Roary - John Lewis has that lovely FC dress in stock and free delivery as order over 30 pounds. Hurry cos low stock tho!

here

FritziGreenEyes · 17/07/2010 15:29

bloss - Your haircut sounds great! Glad you are having a nice time in London. Just googled the DvF dress and it's so gorgeous. Love the purple.

OWW - Birthday arrangements for DS sound fab. I'm a bunting lover too. Even make it myself

libra - Would also rather get a regular big enough bag and chuck everything in. I'm not that into black bags. How about grey instead? Might work for summer and winter. Or this? I also love brontibay bags but don't know where you can buy them in the UK or if available online.

blossoming · 17/07/2010 16:47

That teddy went straight in the bin libra!

My hair is a bit Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction! I've even got the rouge noir!!

So if I got the dress, I'd need the lkbennett sledge shoes in steel grey which I've lusted after for ages. (Sorry not linking as am in Euston). Another £150 and no party as we just had the christening, so just me and dh. Annoyed, moi?!

Just had my upper lip threaded for the first time. I thought what the hell, the woman next to me was having her chin done!!

Zembo · 17/07/2010 16:48

CHOO DON'T COLLECT YOUR VW DRESS FROM THE DRY CLEANERS!!!! I think Tracey was planning to wear the same

CHOOGIRL · 17/07/2010 16:54

It's OK Zembo - tis a different VWA in black which I've had for a while. Right am leaving now. Will try and post when I arrive.

blossoming · 17/07/2010 17:19

eshermummy · 17/07/2010 18:00

RedBlueRed · 17/07/2010 21:10

Just read back a bit and realise I have not answered some questions.

I start my new job on Monday. I'm excited and nervous at the same time.

I'm going to play it safe and wear my business suit until I suss out the norm but from what I saw I suspect its going to be a fairly trendy office.

Tracey I used to do a fair bit of mountain biking but not so much since DS. He is now getting more competent on his bike though so perhaps we will get out together.
It is more fun to do than to talk about so I'm not surprised your eyes glazed!

roary · 17/07/2010 21:12

oww I love you!! You are a genius. Have ordered. Isn't it the best?

Meetup updates please!! I hope you are all wearing nametags with mumsnet names on

ReineDeSaba · 17/07/2010 21:18

Very pretty dress roary..hope you managed to order AND it's bf friendly..all good..

blossoming..looking forward to links to all your london purchases..will you be putting piccie of new haircut onto profile?..sounds absolutely fab..I think that dvf dress is lush..the purple would really suit you I imagine..you HAVE to get it..

i have raised a glass of the fizzy stuff to the beautiful a and w ladies meeting tonight so a bit too squiffy to post more(once you have kids it really does put a dent in your ability to hold your booze..)

notyummy · 17/07/2010 21:21

Hope you are all having a fabulous time!

Am shattered after house invaded by 11 four year olds plus various siblings and parents. All went well ( mostly... DD found it a bit much and at one point we had to send her upstairs to calm down because she was being hideous to the other kids. Even at your birthday party, you don't get away with out and out nastiness young lady!! [Evil mummy emoticon])

Yes, updates please you cocktail drinking lovelies!

ReineDeSaba · 17/07/2010 21:33

Well done for getting through it yummy..I find toddlers often get overwhelmed at their own birthday parties..I would have played it in exactly the same way, birthday smirthday..I'm sure that princess cake went down a total storm...

I read Zest magazine at my daughter's swim school on friday and thought of you.I would never have read anything about exercise/nutrition before this thread and preshred but I (gasp!)am planning on running and I feel I have you to thank personally for the fact I have a gap between my thighs again(sorry that sounds kind of gross)but I mean you are my fitness mentor(in my head,of course)

On my way home too, fab evening, everyone lovely and very gorgeous!
On a slightly less lovely note, have just had to move seats on train as was sat next to greasy haired old person who kept dropping off and putting their head on
y shoulder yeuch

traceybath · 18/07/2010 01:40

Lovely day and meet up but have only just got home as train cancelled so had to wait over an hour for another one.

Then surrounded by drunks so did my best stern looks to stop anyone sitting next to me.

Right bed for me

blossoming · 18/07/2010 06:55

Glad the meet up was a success. Grim tales of late night trains though. Glad you're ok traceyb.

I got home in 3 hrs flat. That is a record. Very lucky to have fast trains to Chester. I remember having nightmare journeys home from London to Cardiff too traceyb.

I bought a couple of things from Jigsaw. The Gant dress didn't suit me. Then I tried on some sunglasses, looked at the price tag, saw £820, thought, how typical of me and my expensive tastes, looked again and they were £82.00. What a bargain. They suited my new hair. My exxy Dior ones with prescription lenses for driving that I bought last year don't suit the fringe. Anyway these are Ralph ones.
Kew was disappointing, but always is I find.

When I came home I was on best behaviour, no iPhone, tv off, trying to work my charms on dh!

Glad the party went well notyummy. Hope we can see pics of the cake.

What are we doing today? Can you beat my Sunday school trip to a farm park in Shropshire? What to wear in the pouring rain. Tempted to wear my heeled R&B boots with jeggings. At leat my bottom half will be glam! I've been there before. It's actually better suited to wet weather with most activities in converted barns. So off to make sandwiches. (Thud) as I fall back to reality, dreaming of the bright lights..

OllieWollieWoo · 18/07/2010 08:17

Roary - thats great you got the dress. V pleased for you. Hope its as lovely in RL! Blossoming glad you got something nice - as well as the haircut that is! Sunglasses sound a good find. Have a nice trip.

Glad the meet up was a success.

Sunny here so will get on the bikes and cycle along the river this morning. DH and his best mate are taking DSs to a new car museum thats just opened. Think DH and mate are more excited than DSss! I get to clear out the dumping ground attic and start packing for our trip to England next WE.

Anyone going to try and talk to Gok tomorrow evening on the webchat???

FritziGreenEyes · 18/07/2010 11:19

Hope everybody got home safe after meet up. Glad you all had a fab night out. Waiting for outfit details! Patience has never been one of my strengths .

Went to a jazz bar with DH last night. Wore this jumpsuit which I reordered after I had sent it back in May. Felt great and it is so comfortable. Also bought a reduced black silk dress from Boss yesterday. It has ostrich feathers round the v-neck and is lovely. Sorry can't find any pics online to link.

Love that dress roary. Well done OWW for finding it so quickly!

bloss - You should wear your new sunglasses despite the rain! Is summer always like that where you live? Glad your trip to London was a success.

ApuskiDusky · 18/07/2010 12:28

Glad to hear you all enjoyed the meet-up! And it sounds like you had a productive trip, blossoming. I'm not doing much today, recovering from in-laws' visit yesterday - spending most of the day trying not to throw a strop and grab A from being passed around everyone for lengthy cuddles when he really needed feeding, and trying not to be overprotective when 5yo DN was keen on holding him herself as much as she could.

The midwife finally turned up yesterday, and A has put on a little weight, so that was good news but we're not out of the woods yet. Reweighing and jaundice tests on Tuesday, to be reported back to the paediatrician.
