Oh lord if any of you can help i would be soooooo grateful.

i have green metallic glasses, right? looooovely ones, mikli/starck etc cost a freakin' fortune. and i am wearing a pink dress to a wedding (IN FRANCE, SODDING GOLD TRADERS APLENTY, THE POTENTIAL FOR SNOOTINESS ABOUNDS).

aaaanyway... it's only after coming home i realise that those glasses pop a little against the pink. fine, i like pop. so without running the risk of looking too matchy-matchy i thought maybe a green clutch and some green OR gold shoes. however, the woman in JL (yes, i know) said that i HAD to get green shoes as gold not appropriate (even with humungous gold zipper and potential for green and gold accessorising at wrist).

aaaand, oh i don't know. i'm just blethering. do you like my dress?

have any of you seen any nice green shoes lately? i've got good pins, can carry off a heeled glad-type thing. did try these on today and they are MASSIVELY comfortable but ever so slightly mumsy in the heel imo.

any advice?

10 days should be enough for a second choice
It is half a pain when something looks crap/doesn't fit, but half exciting because you can spend the money all over again
What are going for?
I liked TraceyBath's green grazia shoes and the Vivienne Westwood shoes that you were ideologically opposed to as they were plastic
I once had a black plastic pair of Paul Smith shoes with an Eiffel Tower in the heel and they were fab, and v comfortable for dancing in (God I loved those shoes)

problem is i'd deffo have to try them on, someone else came on here and said that the VW rubber is hellish uncomfortable.

i know you all hate them but am thinking i might have to go with the first carvelas as they will be so good for stomping around dusty french roads and later child-wrangling.

Can't you take the dress to a dressmaker and change the gold zip for a silver one?

Silver shoes

Done

Aitch · 21/06/2010 14:55

yeah, i could, but i like the gold tbh, it's nice, very warm. silver feels a bit nineties.

yes I suppose you're right

i have white gold wedding/engagement ring and am coming to regret that now

everything I wear these days seems to suit gold better

may have to divorce dh and do it again

I think you need to continue gold shoe search, really not keen on the carvelas

Aitch · 21/06/2010 15:06

no one is. they are nicer on than in the picture, i promise (in fact i wouldn't ever have tried them on but was persuaded). but i see that the rope may be a problem.

Is this a record breaking shoe thread? It should perhaps be moved into classics.

So, is it gold now then?

Are these too high? Bargainatious though.

Or these wedgers?

No? I thought not.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/06/2010 15:31

Too matchy matchy for you? Fine if you do your purple/green clutch.

tethersend · 21/06/2010 15:47

Back to green?

Ingles2 · 21/06/2010 18:15

Oh No!
What a pain in the arse!
I'll have another look later

tethersend · 21/06/2010 21:17

Can this really be how it ends?

Aitch · 22/06/2010 06:57

oh, thaks ladies, you are too kind.

okaaaay, i got a pair of shoes in office, havig been to pretty much every shoe shop in town...

tried on what gold cages i could find but honestly, i am not just being wimpy, i just CANNOT walk in big high heels. i don't know, maybe it gets easier if you have bigger feet or something, or maybe younger women don't mind looking like they have a palsy in the knee area...

anyway here they are

i just can't think that i'll get anything better. look, green and pink! (and all other colours under the sun as well). i couldn't face getting mimsy gold sandals if they weren't fierce cages... i just couldn't. so i went for wack instead.

Aitch · 22/06/2010 07:35

super-fab in metallic but no use to me very comfortable though. but lookit the fookin' price for a pair of chinese made shoes.

OP posts:
Aitch · 22/06/2010 13:20

hahahahahahaha YOU ALL HATE THEM!

OP posts:
Aitch · 22/06/2010 13:21

(actually i can see why, but in the flesh and on the foot they are pretty nice. take the outfit in a kinda rougher, 80-ser direction.

now i am looking for a cuff.
