In reference to a question by ltec the other day.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 09/06/2010 13:42

MM I like the Matches one, but not so keen on the cheaper similar ones. Wondering if waiting until NAP sale starts and you could get a bargain.

If this Marlene Birger is reduced it could be a good buy. (I'm sure there are others too).

And I remember a 'blush' email from theoutnet floating past with 50% maybe, but have deleted and can't find link.

LTEC I think the Dukan is working, I feel it! (but no scales, haha half a mirror, can't see without glasses and in a zen-like fug....). The diet is completely the opposite to what I am used to, strange to cut out all veg for a bit. I needed to do this as had a bit of heft left, you sound like you are already at a good skinny weight. So probably a bit drastic (very restrictive).

AllBuggiedOut · 09/06/2010 13:42

Did you spot the Houli-a-likes in Primark LTEC? Somebody mentioned them on here a couple of days back.

hellsbelles · 09/06/2010 13:48

Marsha - so glad it's working. I've moved on from the 'attack' phase and I'm now alternating veg day with protein only. My first day back on the veg and no further loss (yesterday) but he warned that would happen. So very tempting to stay on the protein for longer but I was starting to hallucinate about fresh veg!

Will check links MM asap

MarshaBrady · 09/06/2010 13:51

Hells hi! Yes it turned out to be quite a big shock to the system I could hardly walk on morning of day 1 without feeling dizzy (maybe cos dh had the heating on at 7am ). But then energy kicked in from somewhere.

Plus went to fishmongers and bought the most plump delicious Scottish scallops, ecuadorian king prawns, and fish. And good meat from butcher. So exxy but not too bad with nice food!

bunnymother · 09/06/2010 14:03

Had to share something with you... For those of you with DCs still in a highchair, wait until they are out of it before attempting to clean the food they have thrown/dropped underneath. Otherwise you could get kicked in the eye. Which doesn't tickle if they have their shoes on.

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 14:03

ABO yes I did see the Primark Houlis that red mentioned - they look to be worth a go, deffo!!

have just been looking at my 'statement necklace' and it would look very good with a black jumpsuit and my maternity Choos

so, ladies, should I get tracey's Warehouse one or the asos one??? I suspect I am better suited to a straight-across neckline due to absence of cleavage - what do you reckon??

don't know whether I mentioned that I started Shredding?? did level 1 first night, didn't really feel it so moved on to Level 2. Ouch!!

Marsha how exciting to get such quick results! are you doing zero-fat dairy too?

AllBuggiedOut · 09/06/2010 14:10

Straight across the neck will be more versatile then the shaped one LTEC which looks dressier. Think it would be easier to wear in the day time. Are you thinking black or tie die?

Am looking forward to checking out Primark on Saturday!

DolceeBanana · 09/06/2010 14:11

Now girlies...am wearing the Joules navy tank with indigo skinnies and leopard ballets, and it looks good...flattering cut on the longish tank, ruffled panel...just enough detail to make it interesting...

A good buy I think!

This Dukan stuff sounds interesting, so am going to look it up and maybe give it a go...

In the throes of organising a Pirate party for DC for July...I'm like a kid myself! Now, Cake think you made a Pirate themed cake for your DS? Where was recipe from ? Any suggestions? Eh, dead impressed that you changed a tyre WOW! Honestly, dead impressed!

Also impressed by Roma's needlework skills...I have only ever made cobbled together cushion covers...

Tracey...this house business is a pain isn't it...but there's nothing around anyway at the moment in consolation...We've ended up renting a 5 bed new house in small village, so kids can have room each and we can have guests...so I can see your point about wanting a bit more comfort. I strictly like old houses in RL, as it were, or I'd love a bespoke house in natural materials but hey!

Fleecy - we're looking Cotswoldy area so similar story on price...

Car came back today - yeahhhh!

Hells and Marsha and Plum - good luck on Dukan!

Reine - imaginative name!

MarshaBrady · 09/06/2010 14:11

Oh Bunny bad luck ouch! Hope no bruises / lumps.

Ltec I prefer the straight across, only as I too find it better with no cleavage. I really want a playsuit thingo.

I'm hopeless with dairy. The supermarket aisle groaned with a million yoghurts and I couldn't even see enough to choose one. So am missing out on the dairy, but not that keen on no-fat stuff so don't mind. (As an aside in the US everyone would eat no-fat but it wasn't great for the figure).

I keep seeing the term 'shredding' about, is it a harsh exercise regime? Sounds quite good (lines up for next thing ).

hellsbelles · 09/06/2010 14:14

Marsha - there is a 'total' fat free yoghurt. It's pretty bad but I felt I had to have some dairy!

I too am thinking 'if this is all I can have then it better be the best stuff'...and have just finished stuffing my face with white crab meat . Indeed it is a super expensive diet.

LTEC - agree straight across is better for you. Have you ordered the Chloe boots? They are selling out fast!

Romanarama · 09/06/2010 14:18

rofl at 'maternity choos'. I've asked for notification when the Chloe boots come back in, but am also thinking about these Belstaffs. What do you think?

MarshaBrady · 09/06/2010 14:19

at white crab meat. Seriously the fishmonger thought it was his lucky day, I made some weak excuse about not eating fish during pg and trying to make up for it....

I can't go back to those poor unhappy supermarket prawns.

It is expensive, more so than a potato! (although my brain refuses to register potatoes anymore)

hellsbelles · 09/06/2010 14:24

Roman - I have those (from quite a while back) and I like them a lot. Having said that I haven't worn them that much. Not sure why.

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 14:24

yes ABO am deffo thinking black - will proceed to purchase, i think, quelle discount also!!

Dolce - cake from here and bought lots of stuff for party bags/ decs etc from here

yes, shredding is this Marsha, it promises great results and from what I've read on the Diet/ weight loss threads, it delivers too. Notyummy is a fan, for one.
Only 20 mins too so quite do-able regardless of time constraints...

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 14:26

Roma maternity choos bc I bought them with my Health in Pregnancy grant, with which you are supposed to by fresh fruit and veg.

Chloe boots out in my size, have asked for notification when back in 42

hellsbelles · 09/06/2010 14:28

hurrah - the rain has stopped just in time for me to go on the school run.

LTEC - why are you so about your feet. If you are tall you need bigger feet. Surely you would be unbalanced with tiny little ones? This is my view and I'm sticking to it. Though my friend who is 5ft 5 (or summat) had 8 or 9 size feet. That did look weird.

OllieWollieWoo · 09/06/2010 17:08

Dolce - I've done a pirate cake using my trusty method of shop brought maderia cake cut into a boat shape! Covered with chocolate buttercream icing and used cadbury flakes to look like wooden planks. Also used chocolate fingers for oars and round biscuits for port holes. Made some red and white stripey sails on sticks, and used a few Playmobil pirates and accessories. Will see if I can upload a pic on my profile later.

Bunjies - ta for the tip - wasn't aware so will pack some in case we have to go to a public pool cos of rain!

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 17:30

hells - the reason that I'm about my feet is summed up right here in this photo

bought the ASOS jumpsuit!! figures crossed!! may have to double-Shred tonight as insurance

traceybath · 09/06/2010 17:51

LTsEC - I must say having tried jumpsuit on again today - it is very flattering.

Wore new see by chloe blouse this pm as met mum at lovely hotel for afternoon tea as she's staying there for a meeting.

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 18:04

tracey I don't think I've seen your SbC blouse - can you link?

traceybath · 09/06/2010 18:25

Was this one

Wore tucked into skinny khakis and looked pretty nice I think.

Romanarama · 09/06/2010 19:17

cake you have quite impressive boobs in that pic - all in proportion actually .

Talking of which, thanks to whoever recommended a strapless wonderbra the other day - I just bought it from figleaves and I really like it. It's very comfy and feels very secure. this one

LetThemEatCake · 09/06/2010 19:44

yes, I was fat. Point taken!! thanks Roma!

traceybath · 09/06/2010 19:44

Romana - snap - I got one too and think its thanks to MM

DolceeBanana · 09/06/2010 19:59

Thanks for cake details Cakey!

How nice to meet your Mum in a lovely hotel tb...my Mother is joined at the hip with my father and this would not be an option for us - she would be if I suggested such an excursion, although your Mum sounds like a regular business woman! I really want to have the kind of relationship with my kids where we 'do lunch' etc...My gorgeous artist friend goes to luxury boutique hotels with her Maman...guess who pays? Lucky thing...

I know i'm crap with links...they never work anyway, but Hobbs have some fab wedges at the mo ...so v tempted...

Oh, the bleeding car came back then didn't work when I hurriedly rushed to get DS from nursery...cue rather dishy mech from local garage who found it was a fuse...oh, a fuse! He did offer his Range Rover as a swap but managed to fix it.

Actually I jest, but he was a lovely, genuine, helpful guy.... an uplifting, life affirming moment as Cake would say.....ahhhhh
