Ooh Fleecy - party hearty!! Getting home at 3am, much respect! Outfit was no doubt v cool.

Cakey - I am dying to go to Bicester, dying I tell you. Have a fab time!!

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 28/02/2010 11:56

Will catch up later, but right now I'm heading into the playroom with a black bin bag to chuck out as much tat as possible before DD gets back from swimming. See ya Littlest Pet Shop. Goodbye Polly Pocket. Playdoh, it was nice knowing you.

Anyone join me in a glass of bubbles to toast MonkeysMama's little angel? Big love MM, thinking of you x

hellsbelles · 28/02/2010 12:00

Thinking of you too MM.

Blossoming....sorry you have suffered too.

bunjies · 28/02/2010 12:02

I want to go to Bicester Village [stamps feet petulantly]. Next time I have an extended trip to the UK I am definitely going to go!

Undecided about the tulip/lantern skirt. I would really need to try it on first as I've got a horrible feeling that instead of disguising my bum/tum it would actually make it look worse. So, again, will have to wait til I'm over.

bunnymother · 28/02/2010 12:33

I raise my glass to both MM and Blossoming, only my glass has a lychee martini in it.

hellsbelles · 28/02/2010 12:33

bunjies - did you have a link to it? I agree with the general consensus that pencil skirts are wonderful...but I do have one tulipesque (!) type skirt that is amazing (it's charcoal, heavy jersey and quite short). So it's worth trying on just in case it's one of those rare gems.

GeorginaWorsley · 28/02/2010 12:48

LTEC I think I prefet the first ones as more summery.
Would wear first ones with dresses, second pair more with trousers.
But you have long legs so could get away with either!

bunjies · 28/02/2010 12:59

hells - this was the one most people preferred. Trouble is even though they do deliver to France it is très expensive (£12) and I wouldn't get the free returns either. So I will have to wait til I'm over.

Do you have a link to your skirt?

bunjies · 28/02/2010 13:00

oh dear the site didn't like the accented e. Obviously far too poncy!

hellsbelles · 28/02/2010 13:31

Bunjies at poncy!

I don't have a link to mine - I got it in a shop ages ago. What worries me about your one is that in the video she puts her hands in her pockets the whole time...which may be to disguise big hip styley . Agree it makes sense to wait till you are over.

carciofi · 28/02/2010 13:56

LTEC, I'd definitely read your blog. That's great you sold the cozy. My bag sales end this evening so fingers crossed.

Hope you have a good day at Bicester.

I have decided against the RL blazer but like this scarf. It is expensive though.

Mmmm, lychee martini sounds delish.

bunjies · 28/02/2010 16:14

That is a beautiful scarf Carciofi. I aspire to find myself in situations where I could justify wearing something like that.

Whilst I haven't got the resources to buy very much at the moment thanks to this thread I am really enjoying making more of an effort with the way I look. I know it sounds really shallow but by putting on some brighter colours and a fitted top has made me appreciate just how much my body has changed over the last year or so and goddamn it I feel good about it. I've realised that I am actually a size smaller than I thought I was so as a result clothes now fit and look better.

carciofi · 28/02/2010 16:44

Bunjies, it is not shallow at all. I always feel better if I am happy with the way I look.

Will I look like an old lady in my Barbour and scarf?! I wouldn't wear them together.

bunjies · 28/02/2010 16:48

Depends on whether you wear the scarf wrapped round your head and tied under the chin like the Queen and have a few hounds leaping up around you whilst feeding them your own fingers like on that sketch on French & Saunders.

carciofi · 28/02/2010 16:54

Hehe, am not a fan of corgis!

rufus101 · 28/02/2010 16:55

Are the wooden soles not really uncomfortable? With the hasbeens thatis!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 28/02/2010 18:08

Carciofi - that is indeed a lovely scarf.

Georgina - what type of dress do you like?

LTEC - what do you buy today?

My bl**Dy glasses broke today, they only had £160 lenses put in a month ago. FFFFFFFFFFF! Hate buying new glasses.

GeorginaWorsley · 28/02/2010 18:36

Libra

Well I am loving this but guessing might be a little out of range of what you want to spend!

This, I like in the lotus flower colour

Love this

Boring but functional, could dress up with nice jewellery

wrap dress&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=BlackAndWhite not sure but in sale!

ok off specification a bit

drapey and silk

(don't forget there is a 20% asos code floating about somewhere as well)

reallygrumpy · 28/02/2010 19:10

Well I ordered the first pair of Ash trainers cos they were so much cheaper and we're in the (very painful and expensive) process of buying a house so I feel a bit guilty about spending too much on new clothes for me.

MM - so sorry to hear today is such a sad anniversary, the sunflowers sound beautiful. I buy them to remind me of my grandmother.

I had CoH maternity jeans which were great till about 7 months then the bit where the elastic met the denim started to cut in. I got some great jeans from here but I can't remember what brand they were

And on a completely different topic, during all your browsing, has anyone spotted a frock that would be suitable for a wedding in Italy (Amalfi Coast) in May? It'll be quite a glamourous affair so while I've got a few dress I could wear, I'd like something with 'Wow'...

bunjies · 28/02/2010 19:11

Libra - what a pain about your glasses. Did they break by themselves or was it an accident? Can you claim it on household insurance? BTW was it you who was looking for something for your dh's birthday? There are some nice tees in the Jules B sale [[http://www.julesb.co.uk/menswear-1.html?all=all&sale=Y here] for around the £30 mark.

bunjies · 28/02/2010 19:12

Doh here

hellsbelles · 28/02/2010 19:17

evening everyone. Libra - what beautiful links. THe christopher kane is a thing of beauty (for those that don't need to wear a bra )

So sorry about your glasses. I've actually done the deed and had my eyes lasered (I was blind as a bat)...but prior to that I was travelling round India for 3 weeks with friends and on the 2nd day I smashed my glasses. I had to spend the whole three weeks with one good lens and one with a massive shatter. How very gorgeous I looked

Grumpy - that wedding sounds very glam! I'm sure we'll find something.
