In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

Oh fab mm/zembo/romana? if you drop me an email at so fia.pe ret ti at gmail.com
and I shall post in next couple of days. Def no payment!

ps roman dress was definitely too small for me (reordered in a medium and was terribly unwise in never returning the small!)
zembo- I think it would be knee length on you

I tried ebay for a while and I sold lots of bits but seriously, their fees plus paypal fees are crazy, plus the number of people claiming they didn't receive things- tsssk- have given up, it's not worth the effort unless it's something really expensive

vinauchocolat · 07/06/2010 13:46

oh, no spaces in email of course!

blossoming · 07/06/2010 13:59

My weight has plateaued (sp?), maybe due to loads of red wine imbibed last week. More likely due to lack of exercise because of bad back (2 weeks off).
However, much better now and have started the 30 day Shred. OMG. Didn't think I could complete it. And the skipping rope and jumping jacks. Let's just say my pelvic floor isn't as good as it once was!

romanarama, love those bahlsen biscuits. Had to ban them, too addictive for me and dh!

Ordered another pair of those fat face beach shorts and the haimi camisole. Perfect for boiling hot South of France in August. But still 2 months away.

DH is 40 tomorrow. Wants local bacon from the butchers for lunch, a tea party and a home made curry for dinner. Hmm.

Forgot to say vin (no I won't fit into any of your clothes..!), but I agree with roman. Ultimately, your friend was not your responsibility, and there was nothing you could have done.

PlumSykes · 07/06/2010 15:57

Just back from the osteo. Apparently I have gross fatigue. Tell me something I don't know. Headache's gone tho.

Nothing like a silver-haired 65-yr-old undoing your bra to kick the week off in style!

LetThemEatCake · 07/06/2010 16:48

hello everyone

still haven't bought the shoes ... really want to though... am trying to be wise ... but surely a lovely, wearable purchase is wise?

can't recall who said what buuuuuuttt...

loose UO combats: I'm wearing mine belted today. Can't decide whether it looks awful or not but at least I'm not hitching them up constantly

Psyllium: Holland & Barrett do a thing called Colon Care which I've used when doing the Jason Vale juicing thing (which also tends to, ahem, slow things down)

well done on the weight loss hells and on the curtains roma

have had one of dd's friends over for playdate today, plus the mum and baby. Was fun but my children are now being quite foul - whining and arguing. Am ignoring.

It's the brown leather I'm a bit funny about with those bags carciofi as I've eyed up the silver one aswell.

Ian Marber is really easy to do once you get over the initial no sugar shock!

OP posts:
Romanarama · 07/06/2010 18:50

Carciofi, I'm with you there, except for me just one croissant.

Vin I mailed you.

Cake I actually think those are quite possibly the holy grail of shoes: sexy and comfy. I'm quite tempted myself, though am trying to focus on workwear, not to mention waiting for the sales.

Anyway, yay! I made the other curtain, and it is better finished than the first one, not to mention taking half the time. They look v.nice and the room is pitch black when they're drawn. Now I'm trying to brace myself to hang the Osborne and Little wallpaper myself, though that is quite possibly a dumb idea.

Romanarama · 07/06/2010 18:52

I've got a packet of psyllium husks. Bleeeuuuuch! Anyone want it (opened though, so not v.appetising!). To make yourself a seriously repulsive 'p&b shake' you also need bentonite clay. Do not do it!!

AllBuggiedOut · 07/06/2010 18:57

Found the bag carciofi but your link took me to a porn site first Am also not keen on the brown leather, and think you could do better for the money. I am drawn to this and this

Well done on the curtains roman. Such satisfying work!

Romanarama · 07/06/2010 18:59

carciofi delete that post - quick!

Zembo · 07/06/2010 19:11

Roman looks like Vin's black dress is yours, you got in there over 5 mins faster than me

All this talk of diets has got me wondering if I should go on one! I've never actually done one as look okayish on an unrestricted diet, but as with all things, could always do better Thinking about the CV detox one as I love my carbs so wouldn't be happy on a high protein plan. Could very easily give up meat. Will look into it, thanks Cake

Sympathies to all of you who have experienced loss - its possibly the worst feeling ever.

Romanarama · 07/06/2010 19:28

Talking of black dresses, this is nice for the office, don't you think?

carciofi · 07/06/2010 19:51

Really??

I just clicked on the link to check but can't open it. I will email MNHQ, how bizarre as the only porn I ever look at is of the handbag or property variety!

Nice dress, Roma.

AllBuggiedOut · 07/06/2010 19:55

Have you ladies ever held clothes swap parties with your friends? I've been to a few where we give away stuff that doesn't fit or suit us, and hopefully come away with other people's donations. Vin's hugely generous offer of her clothes reminded me

LetThemEatCake · 07/06/2010 20:23

ABO I've heard about people doing that, sounds a good idea, except that I don't really know anyone my height/ size. My plan is to get to Roma's size and then get her to give me all of her cast-offs

Roma that thing about the 'old hands'/SJP made me laugh .. years ago, in my dosser/ traveller days, I worked at a tanning salon (!!) which had an on-site beautician. I was having a quiet day and her appt didn't show up. She offered to use the time to give me a treatment. I thought, cool - manicure, eyebrow shape .. and then she said "I mean, I could wax your arms for you." I was like, OMG!! all the things that I am already paranoid about and I'd never noticed that one before!!

LetThemEatCake · 07/06/2010 20:24

blossoming so annoying when they want to celebrate in ways that don't involve dressing up.

Zembo · 07/06/2010 20:45

Tracey did you manage to get hold of some antihistamines and are you feeling better?

traceybath · 07/06/2010 21:25

Zembo - I did thanks - very helpful pharmacist in boots got out his book and was very sensible especially when I quoted 'my friend the pharmacist said . . .'. So thank you

Right - whizzed into new look on way to buy salmon in m&s and purchased an off the shoulder grey sweatshirt. Tis very similar to the james perse one I liked on NAP but a mere £10!

Up 4 times last night with Bea so rather tired today and then just bathed dc's feeding bea on my bed and she spectacularly threw up all over herself, me and my bed - lovely! She seemed fine though but meant new baths etc.

And this is really bad but I was fretting as new Jack Bauer was ready and waiting for me . Its over now though and I feel bereft. May have to watch all the box sets again or at least some of the better series.

Romana - wow on the curtains and love that black dress. I imagine you'll look very chic in it when running MI5 . Talking of which just finished reading Agent ZigZag which was very entertaining.

I had an anti-compliment today - random bloke said 'god you look tired' - and you know what - I really did.

LTEC - you will not be surprised to hear that I actually do fret about hairiness of arms and have contemplated having them waxed. I am shallower than the shallowest thing you can think of.

Marsha - see by chloe blouse just waiting to be tried on as DH brought it home from work.

Slightly perturbed tonight as DH talking about further expansion of business which'll put our house-buying plans back a bit so may move to another rental as this one is not that brilliant. However just costs so much money to move and don't how long it would be for - decisions decisions.

blossoming · 07/06/2010 21:30

Yes ltec, I shall be mostly wearing elastcated waist trousers for curry night!

OP posts:
RedBlueRed · 07/06/2010 21:49

I will confess to having waxed my arms...the hair is not very dark, but sometimes I just get it into my head that I have arms like a man and I get the wax strips out. I probably haven't done it for a couple of years but now it has been mentioned, I shall probably get paranoid and have a go.

Vin did your parcel show up?

I like that cowl neck black dress for the office, it looks like the type of 'minimal effort, maximum style'.

hf128219 · 07/06/2010 21:56

Roman I make curtains too (very badly!)
Yours sound wonderful! And yes, I do go to work rather early.

LTEC What's holding you back from the shoes?

Tracey Glad you saw the pharmacist and got some meds. Tis a ghastly thing.

Have your mothers (where appropriate) influenced your style/fashion enthusiasm?

Mine definitely has. She is now 77 and I get texts saying 'Oh, will you look at this long line belted jacket for me on line and let me know what you think'

She still looks wonderful - IMO!

LTEC I have very old hands - it's a family thing.

OllieWollieWoo · 07/06/2010 22:01

Vin - I feel awful as I completely forgot to say in my earlier post how sorry I was about your friend. I can only echo what all the others have said about you not dwelling on what ifs.
reallygrumpy - thank you for your post - it made my day/week/month/year! Am so pleased you liked the tunic and jeans - I do too!
Roman - love that dress. Get it as a back to work treat????
Is anyone else watching Mary Queen of Shops - she is really up against it with the bakery woner isn't she! I love her!

LetThemEatCake · 07/06/2010 22:01

dress is very chic Roma

tracey am so glad you are feeling better, well done on the Flashdance purchase! but urgh about dh and business plans, I hate those sorts of maybe/ what if/ perhaps we should/ let's rethink moments. Make me feel very edgy.

I have got 2 x 24 left . Glad Bea is okay, why has she started waking up again though, little tinker!! L is now waking once, at around 2.30am. Quick feed then through until 6.30ish. Could be better but not as bad as a few months back.

I Naired my arms for wedding day ... didn't want it to look like there were shadows falling on my glorious sunshiney day But I am Asian, well half anyway, so as Zembo may well tell you, the olive skin thing is the silver lining to a life of hirsuteness.
