Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

Moneyspider · 26/03/2010 12:44

Some of these are fab!

Fleecy · 26/03/2010 12:52

Hello all,

The Paris thing sounds very exciting teafortwo

I have popped in to report on my latest shops. Have shopped avidly with three big shops being delivered in the last fortnight - but wisely with most stuff going straight back!

Am keeping this from my Tesco order. It's just about long enough for rats if you have a smallish bottom. Am showing a little underbum but not the whole thing. Wearing a black t-shirt underneath today but it looks nice with a vest under.

Also keeping these which are very flattering on and will work with flats and heels, and this because, like Tracey, I'm partial to a bit of animal print, especially on holiday! 20% off everything so bargainous.

Everything from New Look is going back except this which is very cute, super cheap and the sort of thing you can just throw on and go.

Sorry to hear you had a bad night again tracey but glad to hear you enjoyed your birthday hana Are you tempted by any of the Selfridges jeans in particular?

AllBuggiedOut · 26/03/2010 13:00

Apparently the UO code expired on Wednesday, but thanks carciofi.

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2010 14:54

who thinks I deserve some RT??

out with the 3dcs for the morning, dd being quite whiney. Clearly not feeling 100%. LTEC decides to abort mission at lunchtime, when dd is clearly not going to eat and is flinging herself around the cafe in a dramatic way. LTEC stops at a Tesco to run in and grab some soup (am on a liquid diet ;-) atm) This takes 2 minutes yet when I run back to the car, I discover both boys asleep and dd has thrown up all over the car. Our house is up a flight of steps from the street so when we get home I have to carry each boy up sleeping (ds1 has the build of a 4year old rugby player) and then try and extricate hysterical dd from pool of vomit, get her inside, strip her off etc)

I mean, surely a purchase is justified??

carci I emoticon Hush and think that top? dress?? is overpriced and a bit nothing. Although am not surprised that it's overpriced as they flew to Palm Beach, Australia for that catalogue shoot - yet where is the beach in any of the photos?? what was the point??

do you think the other parents will sneer at/ shun me if I am overdressed in rats on Mon night??

moneyspider that blazer could work with grey skinnies but you'd have to be this girl
thanks for the maxi - really do have my heart set out on pinks, purples and turquoises though

am with you on the weather tracey - I still want maxi & shorts (black? navy?) but am going to hold off until some of my other W&A purchases have seen light of day. Sorry you had a bad night with Bea - Leon is being a bit random atm too

good shopping fleecy! and congrats on Paris tea - quelle excitement!!

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2010 14:55

ooh dear, not sure what happened there - meant to say that I hate Hush

hellsbelles · 26/03/2010 15:36

Cake- RT most certainly in order.

looking forward to lots of links to your theraputic purchases

You know how I love a bit of drape & stripe? Not sure if this has already been linked to. Very costly though for a teeshirt though!

tummytime · 26/03/2010 16:41

Am going to delurk as I have just been very avid and would like a bit of reassurance that I have also been wise...

I went over to Bicester Village yesterday where they had just had a delivery of DvF dresses so I bought:

this

one in this style but with cream clubs on a navy background both at 100 pounds off plus extra 10% for buying two and

these

I also got a shirt dress from Jigsaw but its a sample so no links

Have I just been foolishly extravagant or very sensible? It is affordable, but might mean I need a bit of a handout from DH next month when my mat pay runs out...

OllieWollieWoo · 26/03/2010 17:55

Evening All - just off out to a fashion show, eld at a posh local boutique! You have no idea how much of a faff I have had getting ready - really not acustom to dressing for such an event! Will report back later or tomorrow - depending on how much of the refreshments I have had! DH has suggested I leave credit card at home - let me think about that for a second - NO!

blossoming · 26/03/2010 18:06

Hi tummytime, I'm a big dvf fan (but scared of pattern). Definitely wise to buy two at sale price, if you love them, obvs, and will wear them, and they will be your 'go to' dresses when you're feeling down. Otherwise, not so wise!

LTEC, I feel for you. Hope your liquid diet includes creme eggs and red wine.
(Do Australians do creme eggs?)

Personally, I'm looking forward for my Friday night red wine and Magners league.

Dc1 is so tired. We don't break up until next Thursday here. He's having tantrums like a 2 year old, and he's 5!

I'm very excited about those indigo m&s jeans in white. I'm definitely going to try them out instead of immediately splashing out on paige ones. I'll just see how i go.

The Selfridges jeans are manically expensive. Honestly, how can Paige cost more in pounds than they do in dollars?

Jeggings arrived, can't wait to try them on. In fact my wardrobe is almost sorted, the only missing pieces at the moment are silver ballet pumps, and the white jeans.

BTW, I've said this before, but I've worn and worn that boden boyfriend cardi in slate, and I've just had delivered another in silver for spring and summer. Here in Wales, if it's not warm, then it's cool, and people's houses are really cold in summer, so I'm always complaining. Not this year!

hellsbelles · 26/03/2010 18:31

Tracey - sorry to hear Bea keeping you up last night.

TT - great for delurking. For smoe reason links aren't working for me. But I love a good DVF dress.

Blossoming DS is the same. He's 7 and they broke up today. We've had tantrum after tantrum and frankly I'm exhausted.

I have to do packing for a trip t/m to celebrate my Grandma's 96th. So will do that then slump on the sofa with a glass of wine and MN- to be followed by 24!

blossoming · 26/03/2010 20:05

Um, just had a look at those white jeans on the m&s site and they don't look skinny enough. Hey ho!

carciofi · 26/03/2010 20:12

Hi Tummytime, I also love DVF and the sandals are great.

LTEC, you are right, the dress is blah. I think you definitely deserve some retail therapy.

Blossoming, it really annoys me that we are charged so much more here for American brands.

I've just ordered these sandals.

Hells, 96, wow, that is a great age. Hope your grandma has a very happy birthday.

blossoming · 26/03/2010 20:56

Nice sandals Carciofi. Tell me why you rate current/elliott so highly.

teafortwo · 26/03/2010 21:13

Summer sandels - ... I can't wait for summer!!!

I felt rather drawn to these this year... but tell me are they pretty, understated and claarrrsy or really completely 100% Grannyfied?

www.aerosoles.com/product1.asp?P=REDISCOVER

TBH I probably won't buy them. I usually end up buying a pair of flippies from Gap or Accesorize... I do love flip flops - I even got married in a pair!!!

OWW - have fun and report back!

LTEC - DEFO go for the rats for your 'parent do' - you only live once and if you love them why not?!?

teafortwo · 26/03/2010 21:27

sandels...

sandals ... what was that about?

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2010 21:28

tea I got married in flip flops too!! But those sandals are very much in keeping with my MiL's wardrobe so I would deffo add an O to "avid" and say AVOID!!

well, dd has been sick again. And my car smells like something died in it Ugh. Fun fun fun.

hells I love that McQ dress.

TT hurrah for delurking! I am not a DVF girl myself (delusionally channels inner rock chick) but I do think they are classic, lovely dresses from which you;ll get a load of wear. Bravo!! Avid and wise!!

LOL Blossoming no I don't do creme eggs although just the other day I was telling dh about one of the fellas who was after me when I first met dd (was fresh off the plane and therefore fair game, therefore had many blokes interested ) and one of his 'wooing" tactics was to buy me a packet of ciggies and a creme egg!! Me, Aussie health nut!! ha ha ha!!

Talk to me about these M&S jeans ladies - why so good??

OWW have a fabulous time tonight, hope we get a tipsy msg from you when you get home!!

hells many happy returns to your grandmother, how wonderful. I really envy those of you (MM is another) with wonderful extended female family a) alive and b) here in the UK

I like the glads carci, sorry I didn't mean to sound ranty/ rude about the Hush dress

Okay - last chance - should I buy this blazer?

blossoming · 26/03/2010 21:49

Love the blazer LTEC. Buy! Buy! Buy!

That bloke sounds great. Creme eggs and fags! I'd have been his in 5 mins!

Re m&s jeans. Someone said they were like topshop marthas. They're a good introduction to skinny jeans. Last week they were on sale for £12.
The white ones aren't the same cut though I don't think.

Fleecy · 26/03/2010 22:02

Speaking of extended family... I am off for a family day out tomorrow with my DC, my sis, my niece, my parents and my Granny. We're taking the children to a local book centre to choose some books in the morning, going to my sister's for lunch altogether then taking the kids for a run around in a stately home park in the afternoon. Am looking forward to it. My sis is only about 10 miles away but it feels like a proper day out, especially when we all go

DH also looking forward to it as he has the house to himself all day - and he's off on a boys night in the evening so perfect day for him!

I think the blazer is classic so you'll wear it on and off for years.

OllieWollieWoo · 26/03/2010 22:08

Just in from the fashion show - was soooooo good! Had lots of stuff from Antik Batik, Malene Birger and a few bits from Ted Baker, Dante 6 (never heard of them but nice stuff) and a fab collection from a company called School Rag (mis-read the label and thought it was School Run!!!) Models were a mix of ages and sizes so nice to see how things looked on. The catwalk was down the middle of the shop with rows of chairs either side. All the models stopped for a photo half way down the runway right before our seats so now my mugshot is on every pic pulling all sorts of reactions - goodness knows what I look like when a pair of baggy shorts that looked like a nappy came down the runway! Something like probably!

Tried these Ted Baker pleated tailored trousers on here which were fab - had them in navy which was more like a dark grey and whilst they look horrible and shiney on the TB website, in RL far less so. V flattering esp with heels. Was about to buy when I clocked the mark up price in euros - worked about about 40 pounds more so will save for when I make a trip back to the UK next month (felt a bit tight putting them back especially when the shop owner is so nice but 40pounds would buy me another piece so made myself feel better by thinking how W & A I was being!)

Wine was served but was a bit warm tbh so did not partake in a second glass (good nibbles tho!)- but then de-camped to the local wine bar and had 2 glasses of cava! Talked wedding stuff with friend who is getting married in Oct which was fun - she has brought a fab silver wedding dress. So all in all a lovely girley evening!

Am waffling now so will skip off to bed! LTEC def think the blazer is a good buy - not seen anything nearly as nice elsewhere.

blossoming · 26/03/2010 22:18

Well I'm now watching the Pixies on sky arts. Dh's favourite band. Reminds me of when we used to play cat and mouse in the early nineties. We finally got together 2001!!!!
Great night Ollie!

carciofi · 26/03/2010 22:19

LTEC, I didn't think you were rude at all. I like the Malene Birger blazer but prefer the APC blazer (and have added it to my wish list!). Can you please link the Love from Australia boots you have again? I have been trawling back through the previous posts but can't find them.

Blossoming, Current Elliots are so comfortable and I think they are very flattering. I like that they have very little detail. Definitely size down though, at least one and maybe two sizes. Still a loyal Paige fan though and may ask my bro to bring me these from NY.

DH is watching a boring movie so I am watching The Delicious Miss Dahl.

blossoming · 26/03/2010 22:20

Have a great day tomorrow Fleecy.

LetThemEatCake · 26/03/2010 22:34

OWW what an ace night! So glad you had fun, you deserve it after that stellar cake effort

carci boots are here

God I am going to have to buy new jeans again too, all of mine are hanging off. You know when your jeans are too big and they make you look fat? Not that I'm complaining, just annoyed that I bought new jeans too hastily.

Am watching the wedding singer - my dh sang me the song from the end scene on the aeroplane on his guitar in the early days of our relationship - better than ciggies and a creme egg!!

I adore Drew Barrymore

carciofi · 26/03/2010 22:39

Thanks LTEC.

I love the Pixies. This Monkey's Gone to Heaven is my ringtone (DH thinks I am sad).

Sounds like a great evening Ollie and enjoy tomorrow, Fleecy.

Night all.

hellsbelles · 26/03/2010 23:09

OWW - wow! Can't get the link to work to the trousers....but sounds like a really good time.

LTEC - listen to you skinny mini - how did you do it? And very romantic to hear about DH singing you songs. My DH used to sing along to the high bit on Frank Zappa's 'baby snakes'. Not quite as romantic

I like the blazer a lot. I'm a bit about the sheer amount of polyester but it looks like a good shape and length.

Blossoming - I too am a current elliot fan (I've got the jeggings). Comfort in the extreme and so flattering (with bottom covering tops!). Very very expensive but I am happy with them.

So t/m my family are going to be subjected to my Rick Owens jersey dress with a very cosy James pearse black cashmere cardi thing left over from maternity times! And I'm going to risk strappy black flats. I'll probably freeze though as bare legs are a risk. And I suspect that I would be much more appreciated if I wore a nice floral dress. Which I don't have.
