Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

OP posts:
Whelk · 29/03/2010 20:48

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss vinauchocolate, and all of the others who have lost children.

I have ordered the parka and am now after some summery tops. What do you think of this

I would love a dc3. But dh not so keen. (He's an accountant and yorkshireman. Is there anyone more careful with money in the known universe?)

eshermummy · 29/03/2010 20:55

Roman - ha ha maybe I will suggest that wallpaper to DH for the family room!

Whelk - that top doesn't do much for me I'm afraid but I forgot to link to this in the vanilla earlier - we had a butterfly moment earlier on the thread did we not but don't know if this was linked to?

Lots of nice summer tops on the great plains site actually

OllieWollieWoo · 29/03/2010 21:01

Whelk - I can match your DH with mine - try a Dutchman who's a banker! Bad combination when it comes to spending money!

Roman - this is the LA Erin range:
here Slightly more subtle than your link!

OllieWollieWoo · 29/03/2010 21:06

Ted Baker has some ok stuff with butterflies on at the mo.
Not that I am obsessed with LA at the mo but I love this photoframe so pretty!

Whelk · 29/03/2010 21:31

lol at OllyWollyWoo - god bless the long pockets!!! Are you stopping at two then?

OllieWollieWoo · 29/03/2010 21:45

Yes - and have pretty much sold or given away all baby related equipment as DH has only just got over the cost of it all 4.5 years ago - there is no way he would buy it all again!

Zembo · 29/03/2010 21:56

Whelk I think you'll be able to find lovelier tops than the one you linked too.

I've seen this 'school run coat'on another thread. I'm kind of considering the petite one in brown but wondering what the A&W ladies would advise?

I could have done with being a bit warmer this winter - I wore a ski jacket which is too short to do the job properly. The North Face coats are huge on me. Not sure if I should just wait until next year? Not the most attractive coat but not convinced that practicality and style can go together for this purpose

OllieWollieWoo · 29/03/2010 22:03

My advice - get it. Think Blossoming has one and says its toasty. I have a long duvet coat from Zara - and I love it. Always warm even when standing around playgrounds etc and think that overides any style considerations. Its a v good price - you could always ebay next winter if you see something nicer?

blossoming · 29/03/2010 22:10

Zembo, that's my thread!

The way I see it is that you still look stylish underneath when you take it off instead of looking like a drowned rat!

carciofi · 29/03/2010 22:38

I have tried to post three times and my laptop keeps crashing, grr.

Vin (and so many others ), very sorry about the loss of your daughter.

Not a fan of double denim so will be avoiding this trend.

Roman, well done on the interview, hope the job offers come rolling in.

Ollie, Esher, Roman, really like the shoes.

I have a duvet coat, maybe not elegant but I hate being cold.

Can I have your opinions on these bags? I sold my red LV bag as I went off LV but I still love red bags. Marc Jacobs, Foley & Corinna or Rebecca Minkoff. I'm working on a shopping list for my bro.

eshermummy · 29/03/2010 22:57

Carciofi - am not keen on the MJ but purely because I think there are too many cheapo rip-off versions of that quilted gilt chain across the body bag around at the moment. Was in my local shopping centre today and virtually every chavvy teen was sporting one.
I like the other two although the RM one is more of a classic than the F&C foldover so depends what you are after really. I think personally I would be drawn more towards the RM one but the F&C one is a particularly lovely shade of tomato-y red.

Has anyone successfully used the instyleextra20 code on the Outnet yet? Still no joy, may ring them tomorrow and ask why it is not working.

AllBuggiedOut · 29/03/2010 23:17

Carciofi also not keen on the MJ. Adore the F&C when folded, although 19" is very long and wonder whether the proportions would be a bit odd when across the body. Not keen on it unfolded. As eshermummy says, the RM is classic.

blossoming · 30/03/2010 07:21

Carciofi, I too love a red bag. I have a gucci one I bought years ago with money I got after my gran died. It's small and fits snugly under the arm. I bought it in the Monaco branch of gucci in the summer before marriage and dc1. It looks lovely with nautical stuff.
I too prefer the RM.

traceybath · 30/03/2010 08:20

Blossoming - I too have a red gucci bag bought in 2003 in Hong Kong when I was staying with a friend - I wonder if they're the same ones . . .

Why does all the butterfly stuff appear to have so much polyester in it. Am a bit about how much polyester there is around at the moment especially in quite expensive stuff.

traceybath · 30/03/2010 08:21

LTEC - hope you had a good night.

This is the body lotion that was written about in the Times. Apparently it will give us the legs of a super model.

Fel1x · 30/03/2010 08:50

Good prices on the landsend site!
I too need a school run coat and cant decide between
the parka in grey
the down jacket in brown

am also considering getting this rain mac in cerise as a spring rain mac/school run jacket when I dont need the warmth

What do you think?

Hope your night out was fun LTEC

carciofi · 30/03/2010 09:01

I need that cream, Tracey!

Thanks, the MJ one is definitely off the list. I now just need to persuade DH that I need a red bag. ;)

Fel1x, I like the raincoat best (colour and shape).

blossoming · 30/03/2010 10:10

Ooh Traceybath my red gucci is 2003 too!

Sorry can't open all the links but the Landsend coats are great value as will last and last, and by next season they'll be back to full price again.

Really didn't want to take mine to Paris next week though. But I've been cold and wet in Paris before so unless the weather really perks up I think I'll have to.

Wonder if there are any stylish parisiennes lurking who can give me a weather update?

traceybath · 30/03/2010 10:12

Blossoming - you need to ask Bonsoir - she was wearing sandals on the what are you wearing thread yesterday so hopefully that means the weather is nice.

traceybath · 30/03/2010 11:13

Ossie maxi

Very nice for you tall ladies.

traceybath · 30/03/2010 11:15

Anyone getting married?

DolceeBanana · 30/03/2010 13:47

Vin - so sorry to hear about your baby girl!

And my heart goes out to you too LTEC and all of you lovely souls who have lost babes and miscarried - I am sooo emotional all the time, having a newbie (well, 6 months myself, plus the other two), and I really feel for you guys....xx

And its the end of 'One Born Every Minute' tonight, so another evening of sobbing lies in stall!!!! Can't help but watch it - but last weeks was heart rending!!!

Yes a cottage in Cornwall is exciting...can't wait to find it - and yes Tracey we are looking for main home too- so double the trouble...but I'm (sadly!) really into all of that and so am in my element...!

In my dreams I would love to have a 'posh' B & B, because I am quite sociable, except I'm way too uptight...I would want people to appreciate things and 'look after' them, but although most would I guess, some wouldn't. My DH thinks I would get far too wound up!

Tracey - sorry to hear that Bea is refusing bottle....have you tried Tommee Tippee 'Closer to Nature' range?... and I found getting someone else (i.e. Daddy) to give the bottle usually works...Good luck - I expect you've tried these things already though so humour me if so!!!

Bloody weather! Where is the Spring.?..I've even defuzzed!!!!!! Hate this weather, it makes me such a grouch!

Off to buy the Stokke high chair (for babe)....our third...We shall end up looking like a Mamas and Papas show room at this rate!

DolceeBanana · 30/03/2010 16:57

Well - a surprisingly successful few hours making things here...sword - check! shield - check! princess crown - check! princess 'bangle' -check! Feeling like a good mummy today having spent hours with kiddies playing, but masses to do now- so here I am on Mumsnet!!!!!!

Funnily, mine constantly want 'stories with my voice too'!! I.e. made up ones....it is interesting...My 2.5 year old DD's 'story, made up by mine own self', went: 'Once upon a time, in a deep, dark wood, there was nuffin', and there was nuffin' in it....the end!'At which point she fell about laughing!
Ho hum.....

Okay, Stokke high chair ordered...yeah...bye bye to back ache at last....

Now, I bloomin' well deserve something...so have booked a day spa at Calcot Manor for some beautifying!

Fel1x · 30/03/2010 18:42

My lovely postman delivered me today
this necklace and these earrings
v pleased with them, they are even nicer in RL!

I also went ahead and ordered school run coat from Landsend... went a bit mad and actually ordered FOUR!!! as I really couldnt decide and need to try them on, so will be sending 2 or 3 of them back once they get here!!
I ordered...
this in brown
this in brown
raincoat in cerise
and this duffle coat in red purely because it is such a bargain and worth a try!

Apart from the avid shopping, we have been to tots group this morning where we made easter baskets and the library this afternoon, so a good day all round
