Oh, good news the mastitis is clearing up roary. I found breastfeeding really hard (it hurt almost as much as labour and I was v emotionally upset when it didn't work out) so am always in awe of mothers who breastfeed, as it never sounds easy. But its such an impressive feat to nourish your baby like that.

Tracey - you won't know yourself if you get a full night's sleep, will you?! Keep it up baby Bea!

reine - thanks for the congratulations!! I just need to work on being less surly to poor DH.

Best W&A purchase/s? How about TopShop Martha jeans, Uniqlo zebra scarf and Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless Bra? Also, getting the thumbs down kept me from digital print scarf disaster and thumbs up confirmed that my gold strappy shoes are lovely.

Oh no - re October meet up we are off to Australia for our first trip back in 3.5 years, and we fly out end Sept and arrive back on 16 Oct. Any chance a later weekend in October works? If not, I can just ask the bar to prop up a cardboard cut out of a v rotund person and you can pretend its me.

bunnymother · 15/07/2010 13:24

Oh, and poor you Everything - the screaming is really wearing isn't it?! Just leaves your nerves jangling and you dying for 1 hour's peace.

blossoming · 15/07/2010 13:40

I have similar views to you re breastfeeding bunnymother. I managed a month with dc1 till mastitis and a tummy bug put paid to it. Not an easy thing to admit on MN!!

traceybath · 15/07/2010 13:44

I am all of a quandary as to what to wear on saturday - honestly - its more pressure than a hot date with George Clooney

eshermummy · 15/07/2010 13:49

just back from health assessment at gym. Feeling sooo fat as was weighed and am 7lbs heavier than a few months ago, aaaagh.
All my jeans are decidedly tight (got a pair on now that are both uncomfortable and unflattering, nice). I mean, I know I am not porky as such but I really don't want to buy bigger clothes so I will have to go on a diet which I am totally rubbish at.
should really have stayed at gym after assessment and done workout but was too tired and bleurgh after night out last night which turned into a slightly bigger night than I was anticipating so will try and go tomorrow.

Might have to order some shoes on ASOS to cheer myself up.

Also had a physio asssessment in which i was told I have shocking posture, no core stability, a misaligned pelvis and numerous other problems!!

Apuski - hope you are taking it easy and Alexander is feeding better.

Everything - I sympathise, my two g=have done nothing but scream every afternoon this week from pick-up to bedtime. So wearing.

God, I don't know what I would class as my best W&A purchase - will have to think. I am crazily in love with my new handbag although I haven't actually taken it out/used it yet, only admired (and stroked) it.

I was going to wear a dress for Saturday's meet-up but it is cold (and wet) here today so rapidly going off that idea......but all my jeans are too tight, waaaaaaaaaaaaaah

LetThemEatCake · 15/07/2010 14:00

apuski hope you are getting enough rest
roary glad the mastitis is clearing up
tracey hurrah for Bea. L nowhere near as amenable. Only bfing 1-2 times a day now but a few times throughout the night. Ah wll, at least my wardrobe restrictions are gradually being lifted
best A&W buy - this pink MJ bag which iirc was also coveted by hells and tracey - it appears to be back in stock, argh, hells is on hols!!!

After forgetting that I'd bought it I discovered it in my wardrobe and have rarely been parted from it since. Except for today, when I am using the grey Oushka Oakley which, yes libra does make a fab nappy bag.

today wearing grey skinnies, black Vero Moda cowl neck tunic thing and pink Blochs (hence no pink MJ bag ) Feels odd to be wearing jeans again after weeks in dresses. Come back sun!

had an unexpected but completely lovely meal out with dh last night (wore bone-coloured short dress as legs are dark brown after weeks of sun, Antik Batik beaded sandals and ASOS owl necklace - mm do you like yours??) plus old faithful denim jacket. Ate with gay abandon and was up at 6am this morning to run it off, mindful of meet-up! zembo I second mm, wish you were coming, you are one of my dearest imaginary friends

ooh...picked up a great, supportive strapless John Lewis bra yesterday...with various straps so can be worn in a variety of ways, for £20.00. Bargain! ...and excellent quality...just like the Wonderbra but cups neater, imo.

I laugh that the bra is padded, as never used to have the need...but now, well.....

Tracey - we are lucky in that the other grandchildren in our family are aged 9 - 21...so no competition, thankfully, as they are all at totally different stages. Although according to my Mother my Nephew is the next DB! He's 8. He is v good looking, and good at football though, (although I am totally biased, of course), so who knows? He is also the nicest little man, so he will go far I'm sure.

Cake - glad you had a lovely impromptu meal with Mr C. Sometimes nicer that way isn't it? I love being spontaneous, not always easy when you've got 3 under 4, so lucky you guys...

everything - so sorry that you've been up all night! Poor you...it's exhausting...hopefully baby will sleep well tonight and you can have a good night too!

Update from my man off on his weekend away...the Bride-to-be has been v poorly, in hospital in fact with a gastric virus...back home now, poor thing. Does the husband-to- be cancel/at the very least delay his weekend, noooooo, does he hell. My dh fully expected this to be the case, but no, all still on. Of course he can't cancel the other guys, I understand, but surely you'd delay your own arrival in the circumstances. My DH shocked.....blimey! Sorry, just find it a bit galling, so apologise for being Mrs Judgey!!!!

notyummy · 15/07/2010 15:06

LTEC!!!!!

Just looked at Heat (I know, I know...)

P83 - Pic of Zoe Saldana. It is YOU, I swear. Separated at birth.

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 15:20

I really like this to wear with flat glads - a lovely easy dress

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 15:22

I'd change the buttons tho'.

monkeysmama · 15/07/2010 15:32

Ciao belle

PIL just gone home from their weekly visit. They babysat last night and spent the day here which was actually quite nice.

I decided not to go to the thing at the Tate. I was feeling so stressed about it and seeing all the old work people that I took the rather empowering decision to put that behind myself and not to go. Dp went (we met at work) and had fun. I took my mamma out for dinner instead . 'Twas lovely. We never see each other without dd and as we'd already arranged for pil to babysit I thought it was a perfect opportunity. It was so nice. I feel all happy when I am thinking about it today.

Waiting for a few deliveries today - I get daily deliveries atm . These and a few more asos bits including the shoes everyone preferred.

Cakey I love the owl necklace and wore a v similar outfit to you last night. Owl necklace, denim jacket over a grey silk dress and glads.

I'm in jeans today and it does indeed feel odd after summer clothes for so long now . I have a Zara black and white tshirt with a monkey on and a River Island white sweatshirt with black stripes and some red writing on top. Really not my usual style but something about it works and I really like it. I feel a bit like I should be on Fame which is always a good thing.

I too have no idea what to wear on Saturday. I imagine I'll try everything I own on and will settle on my Zara leopard print mini shift dress. I usually do though the fact I can't sit down in it that easily as it is so short isn't helpful.

I can make those October dates. EIE made me smile.

My best A&W purchase is probably the snakeskin Reiss dress Tracey found for me. I think I'll have it for years. I like the pink Blochs too. Oh, and the Wonderbra which I wear loads.

I got the silver Reiss dress taken in and it fits perfectly. I didn't realise how easy it was to do (get done) so might alter some other things now too.

Dd is finally having her morning nap so am going to grab half hour on the sofa myself.

Book club tonight and am irritated my house is still a mess. I wanted to show off.

traceybath · 15/07/2010 17:07

Need to also see when Hells can do as know she's really keen to meet

Does anyone who has topshop baxters find they really shrink - I tumble-dry (I know mea culpa) and they really do shrink I'm sure.

Esher - I'm sure you are tiny and if you were weighed in the middle of the day fully clothed - well thats probably at least 3lbs more than stark-naked first thing which we all know is the true weight

MM - I too am loving getting things altered - need to take 3 dresses and a jacket along tomorrow.

EIE - sleep deprivation aaggh! Of course Bea knew I was smug yesterday so made up for it last night.

Dolcee - like that dress.

LOL at Reine's doll

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 17:18

Like those Kurt Geiger shoes MM!

Yes, in jeans here too! Slightly peeved cos I managed to get quite tanned on hols and cannot show off! Covered in cowl neck breton and white cropped cardi! Oh, pray for the sunshine.

Glad you had a nice time with your 'mama'...saw mine today, and managed to have some time alone which was lovely to catch up as we've been away and missed her. I think I'm going to get her up to Calcot Spa with me to spend a day pampering. Think she'd love it!

Have had a lovely time this afternoon whilst older ones watched a DVD and baby napped started to paint a holiday inspired canvas for a surprise for my DHs birthday...I know he'll really appreciate it. Well, hopefully...plan to do more this weekend while he's away...

My best A&W buys: Ash low tops and surprisingly gorgeous Matalan halter neck top(thanks, Cake); leopard ballets (thanks, Carciofi); VW dress (thanks Hells); White Company stitch linen dress (thanks moi!)...

I am sure your house is so not a mess MM....quick tidy, fresh flowers, good nibbles and Prosecco and everyone will be cooing over your fabulous sounding kitchen...

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 17:24

Now off to cook something simple for DCs who have snacked all day....constant nagging (no exaggeration), for, rice cakes, raisins, yogurt coated raisins, apples, biscuits, cheerios...I ask you! This with large brekkie's and lunch to boot!

So supper later, and bed time conversely later.. ... read, wine later ...

Anyone else struggle to keep bedtime the zen like chilled zone it ought to be...? Mine are absolutely fuelled up come bedtime...and need separating or all hell breaks loose!

Yes, Tracey...I think that would make a lovely day dress with some silver glads...mmmm...good price too!

P.S. What are you reading MM?

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 17:30

We always hold our club in the local pub, so no need to clean, re-interior design your entire house...

Oh, must get on, supper awaits...DS dressed up as Handy Manny!??...never seen it - but some 'friend' bought the outfit for him, and he loves it...blue and red nylon boilersuit with red baseball cap...a la handyman stylee...complete with yellow plastic 'tools' hanging off belt pegs...nice!

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 17:32

Oh and Tracey - the Baxters do shrink, even when not tumble dried...I find all jeans do tho' ...

ApuskiDusky · 15/07/2010 18:23

Hi all, pausing briefly in the feed-athon - thanks so much for the jaundice tips bunny, tracey and roary, and for all the words of support - we've moved A's crib into the bay window in our bedroom, it's like lying in his own light box, even though the weather has been a bit grim today. I think his feeding is going better (it was depressing last night having to set the alarm to make sure he could have a feed, as he would sleep for 5 hours on to trot if we left him be... but needs must). We wait for the big weigh-in tomorrow...

Lovely to hear about the spending time with mum plans - my parents are coming down in a week to see us (mum is all better now, thankfully), it'll be really nice to see them. And they will be staying in self catering just outside town, so no need to cater for them!

My best A&W buys I think are the UO combats (very accommodating of a preg bump until the last month) and Ash hi-tops. There may be others that I haven't had a chance to wear yet, still living in sweaty betty trews (that I unknowingly bought the day before the sales but was in such desperate need that I didn't dare send them back and reorder).

notyummy · 15/07/2010 18:29

Just a quickie...popped into Asda on whay home to buy DH essential icing ingredients (a cake making frenzy going on downstairs as I type. Tis the big par-tay on Saturday and the castle cake takes shape...)

I got this and this. I can't recommend the second enough. Really flattering on and would work with leggings as well I think. Not too short for work either - the model must be really tall, because at 5 ft 10 it is only just over the knee on me. Well chuffed!

My bargainous jeans here, alas, do not fit. Just a tad too tight (and they don't have a 12) - plus not actually that long, even in the longer leg, so not great with wedges. Size 10 top in pink is good though here- beautifully structured to flatter.

traceybath · 15/07/2010 19:06

Apuski - I well remember the setting the alarm thing. I was very very close to them re-admitting us due to failure to gain weight - luckily at the crucial weigh-in - he gained a few ozs. Was massively stressful though. Good luck tomorrow

NY - oooh lovely purchases. Am so impressed by your DH - my DH can barely do beans on toast.

notyummy · 15/07/2010 19:20

Dolcee - like the Gant dress you linked to BTW!

If people can't do various October dates we could go for November - such a dreary month, it would be good to cheer it up, and not as difficult to find a date to suit most- unlike December I would imagine.

Apuski - well done on all the hard work bf. I bf DD until 8 months (expressed for 2 months after I went back to work.) She made it really easy for us and seemed to know what to do (well, at least one of us did!) I often wonder how we would have managed though if we had some of the difficulties I have read about on various threads here. It sounds like you are doing so well.

Fleecy · 15/07/2010 20:07

Evening all,

Sorry the bargain jeans didn't fit ny

Glad to hear things looking up apuski

I can't do 9 Oct as I've got a friend's 30th birthday party that day. And DH's birthday is late Nov but other than that, I'm in.

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 20:10

NY Yes...lovely things...and particularly the pink top!

Other way around in our house...DH bakes and I do the decorating! (of cakes that is!)...
He's quite a good cook...quite innovative...although I do the day to day stuff and buy the ingredients he quite often rustles up something delicious at the weekend for the two of us...and cooks a mean roast on Sundays...

Having a lovely glass of red. Bath-time fine...they were actually quite good tonight. DH rang to ask if they'd been good - they confirmed they had , and he said he'd get them presents if they continued being good(!)...mmmm.....

Right...where's Roma then?????? Give us an update....

DolceeBanana · 15/07/2010 20:16

Hello Fleecy!

Right then, can everyone say the dates they can make and we can organise, Meet Up, Part 2...now, that does mean, Cake, Choo, Esher, Bunny et al that YOU also have to come, even though you will already have met.... (Know you will Tracey!)

Where shall we meet?

Apuski - take heart - this is a very precious time...I look back on those days of being cocooned with my babies very fondly NOW, although you don't quite appreciate it at the time...hindsight is a wonderful thing!
Good luck tomorrow!
