Wonder how quickly we'll fill this one?

marking my place with a well shod foot...

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 10:48

Plum has your coat arrived yet??

who likes this??

my gory children keep asking me to play them a you tube video of the Cyclops story, complete with his eye being gouged out. They are totally obsessed.

greedygoose · 12/03/2010 10:53

LTEC, think that is lush, fear it would not do my AA norks justice! Very pretty pattern tho...am loving the thought of digging my maxi dress out.

LTEC - I like the style of that dress but not sure about the pattern. I like the other dress but is a little too voluminious - I envisage you in something slinkier.

Fleecy · 12/03/2010 11:30

I quite like it - it's quirky but not in an annoyingly 'look at me, all quirky' way iyswim.

Yes, the maxis I've ordered are the £15 tank ones. I figured they'd be easy to dress up with belt/shoes/jewellery/sunnies and get different looks from the basic dress. I have a black above the knee one that's fab and these look along the same lines, but longer.

My Steve Madden shoes arrived today and they're gorgeous. Lovely shiny dark wood heels! They look nautical so they'll work well for that but because the trim is brown they'll be more versatile. I have a tan Baywater and I think they'll look nice with that but not too matchy!

OllieWollieWoo · 12/03/2010 11:40

Love the new title Plum!

traceybath · 12/03/2010 11:55

Oh very exciting - Harvey Nicks have just phoned to say they've got some 505 in and there's a bottle waiting for me.

So Bea and I are off to Bristol tomorrow.

However generally I want to spend a lot less this month.

What I actually need are casual summer dresses and sandals and underwear.

Fleecy · 12/03/2010 12:07

For those of you who are interested, Cocosa have a twenty8twelve sale on now. I haven't looked as I too am not spending

traceybath · 12/03/2010 12:53

LTEC - possible maxi.

RageAgainstTheWashingMachine · 12/03/2010 13:03

reallygrumpy I ordered the Layla in the Oyster and the Black. Also have dark hair pale skin (though more morticia adams than dita von teese . The Oyster made me look washed out but would be great with a tan - so would go for the Taupe (but why not do as Roma suggested and order both - free delivery at the moment).

bunnymother · 12/03/2010 13:32

Tracey - love that ASOS maxi!! It looks pretty sheer, but would be beautiful w Cakey's colouring. And I love that empire bust - good place for a dress to drop from, for me.

Cakey - DD is well again, nappy wise, but has started tantruming (crying w some screaming thrown in) during the day and also during the night. Think its teething (that old chestnut). Thank God the babysitter just came and took her out. I am NOT enjoying her company right now. Even DH isn't charmed by her at the mo'.

Grumpy - love how you have been "lurking" but actually bought the quintessential Wise & Avid wardrobe. I, on the other hand, come on and umm and ahh.

hellsbelles · 12/03/2010 13:33

afternoon lovely ladies. I'm manic at work so I can't click on any of the links (sorry was at the theatre yesterday evening so couldn't get my daily MN fix)!

NY - no problem with the questions. I'm a size 12, 5ft 8, with large norks (small back though), decent waist & legs, 'generous' tummy and hips (soon to change I hope).

Roman I agree the dress looked a decent length on the model but perhaps my curves shortened it a bit? I felt it was about the shortest I could wear without feeling a bit mutton (daytime - evening it would probably be fine) and I would only be comfortable wearing it when I have very tanned legs. But possibly I'm a bit of a prude and I am 38! The gathered bit at the side goes up a bit which makes it slightly shorter - and although you can adjust it I think it looks better if you don't! I found it flattering on the tummy as it sort of gathers.

RG - thanks so much - I have used Bravissimo a few times and they are great.

Right - I am really looking forward to catching up with everything this evening. See you all later.

traceybath · 12/03/2010 13:42

Hi Hells - hope you had a good time at the theatre!

What are you planning on wearing shoewise with the alice dress? I'm contemplating ordering it as did rather like it . . .

Barbabelle · 12/03/2010 14:22

Just catching up. Not had any time for reading or shopping the last couple of days Anyway, deadlines are met now so I'm going to order the Alexas - eshermummy I'll report back on the fit. I'm leaving the Otelos for now as realistically I don't get much opportunity to wear heels, and I don't want to look like traceybath's sister's mil.

Love the maxi-dress LTEC linked to but think I'd feel too self-conscious in it. Have had a bit of a confidence crisis since having ds2 (7 months and not sleeping much at all so I look haggard) and starting new job where I'm surrounded by beautiful 18 year olds. Guess I could wear a little denim jacket over it to preserve my modesty?

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 14:30

oh thanks for the maxi tracey - but I think I'm after a vibrant flowy pattern, more earth mother, less slinky. The 2 I have are more curve-skimming, one charcoal, one black. So I wan the opposite, iyswim

hells we miss you stop being so glamorous and get your so-called 'generous' butt back here!!

bunny LOL at quintessential W&A wardrobe, that's exactly it, isn't it!!??

do you have to be a cocosa member to view these links?? contemplating this top and either this or this - y or n?

am definitely becoming wiser ...all this Layla talk is like a waiting block of Green & Blacks to this dress addict. But have resisted, resisted ...

LetThemEatCake · 12/03/2010 14:45

scrap that .. already own similar items

MissWooWoo · 12/03/2010 16:12

I have been lurking here for ages but had nothing to share until now ... am getting this beautiful maxi for my hols ... hope the halter is sufficient to reign in my norkage!

MissWooWoo · 12/03/2010 16:24

forgot to say, if anyone else is interested in the maxi I linked to there is a £15 code off for first time buyers

ZZ425

bargain!

Fleecy · 12/03/2010 16:32

Nice - I love all these white maxis but can't wear 'em. The blue one, I could. Bargain indeed!

traceybath · 12/03/2010 16:56

MissWooWoo - lovely maxi - I wish I could wear them but alas too short.

Romanarama · 12/03/2010 17:26

Just joining in, but refraining from any more buying after nearly £1000 this morning

bunjies · 12/03/2010 17:45

Damn all those stores re-stocking 505. Will have to hang on to mine for a bit longer now

Cake - any good? ethnicy maxi

paisley maxi

stud detail maxi

monkeysmama · 12/03/2010 17:48

Hey girls

I'm not having a good day but wanted to pop in & wave. Still waiting for my deliveries .

Sacked the cleaner yesterday in a fit of anger so off to iron, clean and pack for weekend away while dp sits in Claridges getting drunk again.
