Oh lord if any of you can help i would be soooooo grateful.

i have green metallic glasses, right? looooovely ones, mikli/starck etc cost a freakin' fortune. and i am wearing a pink dress to a wedding (IN FRANCE, SODDING GOLD TRADERS APLENTY, THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOOTINESS ABOUNDS).

aaaanyway... it's only after coming home i realise that those glasses pop a little against the pink. fine, i like pop. so without running the risk of looking too matchy-matchy i thought maybe a green clutch and some green OR gold shoes. however, the woman in JL (yes, i know) said that i HAD to get green shoes as gold not appropriate (even with humungous gold zipper and potential for green and gold accessorising at wrist).

aaaand, oh i don't know. i'm just blethering. do you like my dress?

have any of you seen any nice green shoes lately? i've got good pins, can carry off a heeled glad-type thing. did try these on today and they are MASSIVELY comfortable but ever so slightly mumsy in the heel imo.

any advice?

please stop trying, love, it's a lost cause... those ones are lovely and do-able of heel i think but under no circumstances do i have enough money to pay for them.

Aitch - those shoes refuse to load on my mac - I saw that their name was patchouli?

STOP IT!

(you don't need to wink at me - honest, I'm not a fluffy!)

Any good? Cheap as chips

Aitch · 16/06/2010 23:53

i know, the patchouli was off-putting i agree. they were just cork peep-toe wedges, funnily enough, not dissimilar (but disappointingly flatter) to my silver ones.

no diamante, the woman in john lewis would burst a corset. plus, they are again rather delicate and feminine where i would prefer to stomp i think.

Just seen this...Green shoes NO, with green specs and a green bag (that I agree with) green shoes will just look like you are trying too hard, too put together and just not getting it right.

Pink shoes No, as above but you would also just look cheap.

Do not go for statement shoes, the dress and bag say enough. Your shoes should be simple strappy and gold! Add some tasteful gold jewellery (obviously not Vikki Polard style) and you are good to go. Everything will work together but it will look effortless, which is the key here, yes?

I would also say no to wedges with that dress.

AnotherFineMess · 17/06/2010 00:08

No, Idon't tihnk you can make a rope out of cork so you should be ok

Aitch · 17/06/2010 00:28

lol jac where've ya bin? agree, then, so we're back to the gold. i really don't want stupid little filigree straps though, i have now decided that i actively detest them... so what constitutes a non-statement shoe, do you think?

OP posts:
Jaquelinehyde · 17/06/2010 00:38

I think you had it right with a cage sandal, although most of them have spike like heels which I think you said you don't want?

I am trawling the net as we speak, if I find anything I shall report back.

Although I am tempted to include some dolly type court shoes (peep toe) they could work, or a simple slingback.

PrimroseCrabapple · 17/06/2010 00:39

sooooo

Gold

Thick heels, or wedges not spindly.

Not daintly miss world style sandals normally seen worn with a swimsuit.

not covered up shoes - too hot.

No rope, cork or similar beachy types.

No diamante.

Aitch · 17/06/2010 00:41

i do quite like the cone heel, those i find tolerable. did like the oasis ones, so will deffo investigate those irl. you hate the carvela ones too i take it? sooooo comfy.

Aitch · 17/06/2010 00:56

OP posts:
Jaquelinehyde · 17/06/2010 00:57

M&S number 2, nice but not with your dress, also they are more bronze than gold.

Aitch · 17/06/2010 00:57

not as shit irl they looked quite nice with the hot pink toenails. but rope, y'see. although i bet i would wear them again.

OP posts:
Aitch · 17/06/2010 00:58

KristinaM · 17/06/2010 00:58

do not buy any of teh westwood shoes made of that rubber material - its hard and very uncomfortable

if teh zip is a problem why dont you have it changed? will cost you less than a pair of new shoes

then you could wear shoes you already have and buy jewellry that brings in your kelly green colour, preferably earring or necklace as will be up near your face
