MrsJ - well done on first day back!

DS1 was a total nightmare - reflux, cried all the time, ds2 a total dream baby and dd is a total monkey. But it really does get so much easier each time.

I love having 3 although number 3 was a surprise.

Right - tried dress on for DH who loves it. So off to tailor tomorrow to get it taken up and see if he can possibly let the waist out by about 1 cm so that I can actually breathe.

Everything - difficult times - hope you come to the decision thats best for you all. I do think though that small dc's can put a big strain on your relationship.

LTEC I am now officially worried about you - please post that you're ok.

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 20:45

cakey fb'd about 3 hours ago, so she's alive, don't worry! (Or she was 3 hrs ago....)

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 20:45

fb'd about what she had on, obviously

Fleecy · 20/04/2010 20:48

everything am I right in thinking you've been together since uni? Have you missed a Relate session while he's been away?

fel1x I feel your pain. Mine are 3 and 2 and I was dithering about whether or not I want a third, decided I did and DH decided he really does not. I have asked him to think about his reasons for stopping at two so we can talk about it.

I have also found out I have a tilted womb which in and of itself is not a problem. But (tmi alert!) it is pressing on my bowel so I have to go and see a bowel specialist and gynaecologist to see what they want to do about it. Which means I would like to get a final decision from DH earlier so I can discuss my options - if I'm going to have another pregnancy, I don't see the need to do anything. But I think if I force the issue, he'll say no for good. Ah what to do?!

roman good news about your DH

I put on 3st7lb with DD and only lost 1st7 afterwards, just couldn't shift it. So got pregnant with DS carrying loads of extra weight. Luckily after having him, it came off again but it was a lot of hard work. If (if, if!) DH changes his mind I should be 33/34 so hopefully the weight would come off again...

traceybath · 20/04/2010 20:49

LOL

Am just watching Miss Dahl - it is hilarious.

Roman - do you know what your dh has bought you or are you getting surprises? And have you trained DS's to look delighted when they get their RL shirts?

traceybath · 20/04/2010 20:52

I put on a lot less with dc3 and its come off a lot quicker - less time to sit and eat cake

Also this thread makes me want to wear nice stuff and not be too fat.

Fleecy · 20/04/2010 20:55

tracey it was ice cream and twix chocolate bars with DD. My weight gain served me right!

I was much more careful second time round but the damage was already done

traceybath · 20/04/2010 21:02

Fleecy - it was m&s iced buns with the boys! I gained about 4 stone with each of them which is more than half my normal weight - I was totally round as had dreadful water retention too. I tell you - I was not a looker when pregnant.

With DD - I just felt so dreadful and DS2 was still being carried everywhere so gained a lot less.

Definitely have the crepey tummy though and lordy alone knows what boobs will be like when I stop bf.

Golly - I do make myself sound so attractive

blossoming · 20/04/2010 21:04

I overloaded with fat: bacon sandwiches, croissants, hula hoops, scampi, chips and wispa gold. Written down that's appalling!!
Totally serves me right too.
Have never been so unhealthy in all my life. Well apart from when I barely ate, just smoked...!

LetThemEatCake · 20/04/2010 21:05

hello hello - sorry, a few things going on but honestly nothing to worry about, all well here inc a baby who is now sleeping good long stretches thanks to the inclusion of some carbs in my joke of a diet. Thanks for talking some sense into me, I am 100% one for getting carried away.

Thanks for your concern, feel all glowy and it's not even the Brazil Nuts {wink]

MrsJ - my cake expertise, aka The Australian Woman's Weekly, awaits you. Well done on first day back at work.

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 21:09

tracey If I understood right I'm getting these and these (I sent him to J Brand, being sure that the 26 would fit). I hope there's more, he has very good taste and has been known to spontaneously buy all sorts of handbags, jewellery and designer clothes, though this trip he was a bit stressed out... I hope he left RL empty-handed in the end too. Buying RL shirts for our children is like slaving over the stove preparing them elaborate food. They curl their top lip and leave you feeling annoyed with them for being ungrateful!

What's Miss Dahl? Is that Sophie Dahl? I've just been reading Roald Dahl (George's Marvellous Medicine), I love those books.

Everything when are you expecting your dh back?

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 21:11

Hello cake! What is a flanny?

traceybath · 20/04/2010 21:17

Roman - I love those khakis and J brand very flattering.

Yes, ds1 is always very unimpressed with a gift of clothes although dh did get him a vintage superman t-shirt last time he was in the US which was very popular.

It is Sophie Dahl - she has a cookery programme on bbc2 - I like her but its very nigella'esque.

LetThemEatCake · 20/04/2010 21:21

Roman it's what we Awstraaaalians call a checked or plaid shirt made from flannelette. Best accessorised with a pack of Winnie Blues peeking out of front pocket

Nearly time for a new title W&A's! As per usual I will sit here and go through some in my head and decide they are all pants and wait for someone cleverer than me!

Everything - really feel for you but sounds like you are taking steps. Agree with everything the others have said re kids putting a strain on reltionships. DH works long hours and some evenings after a day with the boys I barely have the energy to to talk to him. I acually cherish the nights DH is away and do the whole cereal for dinner and trashy TV thing (speaking of which, watched Running in Heels last night - fab!).

We are sticking with two - DH went thro a phase of wanting a third so I used to engineer a weekend away leaving him with the boys and by the time I got home he was agreeing we should stick with two. Second children are def easier to cope with tho imo!

Romanarama · 20/04/2010 21:31

OWW glad it's not just me. Cereal in bed and Mad Men again for me this eve!

OllieWollieWoo · 20/04/2010 21:31

Oh tracey M&S iced buns - I love those and usually grab a couple of my way thro Luton airport back here (the round spicey ones with the icing are my favourites!) When I was pregnant with DS1, one of the few things I could hold down was a M&S raspberry royal - ate one every day! Now I can't face them!

Glad the W&A babies are sleeping well too - make such a difference to your general wellbeing doesn't it!

Fleecy · 20/04/2010 21:51

all this food talk is making me hungry. Have had some grapes and a small piece of cheese

Glad the littlest ones are sleeping better. I always think I can cope with almost anything in the day as long as I get my sleep!

I tried out the whole peep toe ankle boots with rolled up boyfriend jeans and a bit of ankle showing today and loved it. Wore grey boots and dark jeans with navy AV t-shirt, patterned scarf and biker jacket. Felt good - so that's my new look sorted for the next few weeks

blossoming · 20/04/2010 21:57

Sounds like a great look fleecy.
Glad you're okay ltec.
Lovely jbrands roman, but dear me, a 26! I'm looking forward to my 31s fitting better!
Have been to gym and had a long walk as dh away for next 2 days, so will have to do the blast off belly fat dvd, which is really difficult if I remember, and I don't think I can actually do it.
Also, have been without sugar for 2 days. So weight is falling off as I speak. (Ha, I wish).

Cakey glad you're ok. Was getting worried too.

We've been discussing ttc our next LO recently & think we might start end of summer. It's a bit fraught for us though so we'll see.

Fleecy outfit sounds great.

You lot are all so skinny! I'm one of the slimest mums I know (apart from no boob beanpoles like my 2 6ft odd best mates) but am 10-12 and not one bit skinny. I love food & wine too much to be properly thin again.

Right, two questions. Belt help anyone? Secondly, if I can fly to Italy on Sunday should I? Worried about getting stuck, if it's safe etc.

Night all.

monkeysmama · 21/04/2010 00:00

My spg is bad tonight. I meant I am the most slim, not anything to do with slime .

Entirely forgot what I wanted to say.

Everything I feel really reading your posts today. Relationship pain, especially with a LO
involved, is horrible. We went through a hard patch when dd was about 6mo and I was in emotional agony about it. Sadly I also know how it feels to be with someone for so long & for things to change (or not). I have very different views on love & stuff to most people but I genuinely believe love gets through anything. And that, if you decide it's not right, love for yourself and your son will get you through hard times. Life should be mostly joyous. Everyone deserves that. Sending you a hug.
