ABO - is it midi? And are you already channelling AW

DolceeBanana · 16/07/2010 14:29

Oh MM - pesky mice! Get the humane boxes and pop a mouse pellet inside...doom laden, or else they end up popping their clogs behind a radiator or something if you just set traps. Shameful and not in the least bit humane, but after a while of cohabiting with the things, this usually gentle soul was pushed to being the Terminator!!!

I love bonpoint too Tracey...very classic...My 3 year old tends to wear a mixture of classic and very modern together...and it looks sweet...

VerityBrulee - I do love your name! We have skylights too in our bedroom, wasn't it noisy!!!?

Well, stressy morning...at toddlers....DS had massive strop before we went...refusing to put on shoes, refusing to wear a cardigan, shouting and generally bein g painful...was struggling with this, turned around and DD (almost3) had stripped most of her clothes off....then baby started hysterically screaming...she'd fallen in her cot and just managed to catch her lip on a wooden triangle toy!!! How?...I dunno....

Arrived a little tardy only to have smug mummy question how I would ever manage to get to school on time in the mornings!!! No comment....unprintable!

Anyway, others are lovely and more than made up for this baggage. Why can't some women keep their gobs shut? Moving on......

ApuskiDusky · 16/07/2010 16:27

Well at 4.15 it looks like the midwife isn't going to come today after all, so no weigh-in today! The follow on midwife care has been a joke really, all because my own community midwife is on holiday. I have decided not to chase them up as it will give us another couple of days to feed up A before he is weighed and so more chance to avoid 'failure to thrive'. But I have spent all day waiting!

Love the sound of all the baking going on today, I have to content myself with my first ever Ocado shop, complete with the odd treat.

MM, had to smile at the mice, though I am also v sympathetic, I had ongoing battles with them in my student house. I used to use cheap wooden traps, then throw the mouse and trap away each time because I couldn't bear to take them out! Ugh!

blossoming · 16/07/2010 16:33

How annoying apuski. Hope you're feeling okay.

dolcee, wtf is wrong with some people??

Baby just started self feeding and had a bonne maman jam tart from France! Adorable jammy face!!

DolceeBanana · 16/07/2010 17:12

Aww Blossoming, so sweet! Baby has good tatse!

Apuski - Midwifery follow on care is not great, imo. Had similar things...but with me needing check ups (after infections)...and midwives just didn't turn up! No excuse in your case...best of luck when A gets the weigh in

Bunny - hope all went well today and so excited for you!

RedBlueRed · 16/07/2010 17:36

Does anyone have a Dorothy P code? - saw some shoes I must get.

blossoming · 16/07/2010 17:56

Those of us who like dresses, isn't this lovely. Why haven't I seen it before all the sizes sold out?

bunnymother · 16/07/2010 18:02

Just found out this afternoon that am having identical twins. Am pretty shocked and upset (DH is thrilled and is focusing on the positives), but am assuming will get used to the idea. Babies look healthy and well sized (turns out I am almost 18 weeks, so something went wrong w the old monthly cycle...), but identical twins means this is a high risk pregnancy. Naturally I burst into tears, then went to Westfield. Anyway, have to run and Google what the devil this means before DD's dinner...

blossoming · 16/07/2010 18:06

Oh, bunnymother, that's just lovely news. Of course it must be a huge shock to you. I have two sets of identical twins in my family.
No wonder you said you look big!!

RedBlueRed · 16/07/2010 18:08

Oooh Hooohoohoo I am on a shoe-shopping high.

Have this pm been getting a few things done in Rochdale at the Bank etc. Was rushing up the high street to get back to my car and home in time for DS to get in from school when my head was very nearly ripped from my shoulders by the swivel action of seeing a pair of omgihavetohavethem shoes in the window of DP. I wobbled precariously atop my 5'8.5" clogs before about-turning, dashing inside long enough to touch them and smell them (Yes, I know ) and have just bought them... here
They are going to look fabulous on holiday with my jeans, shorts or even dresses.

Ohhh I love shoes.

RedBlueRed · 16/07/2010 18:10

TWINS! Oh my goodness!

You will get used to the idea, its just a very big surprise right now is all.

How fabulous! Congratulations!

carciofi · 16/07/2010 18:10

Wow bunnymother, congratulations, what a surprise!

Have fun tomorrow night, all of you meeting up.

ApuskiDusky · 16/07/2010 18:21

Bunny, wow, congratulations! But I can see how it would take some getting used to!

traceybath · 16/07/2010 18:41

Bunny - wow - how exciting but I probably would have burst into tears too You only said the other day that your DH would love twins!

My friend has similar gap and found out at her 20 week scan it was twins and its fab. Bit hard at first but her girls are such a little gang and all incredibly easy-going.

I am soooo excited for you

Oh and have just been trying on stuff and am wearing my viv dressed down with denim jacket, wedges (that am not sure go) and a massive bruise on my leg - oh yes - tres chic

I am soooo behind on this thread. Apologies all round and I will attempt to catch up with all 18 pages that I've missed......

In the meantime, have a great time tomorrow ladies. I am sure you will all look fabulous Will there be photos on profiles afterwards so we can admire your collective gorgeousness?

Today I have graduated from hospital-sponsored corset to huge knickers It's very strange to be in semi-regular underwear again after 4 weeks of the ultra-thick tubigrip type affair. Managed to find a whole host of support knickers in TK Maxx yesterday - £4.99 per pair so v bargainous. They are all Berlei, Flexees and Bodyfit so good makes as far as I am aware. Saw the surgeon yesterday and he is very pleased with progress. Am healing very well and am very excited that a good 6cm of the scar is barely noticeable already

RI bikini arrived (the one Colleen modelled so beautifully ) It is gorgeous. The perfect shade of green. It is to make its debut in January when I will be celebrating my 40th in the Maldives

In other clothing related news........am desperately in love with the caramel and camel shades for AW. I am hoping to find a fab chunky knit cardigan in that kind of colour to wear with skinnies instead of a jacket. I've seen a few things but they are all acrylic .

MarshaBrady · 16/07/2010 18:54

Bunny wow! congratulations! My friend burst into tears too when she found out about twins. I hope it will feel better soon. Congrats!

Am going out (very close so can do bf runs) and feel like I have nothing to wear humph.

tulpe · 16/07/2010 18:58

oh and congratulations bunnymother Must have been a huge shock, I am sure. But give yourself time to adjust.

Apuski - hope A is successful in his weight gain this weekend. Sounds a real PITA with the midwife arrangements.

Dolcee ignore the silly bint re: how will you make it to school on time crap. It's just plain rude and I don't understand what makes that kind of person think that it is okay to say these kinds of things.

tulpe · 16/07/2010 19:00

Marsha have a lovely evening. Tis horrid when you have those moments of looking in wardrobe and feeling like you have nothing to wear. Go do your hair and make up first and then come back to the wardrobe

traceybath · 16/07/2010 19:04

Tulpe - yeay for the bikini and your new and improved bikini body

Not sure about profile pictures - I don't mind facebook but don't want to be that identifiable on here really.

Marsha - you will look stunning in whatever you wear. Did I read correctly earlier that your lovely suede shoes are a size too big?

monkeysmama · 16/07/2010 19:21

Bunny I know it isn't very MN (nor me) but I wanted to give you a hug after reading your post. It is indeed lovely happy news. It must also be a big shock. I have no sage advice to offer but hope you feel sunny about it soon.

Zembo · 16/07/2010 19:36

Oooohhhh Bunny that is amazing news! I understand it must be a huge shock but as others have said, hope you'll come round to how special it is very soon. The thought of creating multiple lives at once is absolutely wonderful . You'll have loads of scans and attention..The thought of it all makes me feel all tingley!!!

Notyummy the rasberry dress arrived today - its lovely - thank you! Very very bargainous (esp when I compare it to the as yet unworn VW dress hanging next to it in my wardrobe). And, good luck for the party tomorrow. We're celebrating next weekend and I've yet to sort out whats happening, cake etc..wish my DH was as talented as yours.

Tracey why are you feeling fat ? You weigh less than me so I think you must look fabulous..and you must be a size 6 in everything. I'm finding 8 too big in most things.

Apuski hope the feeding is getting better? Midwives are a bit thin on the ground.

traceybath · 16/07/2010 19:43

Zembo - have put on a couple of pounds which makes a big difference with me.

Whose birthday is it next week zembo? Bea is one on friday and have DH's family coming for weekend and she's just started walking - only a few steps but boys very over-excited.

MarshaBrady · 16/07/2010 19:44

Thanks Tulpe and TraceyB

I think it's because I was woken so many times last night and I feel a bit hot and very tired. Have had a shower, going to change again as grey dress not right and have a glass of wine.

The suede shoes were only left in an 8, sometimes I am a 41 (used to be a 39/40) so thought I'd give it a whirl. They have insoles in and are a bit gappy at the back but just about fit after a hot day and glass of wine so I kept them!

DolceeBanana · 16/07/2010 19:57

Thanks Blossoming and Tulpe!

Bunny - oh, it's wonderful news...a really special gift...we tend to get what we can deal with in life, I firmly believe, and tho' you may naturally be full of questions and concerns now, you will handle it all beautifully

You must rest and look after you as much as possible...I have a friend who had twins after her first with a 18 months gap and she thinks it is wonderful.

Tracey - DSs birthday is next Thursday , and I have MIL coming to stay for a couple of days as we have a party on Sat.

Marsha - hope you feel better
