Credit to Everything for the lovely new title!

OP posts:
bunjies · 22/04/2010 09:02

Glad to hear you're home Apuski. Make sure you DO rest though !

bunnymother · 22/04/2010 09:12

Carciofi - oh dear, poor DD re her party. Am expecting the same for DD's 1st birthday party. Re the dresses, def prefer the black one. But then its not really that wow, more an excellent staple. Keep looking? Unless you want a staple.

carciofi · 22/04/2010 09:40

Apuski, missed that you are home, that's great.

Glad work is going well for you, MrsJuan. I went back to work for 4 days last summer and then resigned. My name is mud at that company, I am sure!

Bunny, more looking for a staple really. My DD always wakes up early or during the night when I got out, it is as if she knows!

Think I might check out white baxters instead of forking out for Paige.

DolceeBanana · 22/04/2010 09:47

Georgina - lol at your post re spending on DHs credit card after a 'row'.... ...he actually laughs about it! Once I spent about £500 on him too, as I said he was a scruffy bugger!!! He thought it hysterical, but was quick to say he didn't need anything else!!!! He isn't actually a scruffy bugger, just a bit more laissez faire than me...immculate for work, great suits/shirts and tres, tres cas and non trend otherwise.

Choo - Know what you mean about having your 'tiredness acknowledged'...I make sure that I do acknowledge DHs now...as like Cake says just because he is away often and staying in hotels, its a bit of a drag at times...and I know he misses us...although of course at times we all get resentful, only natural.

FWIW (and maybe I finally understand this at 40, 3 DCs, and many, many years together), I think that the key to being happy in a marriage starts with you being happy; making an effort for each other; time apart and time together without the kids (regular nights out)....both partners have to want it though...That was thought for the day!

Apuski - LOOK AFTER YOURSELF!!!! I was admitted to Bath RUH at 28 weeks with tightenings with 2 of my babies (exactly the same times), when I had been overdoing it (packing for hols!!!), and after forced rest managed to get to 41 weeks with DC1 and 42 weeks with DC3!!!!

Now, have cleared out AW stuff and embracing the sunshine with full on SS10 (as Cake would say).......must repaint toes before we go out!!!!!! Mind you, its a bit brrrrrr.....

DolceeBanana · 22/04/2010 10:07

DolceeBanana · 22/04/2010 10:16

P.P.S. Need new pair funky ballet flats - recommendations....?

carciofi · 22/04/2010 10:43

Dolcee, I don't have them but I hear Bloch ballet flats are great.

MM, Reiss also have nice belts.

blossoming · 22/04/2010 10:48

carciofi, I have the black dress, it's beautiful and timeless, elegant and understatedly sexy. What more can we ask for?
Re the jbrands. I'm not sure I can get into 31, although I can in Paige, and 32 is sold out. Should I get them to try on?
I am avoiding white jeans, but have loads of white shorts, clamdiggers etc.
Re coloured leggings, I'm living in my jeggings right now.
Today I'm wearing Paige skinnies, m&s ballets, raspberry camisole from kettlewell and silver boyfriend cardigan. I love it.
mrsjuan, I am in awe of everyone working with special needs children. You do amazing work in challenging situations.

carciofi · 22/04/2010 10:51

Blossoming, I like your outfit. I think we have similar taste.

Try the 31, I find you need to size down in JBrand.

ApuskiDusky · 22/04/2010 11:20

Morning everyone. Well I am kind of managing to rest, but organising things to clear my work diary sometimes feels like as much work as just doing it! But I have managed to get someone else to step in to do a big training event that I was meant to do next week that I was already feeling dubious about, so that's the big outstanding work stress taken care of.

Now to chill and properly catch up with posts and links!

blossoming · 22/04/2010 11:22

Okay, I've ordered. They had 32 this morning, so to be on the safe side...
I'm hoping my stomach/problem area will be no more after this no-sugar diet. I'm only on day 4, but feel much better.
Forgot to do my blast off belly fat dvd after all. Spent all last night looking at NAP/jamie!
Must be more disciplined!
Thanks for your comments re my outfit carciofi. That colours session I did was so worthwhile.

blossoming · 22/04/2010 11:26

Great news apuski.

Now what can we buy at Figleaves, with 20& off for 5 days with treat20 at checkout?

LetThemEatCake · 22/04/2010 11:34

Apuski so glad you're home. Rest well, lots of tummy rubs and 'golden light surrounding your baby' as my yoga teacher was wont to say.

am still cross with dh ... it's nothing major, just an ever-lengthening list of small jobs that I have asked him to do that would make my life that bit easier and which remain not done. I mean, I know he's busy, but there are limits to my tolerance . Culminated last night in him asking me to tape Jamie.. I texted "no worries!! will do between packed lunches, 3 loads of laundry, tidying the house, breatfeding and trying to contain my hacking cough! Always happy to oblige!!" To which he replied "Don't worry about it, I'll get a copy from the prod company". It incensed me that he had this option, since my own options are so limited, so I texted back "Maybe they'd like to sort the buggyboard and the kids' table while they're at it?"

And then I got the flirty text from the old flame

Anyway, my cough has been hanging around nearly 2 weeks now and I am actually getting a bit worried about it, as it's not like me to be sick and I just feel so completely wiped out and freeeeeeeezing all the time, but having to change my top 2 or 3 times a night bc I wake up soaked in sweat so have bitten the bullet and made doc appt for tomorrow to get some antibiotics.

MrsJ will look at my book but first thing that springs to my mind is circular cake with triangle cut out for mouth and repositioned to form the tail? we do this with paper plates a lot!! I'd go for the XS in the UO combats as that's what I've now got and you're smaller than me.

P at nursery so need to go and show my boys a good time One more load of washing to hang out and then off we go. May the force be with me

blossoming · 22/04/2010 11:39

I do love miraclesuit!!

OllieWollieWoo · 22/04/2010 11:48

Quick hello and goodbye from me - just finishing off sorting everything before I head off to the airport. MIL over in a hour or so to look after DS2 and pick up DS1 from school as DH at a conference. MIL rang last night to see if I could make alternative arrangements for the boys as my SIL's DD was poorly and SIL wanted MIL to have her today (her and DH never like to take days off from work!). I normally would try to be accommodating but said no this time - MIL lets me down quite often when SIL needs MIL to run around after her kids and and I get a bit fed up about it(bitter & twisted me?).

Weather looks good for London so hope I dont get too hot and bothered running around! Had my usual faff packing.

Sorry to hear your poorly LTEC - sounds like you are v run down. I understand so well re DH's list of jobs and frustration at them not getting done. I just threaten DH with getting someone in to do them and the thought of spending money spurs him into action. Tho have noticed that he does one job and then basks in the glory of doing it (eg pointing out the new light fitting to anyone that comes in the house) for several weeks instead of getting on with another job!

Have a good couple of days everyone - will report back on Sunday.

OP posts:
traceybath · 22/04/2010 12:13

Just a quickie. LTEC - go to Drs - quite possibly a chest infections.

Right have scraped car badly so need to sort out insurance stuff. Back later to catch up properly.

mrsjuan · 22/04/2010 12:40

Cake - I haven't been XS is anything for years and v much doubt I am smaller than you - shorter, yes but rounder - I will give the smalls a try.

That's pretty much what I had been envisioning wrt the cake - it's the icing & decoration side that I need inspiration for.

Having one of those days today. Phoebe is out of sorts - v whingy and has managed to bash her head 3 times already - hey ho.

Tracey - what a bugger about your car - hope you can get it sorted easily.

Oh bloody hell- make that 4 times. Had better go and be a better mother!

blossoming · 22/04/2010 12:58

ltec you sound run down (concerned).
You are amazing at multi tasking and juggling but you must look after yourself (stern ex teacher).
Hope you get time to enjoy the sunshine this afternoon and hope you've made up with mr cake.

traceybath · 22/04/2010 13:16

Right have caught up.

Bunny - I feel so about the uniqlo skinnies but think the coloured ones are probably very different to the ones you have.

Carciofi - I love the red dress.

Blossoming - hope the j brands are nice - will they arrive tomorrow do you think?

Ollie - jigsaw and comptoir have both got some gorgeous stuff in.

Can't believe I scraped car so badly on concrete wall in car park. Had to go for coffee and shopping to recover from annoyance at myself.

Esher - how did DD and you get on at new school.

bunnymother · 22/04/2010 13:25

oh Tracey, so sorry to hear about the car! Don't feel about the Uniqlo skinnies - I am kidding!

Cakey - does sound like a trip to the Dr is in order. I understandy about the DH home negligence issues. My Dh doesn't lift a finger around our place. Mostly I don't care, but when I do actually ask him to do something, he agrees and then doesn't do it, then, as an Australian band once sang "I see , I see , I see [red].."

OWW - well done on the standing firm w MIL re childcare. Have a great trip!

MrsJuan - Delie often topples over, too, some days more than others. Leads to v cranky baby, doesn't it?!

blossoming · 22/04/2010 13:47

tracey, I hope so.
Just been through my wardrobe - ah the plus of having my room back during naps! and tried on my russell & bromley patent pumps with slight platform. Anyone know them? Like these only lower. I have them in suede aswell.
Anyway, now I've fake tanned in prep for boden beach clothes order, and my feet look nice and brown, I think they might do as footwear with new jeans. My feet are normally so white, when I've tried it before I haven't been so sure. They looked good with the paige, and I hope the jbrands are going to be just that little bit darker. I love these, but they haven't got my size. And these.
I wonder if I can wait till my London trip, or will I have to orchestrate a trip to Chester next week for Zara and R&B?!
Dh is in Greenwich. He just phoned to complain about the wind. Sunscreen ladies!

DolceeBanana · 22/04/2010 14:00

Cakey - Hey matey! Hope you are having some fun in the sun with the boys! Mr Cake is probably 'work focused'; they honestly just don't think sometimes do they? And we, being ever such gracious and accomodating women , well, we normally are, take everything in our stride until the last straw .... You sound like you need some medicine so good decision to make that Docs appt.... Just to make you feel better, remember Mr Cake was dashing around London last week trying to find D & G Drama when you feel ... !!! And this is a man who sounds like he eschews that sort of thing normally! I.e. I bet he prefers you 'au naturel'....

I shall try and be so understanding when my own little darling does something to make me You could always hold off on washing his pants/socks until you get your jobs done!!!!!

We are toilet training DD (2.5)....she is being v good...! Weed several times in loo!!! But refused point blank to wear nappy to bed (for nap, which she still needs), so fingers crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

traceybath · 22/04/2010 14:05

Blossoming - love the zippy choos!

DolceeBanana · 22/04/2010 14:07

Carciofi - thanks for rec on Bloch - will suss them out

Tracey - oh poo on scraping car....was the bloody Podium? Its a nightmare in there, so cramped...I hate things like that.

Almost had a thromb the other day when a yoof cut me up at a roundabout and I had my window down and honestly in normal volume speech in the car I said ' absolute berk , as he nearly collided with me....well, he heard and proceeded to swear very loudly and aggressively, so up went the windows and off I shot, out of his way!!! I too was v shaken, so proceeded to the nearest shop, which happened to be a childrens clothes shop and of course had retail therapy!

Apuski - when is your baby due?
