14

tracey - Enjoy your well-deserved break!

OWW - Phew, I'm glad Germany didn't get through to the World Cup Final. Now we can support the Dutch side of our family without causing any tensions!

LTEC - It's lovely that you look after your mum and encourage her to wear heels again. Great links!

everything - Enjoy the wedding. I like the bra you linked to.

abo - Great haul from Asos. Love the sandals!

roary - Lovely bikini!

roma - Hope things at work will improve.

tracey - Thought of you yesterday.

mm - Have you decided on the Tate outfit yet? Probably best to wear something you feel confident in.

fleecy - Hope you are recovering from your procedure yesterday.

Absolutely gorgeous bag esher!

notyummy · 09/07/2010 09:38

LTEC - Funky shirts and a vest top. Lovely accessories. Trainers and sweat band on handbag, just for the comedy value of seeing other mums faces when you pull them out!

everything enjoy the wedding.

esher nice bag.

notyummy · 09/07/2010 09:39

Funky shorts !!

LetThemEatCake · 09/07/2010 09:40

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 09/07/2010 09:40

LTEC You don't want to ^look* as if you are trying though....

hf128219 · 09/07/2010 09:44

look

blossoming · 09/07/2010 09:50

Morning all. Damp and muggy here.
I hope it doesn't ruin sports day. On that note, hope you kick ass in yours ltec!
No parents race here, unfortunately. Competitive, moi?! Was shredding at 6am as will be in the races tonight. Will be wearing skinnies and zara blazer with pewter flats. Chic, no? Top tbd.
We're going for early dinner in piccolino, Italian restaurant first. Quite stylish.

Am about to eBay my Paige skinnies. Really pleased they're way too big but quite attached as they were one of my first w&a purchases and were significant to my new found confidence and style.

And just as I get comfy, they're moving the goalposts and bringing back bootleg!!

tulpe, your meeting yesterday sounded very distressing. I live in a two primary town and know that dc1 is going to be in the same class as the 'firestarter' (not joking) till he's 16. I need to show him strategies how to cope, but you'd rather everyone was well behaved.

traceybath · 09/07/2010 09:50

Just don't forget your sports bra - lordy there were some very uncontained boobs in mum's race a few weeks back

AllBuggiedOut · 09/07/2010 09:52

mm I saw these and thought of you...

AllBuggiedOut · 09/07/2010 09:58

Enjoy your sports days ladies. Lovely and sunny here, and got 3 compliments on the school run this morning (Desigual skirt, zara vest and some summery moshulu wedges from last year)

notyummy · 09/07/2010 11:34

Yes, good luck with sports days.

Poor DH just had to put up with obnoxious woman at DDs nursery. She doesn't usuaully go on a Friday, but the nursery had asked all the children who are leaving to come along for a photo so DH took her to that, followed by a 'Teddy Bear's Picnic' at her new school to allow children to meet each other.

At nursery DH was chatting to one of the other mums whose son will be going to the same primary as DD. She was telling him the size of the intake (28 in each class; 2 classes with a teacher and TA in each class.) It is the nearest school to us, literally just round the corner and has a good reputation, and nice facilities, so we had always assumed she would go there. Another mum butted in, saying that she would be 'really worried at the size of that intake' and how 'glad she was that she is a catholic, as Our Lady's only has 15-20 per class and it makes SUCH a difference. I have 3 you know, so I do know about these things - and my husband is in the forces so we are lucky enough to use the boarding school option later.'

I mean WTF??

You might think those things, but WHY would you say them out loud?

eshermummy · 09/07/2010 12:49

sorry just rushing in to say MM have posted a few ideas on your killer shoes thread.

hi to everyone, hope you are enjoying the sun, scorchio here and off to get dd2 from nursery in 5 mins

will try and get on tonight for proper catch up/convo

mwah mwah darlings

FritziGreenEyes · 09/07/2010 13:01

notyummy - I'm often surprised how many people seem to say out loud whatever crosses their stupid minds. I personally would never send DD to a Catholic school but if someone told me that this was the choice for their DC I would never offer my opinion without being asked. I'm sure your DD will be happy at her school!

abo - Your outfit sounds great. So nice to get compliments. I'm in shorts and vest today. Tried to add some style with these studded gladiators. DD thinks they're great.

bloss - I feel the same about the return of the bootcut as I only got confident enough to wear skinnies this spring.

carciofi · 09/07/2010 13:37

Fritzi, very cool shoes.

LTEC, make sure you beat that awful mum at the very least!

I am not giving up my skinny jeans, no way never!

Blossoming, do your jeans sell well on eBay? Last time I sold a pair of jeans, I got £5 and I decided I'd give them to the charity shop in future. Oh and I think you should wear the Blossoming top. Have fun tonight.

Everything, enjoy the wedding.

Roary and OWW, like the M&S purchases.

I was thinking of getting these Hush cargo pants in navy or khaki, yes or no??

AllBuggiedOut · 09/07/2010 13:57

People get very defensive about their choices of school too - and feel the need to justify what they are doing. A part of which is always to knock the alternatives to make themselves feel better. There are two pre-schools in our village and there's endless slagging off of one by those that chose the other. As you say notyummy, I wish people would make their decisions, seek advice from others if they want to, but please keep their reasons to themselves unless asked!

Your outfit sounds lovely bloss.

Fritzi how are you getting on with your colours?

Does anybody exercise in public? My tap class has finished for the summer, and I'm thinking of trying jazercise (sp?). But at home I shred in ancient cropped top and cycling shorts which I would not be seen dead in out of the house! what should I wear to (a) not get too hot and (b) hold my wobbly tum in place?

hellsbelles · 09/07/2010 14:05

good luck in those races ladies....I'm sure you'll rush by in a blur of beauty leaving the other mothers wondering what's hit them.

I'm too hung over to catch up and have lot of washing to do in holiday prep. However I am very thrilled with some DIY I've just done. I cut up a pair of old jeans and I think they look very like jbrand ones that cost a bomb (can't link - not sure why). Hurrah.

bunnymother · 09/07/2010 14:08

Run Cakey run! Hope you don't mind, but have ordered the ASOS bangle, as its so charming and think it will amuse DD (have you taken parenthood too far when you accessorise to amuse your child/ren?). Have also ordered a navy dress that had "saved" a few weeks ago as well as, gulp, an enamel cupcake pendant necklace (way too far?). May have to return that necklace.

Tracey - a sports bra should be mandatory for any sort of sport.

Notyummy - what Fritzi said re the school comment.

I'm sorry MM, but I have no idea how selfridges could have possibly justified snatching something from your hands. I don't actually like shopping there (I hear you gasp, ladies!!), as find it far too confusing. If you throw rude staff into the mix, that could be the end of it for me.

traceybath · 09/07/2010 14:10

Tulpe - I love that green bikini - well done on locating it - I too had assumed it was designer.

In-laws have just left so bit of tidying up to do and then sitting in garden watching boys play football/cricket.

NY - I totally agree with ABO - people think your choices re. eductaion are a comment on their choices which they're not. Gosh - you only have to look at any of the state v private threads on here to see how strongly people feel [scared emoticon].
