Aagh, what do I do?
Great service, the White Company 7/8s in slate that I phoned and ordered yesterday, arrived.
They're too big!!
I live too far away from a shop to return them. No-one here's a size 14 and fancies them, right?
Any lurkers..?

Stylelostinlabour · 27/05/2010 12:39

Oh I might? (just lurking as usual) what's the waist like on them?

blossoming · 27/05/2010 12:50

Quite low, with no belt loops. Customer services said they'd take them back, so if you can decide asap?
I need to do a post office run soon with ebay stuff, so don't have much time.

blossoming - in some ways its good news though! I thought you said on the last thread that you had hit a 12 through your 'no sugar' ways - you obviously couldn't believe it and now its been confirmed again!

blossoming · 27/05/2010 13:10

You're right notyummy. It's really hard to think of myself as a 12 again, especially in trousers. I've also convinced myself that I've put all the weight back on as I haven't been able to exercise since last Friday due to backache.
Anyhow, it's almost 6 weeks without sugar now, and no more cravings.

stylelostinlabour, I'm going to be honest and say the trousers really don't look like they do in the website photo, and I wouldn't want you to be stuck with £60 trousers you can't return. They're not at all a skinny fit like they describe. I may have been better off with the Landsend ones after all!

Fleecy · 27/05/2010 13:20

blossoming sorry about the trousers but am so impressed you've broken through that boundary with the sugar. And dropped a dress size with it!

I have bought the purple VW scoop dress last night. I kept thinking about it then noticed they only have 1 small and 1 medium left. So have ordered them both, just to be on the safe side. Was going to risk the small but if it didn't fit and the one remaining medium had gone, I'd have been annoyed!

hells and tracey how do you wear yours to dress it for day?

hellsbelles · 27/05/2010 13:28

sorry Tracey - unfortunate X-post. What a pain to have had the mix up.

Blossoming - very impressed with snog result! I shall be on the look out for the blossoming top when next in MS

NY - so lovely to get the scarf.

Fleecy - I haven't worn it for day yet...when it's colder I think it may work well the way NAP have styled it here

Just got a letter from Selfridges to say I get to see (and buy) a preview of sales stuff (due to my personal shopping extravaganza!) Just trying to work out when I could possibly get the time - I doubt I can justify as every time I get cover for DD I need to be working

Fleecy · 27/05/2010 13:49

Oh thanks hells I have long black cardi and black boots ('tho sadly not those boots!) so could easily do that. Grey tights would also I think?

tracey hope you enjoy your day of glam, even if it's a home day of glam!

hells and marsha in awe of your avidity (is that a word) Sadly, I would probably be invited to Dorothy Perkins or eBay if anywhere Must try harder!

AllBuggiedOut · 27/05/2010 13:49

How exciting hells - have you got a friend you could ask to have your DD as a favour? You could buy her something fabulous and vastly-reduced as a thank-you!

I am so envious of you all and the VW dress, but am determined not to buy something so vibrant before I have my colours done. And it's bound to have sold out after I have I love the way it's styled for cooler weather.

hellsbelles · 27/05/2010 13:57

good idea ABO! I suspect DH will probably agree to an hour or so actually...fingers crossed.

The VW is a strong colour so probably wise not to purchase unless you are sure.

Fleecy - agree grey could be really good too.

MarshaBrady · 27/05/2010 14:06

Well done Hells! Could they make it a time when your dh can look after your dd..

Hope you get to go.

Fel1x · 27/05/2010 14:31

from centerparcs
we are having a surprisingly fun week!
Looking forward to catching up with what you've all been up to when I get back x

AllBuggiedOut · 27/05/2010 14:41

at Fel1x

Hope you are knocking everybody dead with your stylishness!

Fleecy · 27/05/2010 15:49

Popping in quickly while at work - MW have emailed to say they've made a mistake and the VW dress is only available in small and not medium. Keep your fingers crossed ladies!

Stylelostinlabour · 27/05/2010 15:57

Blossoming - sorry for late reponse was doing the dreaded school run, hope you haven't missed the post office. It's the skinny look as was after so will give them a miss and without loops I think they may well show more of me than should be on show!

Thanks for the honesty as well, what a shame about them. Just ordered a swimsuit from them so hoping it's like in the picture and long enough in the body? Anyone have any of the White Company one?

OllieWollieWoo · 27/05/2010 16:13

Has the 25%off at My Wardrobe code been posted? If not, link to other MN post with code here

LetThemEatCake · 27/05/2010 16:28

home ... more drained by a few hours with my dad than by the last few weeks of (pretty much) sole parenting.

Thanks for your support. whelk what size tee did you order, bear in mind that I would say they run large. Think the outfit looked ok, or at least ok enough for my dad to comment on how I looked.

very pleased with my Blochs, so comfy!!

hells am delighted those dresses work. Hurrah!! Isn't it funny how we can envisage stuff for each other, even having never met??

ummm, mind has gone blank, have only just read the thread but obv haven't taken it in. Back later.

LetThemEatCake · 27/05/2010 16:33

oh that was it! bodsmum I'm 8 months in now so boobs are very efficient (no leaking) and baby L not feeding nearly as much nor for as long .. have been doing no bra or normal strapless, always have a lightweight scarf or cardi with me for cover and no one has ever commented (nor looked, as far as I've noticed!!) I kind of position him then drape the scarf/ cardi over myself and his head, pull one side of my dress down slightly, hey presto. Bear in mind I have very little up top, nothing to 'flop out' so to speak

LetThemEatCake · 27/05/2010 16:36

right that's it, I need to look like this before the summer is over

isn't she heaven?

LetThemEatCake · 27/05/2010 16:38

oh wow

Whelk · 27/05/2010 16:54

Cakey- I can truly relate to feeling drained by your dad. Just thinking aboutmine and all the mess drains me. So well done- tick that one off! I hope the comment from him was a good one.

Thanks for the tip about the tee. I'll order XS tonight (would normally go for a Small but with your tip perhaps XS??) I too am small in boob but don't think i could get away with no bra! Nat Geog!

Good old baby L- both mine objected violently to being covered with a scarf while bf-ing so had to opt for the pulling top up and revealling wobby stomach!

hf128219 · 27/05/2010 17:00

Bloss How lovely of your dh

NY Well done on your presentation - and gift! Don't forget the hospitality register!

LTEC* Sorry you're a bit drained.

Tracey What a pest re the mix up with dates.

Who was looking for a trench coat? Nipped into Harrods today and there was 50% off Aquascutum trenches - long and short.

LetThemEatCake · 27/05/2010 17:02

he said "You look well. In fact, you've lost a hell of a lot of weight - are you sure you're not overdoing it??"

he's always been one to put an implied criticism in with a so-called compliment. My marks at school/ uni were consistently 95% and over (don't laugh - I know I'm a vacuous thicko now) and he would always say things like "well, you got that without studying much - if only you;d work a bit harder, you could do really well."

how often do you have to see yours? Mine is in the UK for 2 weeks He's managing to squeeze us in for a day at the end of his trip as well. It obviously means a lot to him, meeting baby L for the first time and seeing P&C for the first time in 18 months

hellsbelles · 27/05/2010 17:10

that's awful Cake and I do understand....I have seen mine three times in about 4 years...he's met DS twice and DD once. He usually appears to charm us all...and then a few weeks later has an emergency requirement for funds

hf128219 · 27/05/2010 17:14

LTEC Try not to let it get you down. I see mine a lot - soon to be 81 and with mild Alzheimers. Tough to see that as he was a leader in his medical field.

Hells Funny how family and friends can appear when funds are low

FIL hasn't seen dd once!
