Tracey - I empathise! Far from me to make this a bitch about DHs sesh, but I have had a bit of a tiff with my DH this eve...he NEVER lets me moan or grump about anything!!!! He says v irritating things like, 'well....how do others cope?'....I'm not saying I can't cope you ninkumpoop...! I'm just having a moan.....Bloody Helll!!!!!!
Is it me, or do you feel up against it like, ALL the bloody time!!!! Whereas they (DHs), swan around, 'playing' with kids and telling you not to get stressed about it!!!!!! Pah..........

Oh Roman, I can't think of anything worse than Disneyland. I know I will have to succumb at some point but ......

My DH thinks its a good idea to take a 3.5 and 2.5 Motor Racing...????Eh?????? We're talking Castle Combe not Monaco by the way!!!! Oh, I'll stop my nit picking now!

DolceeBanana · 25/04/2010 21:09

Red - I have a Charlie...

I'm sorry girls....v hormonal at the moment (does it show!!!? smirk)....

CHOOGIRL · 25/04/2010 21:10

Roman We are off to worship at the altar of Disney next weekend. 1 night two days - eyepoppingly expensive imho. We're staying at New York. I've been before I had DD and still trying to get the Small World tune out of my head.
I wish you all were my rl friends. I LOVE magazines. Think I am like Plum with my avidness. Red, EasyLiving, Vogue (US and UK), Grazia, Sunday Times, In Style, Tatler, Harpers and Heat. When travelling, I take OK and Sunday Times travel from the lounge.

Has anyone bought anything from MyWardrobe this weekend. I got this. By the time I took off the 30%, gift codes and cashback, I think it will cost be about £20! So very wise. Will report back when it arrives.

Also these arrived at the weekend .

LTEC have e-mailed you. Hope you are ok

DolceeBanana · 25/04/2010 21:11

He's away on biz tomorrow and I told him I would be exercising his card whilst he was away - he ignored......

CHOOGIRL · 25/04/2010 21:12

Forgot to mention I have silver madrids. I sometimes have my toes minxed silver and toes look like little mirrors. Remember Birkies = foot maintenance. Can't stand seeing Birkies and crusty heels. Eww

DolceeBanana · 25/04/2010 21:14

Hiya Choo - Love the dress and pumps!!!! V stylish as ever!

In fact, have decided I need a dress like this for summer....I was thinking it a more dinner dress rather than as they specified day dress.....

redshoesnoknickers · 25/04/2010 21:17

Lovely dress choogirl I did a wardrobe cull earlier and realised I have not got many patterned clothes - mostly single colour items so am going to try to break my "mono" habit I think...I also discovered I need need new black evening sandals as the pair I have from Moda in Pelle are bloody excruciating! And I am not one to shy away from a bit of suffering for great shoes but these are ridiculous so any suggestions for some fairly classic, very high heeled black shoes for evening wearing up to £100ish would be lovely please

Romanarama · 25/04/2010 21:26

I'll get back to S&B, but just to say, Choo and Red that we stayed at the New York for 2 nights (but didn't get there until around 4pm on the first day as had some stuff to do in the morning, so had about 2 full days equivalent).

Despite the price, the hotel breakfast doesn't include real coffee, just nescafé from a machine, which I thought was a real shocker. The swimming pool is nice for the kids. Don't do what we did and spend hours in the park, then go to your pre-booked 'character meal' at 8pm when you're all so tired that you just couldn't give a sh*t about having your photo with mickey or whoever. Many kids were so excited at seeing the characters at the restaurant, but mine weren't at all. (We went to Café Mickey, and the staff were all rather rude and the whole place kept bursting into 'happy birthday' as they brought out a cake for some child - there were literally 7 birthdays that evening. It was quite annoying).

We didn't go, but the Val d'Europe outlet - 5 mins away - has an impressive list of stores, so you might want to factor that in. There was Burberry, and Jimmy Choo, and lots of other good brands.

What's up with Cake? She hasn't been on here or fb since Thursday. Perhaps she is really ill?

DolceeBanana · 25/04/2010 21:28

Yeah! Have silver Madrids too (oh and pink, blue, brown-I'm def a bit of a collector of things!)....wasn't sure I would wear them this summer though! Agree wholeheartedly with foot maintenance....although does anyone else think that B's seem to make your feet dirtier for some reason?

blossoming · 25/04/2010 21:34

Yes, really worried about cakey.

eshermummy · 25/04/2010 21:42

hi all

Choo - tell me more about minxing - love the sound of mirrored toenails! where do you get it done in town?
Try as I might I couldn't find anything I really loved on My W the other night. Love the Choo's.

Cake - getting a bit worried that you are really poorly . Hope you are ok and that we hear from you soon.

Tracey/Dolcmee - todally get where you are coming from with the DH's. Mine's the same. I had a last minute invite to go out for drinks with group of girlfriend's last night in Soho. Gawd, anyone would think DH had been left with the dd's for a week the way he puffed and panted about having to put them to bed , then he had to have a lie-in this morning to recover.......

Had great time out last night with girls although was feeling the aftereffects of quite so many gin mojitos today . Wore new H&M garden collection cream smock top (which everyone thought was designer and could NOT believe was H&M ), oasis black jeggings, elizabeth & james black blazer (outnet) and chie mihara gold gladiator platform sandals.

eshermummy · 25/04/2010 21:47

Roman - am so pleased that your advice is to wait until DC's are at least 5 before doing Disney - dd2 only 3 so can legitimately put it off for another couple of years

God, have any of you lot done Centerparcs? I had a look at it online and I really really am not sure that I can . The dining options looked sooo horrendous, like spending a week in a motorway services or giant food-court or am I being ridiculous?

VerityBrulee · 25/04/2010 21:47

Choogirl you are a temptress, there are some gorgeous dresses on MW at the moment, so I am sitting on my hands trying to resist.

Magazine addict here, I have every edition of UK Vogue since 1981 and every US Vogue since 1983! I also have all the US Bazaars from the 90s when Liz Tilberis was editor. The editions up to about 2006 are all boxed in order and in storage, everything since then is piled up all over the house, in every spare nook and cranny are magazines I also get Harpers, Easy Living, Red, Vanity Fair, Living Etc, and Australian Vogue Living most months, but tear out the pages I want then pass them onto the local hospital. I wouldn't dream of calculating how much I spend on magazines, I just don't want to know!

I am trying not to worry about Cakey, I hope she is just taking a break and resting. If you are reading, then (((big un-mumsnet hugs)))

Explain minxing.

CHOOGIRL · 25/04/2010 21:59

Esher I get mine done here Lasts about 6 weeks.

Verity You have almost 30 years' of Vogue. WOW.

VerityBrulee · 25/04/2010 22:00

I'm for you too everything. What did he think you were doing while he was away, taking long baths and painting your nails? Bringing home no treats is Very Unreasonable Behaviour.

blossoming · 25/04/2010 22:01

That is some serious magazine habit verity!

VerityBrulee · 25/04/2010 22:01

Choogirl when I win the lottery, I will have a Vogue room in my mansion

CHOOGIRL · 25/04/2010 22:01

Sorry blossoming. Minxing is like a vinyl that covers your nails. You can get them in arty designs. I just go for gold or silver and on my toes only.

here

VerityBrulee · 25/04/2010 22:05

Blossoming I am very abstemious in other ways, but magazines are my weakness!

Roman I have almost come to the point of booking Disney on a few occasions, but I've never been able to actually do the deed. It's all so rampantly consumerist, not to mention ££££. I might have to cut back on my magazines if I took 3 dc and I'm not having that

notyummy · 25/04/2010 22:14

Just as an aside, and as balm to you all after the not-very-relaxing-family-holiday options of Disney and Centerparcs (have only done Disney - can't comment on Centerparcs..). I have been here twice, and it certainly more stylish with better food and less consumerish child options. That said - it won't be any cheaper. 2 fab holidays though! I almost don't want to let the cat out of the bag...

Loving the dress choo

eshermummy · 25/04/2010 22:15

Thanks for that Choo - just to clarify does the £38 charge for minxing include the pedi part too i.e. will they sort your feet/heels/cut and shape nails or do you have to add pedi cost to that?

Verity - did you order the mint velvet nude jeans in the end?

VerityBrulee · 25/04/2010 22:25

Esher I had meant to post but forgotten all about my rather distressing changing room encounter with a pair of nude coloured skinny jeans yesterday They weren't the Mint Velvets, but a 99Euro pair by Ilse Jacobsen. Lovely colour, fabric, etc, but when I tried them on the first thought that came into my mind was of sausage casings I was a bit fed up considering I'm now an 8 due to giving up bread.

So nude skinny jeans have been crossed off my list!
