Oh lord if any of you can help i would be soooooo grateful.

i have green metallic glasses, right? looooovely ones, mikli/starck etc cost a freakin' fortune. and i am wearing a pink dress to a wedding (IN FRANCE, SODDING GOLD TRADERS APLENTY, THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOOTINESS ABOUNDS).

aaaanyway... it's only after coming home i realise that those glasses pop a little against the pink. fine, i like pop. so without running the risk of looking too matchy-matchy i thought maybe a green clutch and some green OR gold shoes. however, the woman in JL (yes, i know) said that i HAD to get green shoes as gold not appropriate (even with humungous gold zipper and potential for green and gold accessorising at wrist).

aaaand, oh i don't know. i'm just blethering. do you like my dress?

have any of you seen any nice green shoes lately? i've got good pins, can carry off a heeled glad-type thing. did try these on today and they are MASSIVELY comfortable but ever so slightly mumsy in the heel imo.

any advice?

Am lurking but just had to say that this thread has kept me entertained while there's nothing on TV! And aitch, if you are a PayPal user, I have a 15% off code for ASOS if you decide on the Westwood rubber ones! It's PAYPALJUNE, expires 15th June

Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:14

heheheh. i did like the flumps, in blue, and not with this dress. they are nice shoes, and from clarks, so will fit like slippers.

i might adjourn from this as am clearly irritating people who are only trying to help me, though, which was never my intention... [saintly] [bare-foot]

bigger, it's 16th June! Aitch - you can't go until you DECIDE. (or lie)

biggerfeetsmallerboobs · 16/06/2010 23:16

Oh bum! Sorry!

Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:16

ah-hah! fresh meat!

i am grimly fascinated by the rubber shoes.

there was only one gold pair that i liked, tbh, and that was tether's office peeps. i've book-marked 'em.

but am now off to check out ggirl's...

biggerfeetsmallerboobs · 16/06/2010 23:23

I know you don't aitch, ggirl was asking. Dress is lovely btw - I am an apple too and think it will be very flattering. I hope you find some shoes!

Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:26

oh but i kinda do, you see. am riven in twain on the matter. keep flicking back to them, and now have two pairs to flick to. but ninety quid for fooking rubber shoes... it's ridiculous.

OP posts:
ShirleyKnot · 16/06/2010 23:29

oh, I've found it!

midnightexpress · 16/06/2010 23:31

Oh ffs, I have been out and watered my entire garden to within an inch of its life and still you're going on about the shoes, woman?

Gold and pink is good. That is why they put a gold zip in the pink dress. Gold, in the cagey style - like those Jimmy Choos y'now this, but gold, and not 495 squids, obv.

And Of Course they will notice silver shoes and a gold zip. This is France we are talking about. Ask Bonsoir, she'll tell ya. You'll be driven out of town.

Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:33

and are those not my carvelas of the OP? (no, they are emphatically not, but there is a passing similarity.)

OP posts:
midnightexpress · 16/06/2010 23:36

No, no ropy bit. Ropes for the beach/yacht, not for swanky wedding.

ShirleyKnot · 16/06/2010 23:37

Whaaa?

Like these

LOVE THESE

Sure they're both up the thread somewhere,
but these are my real choices.

Got to make a choice - don't go green!

Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:37

yes, i acknowledge that, but if the swanky wedding is in dusty french countryside?
these are also out i take it?

OP posts:
Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:40

was joking obv, thought you would know so didn't put in wink, sorry.

see, both of those are much more spindly than i think i could manage. i'll be driving in france (bloody church is thirty mins from venue, venue twenty mins from place we're staying, no transport provided...) and wrangling kids at home so it's a firm no to spindly. plus, i just don't like delicate shoes, i think.

OP posts:
midnightexpress · 16/06/2010 23:44

ooh look, gold with green heels. But spindly of heel.

So, chunky heel or wedge?

Am losing will to continue.
