MM is that a general question or directed at someone in partic?

Roman your house (and family) look beautiful - will have a proper look when not on dinky iPod.

Couscous is the laziest thing I make that ds1 loves, had it tonight. A lifesaver as ds2 wanted to be carried alot today. Boil water and add, cripes I'm tired.

LetThemEatCake · 15/04/2010 17:46

MM how is this dress for you?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 15/04/2010 17:53

or this? could you wear a bra with this?

Here are some lazy efficient child-friendly meals:

  • cheese sticks (chopped yourself)
  • M&S ready prepped carrot batons, broccoli and cauliflower portions (perfect size packet is the 2 for £1 in terms of what Delie eats)
  • spinach & cheese ravioli (stirred w butter through)
  • meatballs (come ready made from M&S or Waitrose)
  • M&S now do a children's lasagne
  • frittata w vegetables finely chopped/grated and topped w grated cheese
  • roast chicken (can buy breast portion from M&S or Waitrose)

Delie eats the top 2 most nights, and then any of the below. She hates tomato anything, otherwise pasta w a tomato sauce would also be v good.

Romanarama · 15/04/2010 19:12

tomato sauce with a spoon of mascarpone stirred in is less acidic and more yummy. Is this a recipe thread now?? Or 'parenting' (stupid word!)?

Romanarama · 15/04/2010 19:14

I can't see the Reiss links, but love the Jaeger dress. When you go in the shop on Regent's St everything looks horrible, but online there are nice things. Why is that? Are there 10 nice things for 100 horrid ones every season?

Romanarama · 15/04/2010 19:20

There's a sneak peek of the outnet sale items on fb btw

mrsjuan · 15/04/2010 19:29

Cheesy vegetable pasta is my top lazy meal for Phoebe at the moment - I chuck a load of frozen veg in with the pan with the pasta and do a quick cheese sauce. She absolutely loves it and I can make lots and freeze the rest.

Tonight made an effort and did a lamb & apricot tagine and she refused to touch it - grr - think she was too tired to be in the mood for trying anything new - don't know why I bother

bunny - I'm coming to the conclusion that Phoebe doesn't like tomato sauces either but she loves cherry tomatoes.

Any opinions on this top I know, I know it's next but I saw it in the 'flesh' today and was quite taken with it.

traceybath · 15/04/2010 20:06

LTEC - love the reiss dresses! Your dc's have lovely names .

MM - I wore my hasbeens today and I love them, kept looking at them and smiling.

Roman - oooh where on facebook is the outnet - I can't find it .

I cook a lot! And what is ds1's most favourite dinner ever - heinz tomato soup - not that soup you make mummy. I ask you.

LetThemEatCake · 15/04/2010 20:11

MrsJ i have no issue with Next but I don't much care for double details, so the lace straps kill it for me, I'm afraid

tracey am so excited you wore your hasbeens but will you pls tell me what you are wearing for your dh's bday dinner!!

OP posts:
traceybath · 15/04/2010 20:17

I don't know what to wear. Definitely going to be a dress but not sure yet - depends on the weather I think.

When is your DH's party?

traceybath · 15/04/2010 20:20

Aha - found the outnet page on facebook. There's a metallic chloe bag on there which will be in the sale.

My strategy is going to be to go straight for bags.

LetThemEatCake · 15/04/2010 20:23

Sat 24th. Just here at home, hopefully weather good so we can be outside. Am hoping to wear this with metallic strappy flats

all this talk of food .... make sure you all watch the new Jamie Does series, Weds at 9pm on 4 ... shot by MrCake himself ...

OMG Tracey

if you are who i think you are then we have a mutual friend - an ex of mine, no less

initials JD, currently in Oz???

Romanarama · 15/04/2010 20:28

Cosmic snakeskin!! That is sooo cool! Your dh has hung out in the kitchen with Jamie Oliver? Sigh. I love him, every dinner party I ever do is Jamie with a hint of Nigella. Goes down a storm every time.

('cept with the dcs of course who prefer hot dogs made from 'mechanically recovered meat' [vom])

what are you doing on Saturday Tracey? I have a bad feeling about my flight leaving the ground on Saturday

RedBlueRed · 15/04/2010 20:31

Hi everyone, hope all are well, had a good nights sleep and no-ones hols are going to be affected by ash?

LTEC Thank you so much for finding me and letting me know about the Hasbeens @ Urban Outfitters. I'm just outside Manchester so in theory could nip in for them.

Really, really want to get a pair but I just cannot justify the spend until I know I have a job to go to.

Besides, if I get them I shall need a stylish new pair of gap jeans, a gorgeous top, a navy blazer and that Prada tote I have my eye on. (Yes I am kidding myself about the Prada )

I have also been avoiding this thread today as everytime I click a link I get sidetracked looking at other things when I should be job hunting. Very silly of me.

traceybath · 15/04/2010 20:41

Really! I can only think of one Australian male I know who was a John but I can't remember his surname.

LetThemEatCake · 15/04/2010 20:45

tracey I mean a mutual friend on FB.

He's not Aussie, he's from Bristol/ Bath. But in Oz at the moment. He's an Arsenal supporter, most of his status updates are to that effect. Has a girlfriend starting with V, very curly hair. Won a lot of money at the Grand National last year...

Fingers crossed for your flight Roman.

We're just going out for dinner locally on Saturday night as its DH's birthday but looking forward to it.

I did laugh to myself earlier as looked down at my hasbeens and my toenails painted with 505.

MarshaBrady · 15/04/2010 20:52

Ok feeling rejuvenated. Dh stepped in, put ds1 to bed, has ds2.

Fabulous.

Now, have joined blasted fb just to look at the outnet page and the blinking thing just listed millions of old friends at me when I registered. Shocked!

Anyway only two pics aren't there, not that much to see really.

Feel like buying something. I really do like that Zebra top Roman....

traceybath · 15/04/2010 20:55

DH has just said I might as well buy a lottery ticket as to try and buy something 'decent' on the outnet sale. Sadly I think he's right.

LetThemEatCake · 15/04/2010 21:00

my dh was working in Soho today. Has come home bearing D&G Drama. Went to Selfridges on his lunchbreak. Bless him!!

Thats so sweet LTEC - I did laugh at him looking for it in Boots.

Now is JO as lovely in RL as he appears - I always think his wife seems fab too.
