They are horrible things, have just been in town and every other female under the age 25 seemed to wearing them, and they all looked awful.

You haven't seen me in my skinny jeans GreenMonkies!
I have seen many photos of myself in them and they look good, and dh can't keep his hands off me when I wear tight clothes!

www.joebrowns.co.uk/sp+Just-Jeggings+LB133 That link didn't work! Perhaps the Style Police censored it.....

GreenMonkies · 19/02/2010 10:49

dexter my DP can't keep his hands off me, even when I'm nekkid. He even found me attractive when I was 39+ weeks pregnant........ And I'm by no means slim, toned and athletic

There are some women who can carry off skinny jeans, but they are few and far between, they make most women look dreadful and huge thighed. The masses should not be made to suffer for the sake of the minority!!

Boot cut. Really, they are everyones friend!

MrsPixie · 19/02/2010 10:56

Yawn Boot cut is soooo 1999

I used to not like jeggings/leggings but I think I was only seeing them when they were being worn badly. I didn't notice the people who were wearing them well. This made me think that jeggings were not a good look.
Now I have seen lots of people wearing them well. I don't have any myself as I just wear my skinny jeans but I do have leggings now.
Maybe when new looks come in people are against them without trying them as they are comfortable with their old look.
I still wear bootcut jeans sometimes but it is also nice to wear different styles like skinny, straight or boyfriend.

I tried some on once and laughed so much I thought my head would pop right off. So a big NO for me but they look fine on everyone else.

oneintheoven87 · 19/02/2010 11:24

They used to look OK on me but now am 15 weeks I can't get away with them anymore! Can look good if your bum is covered by longer top - agree that no way should they (or any type of leggins) be treated like a pair of jeans where you wear a shorter top - tunics and short dresses only! My legs are the only skinny part of me so I like to show them off :D

oneintheoven87 · 19/02/2010 11:55

OMG I've just read back - you can get MATERNITY LEGGINGS? Point me to them! Also, ppl who are saying why not just wear tights - being very tall (over 6ft) tights are never long enough and also being thick of waist means they are always too tight with that awful telltale extra-spare-tyre look - eugh! At least with leggings they don't give you muffin top...

sungirltan · 19/02/2010 15:38

onintheoven87 - you can get maternity legging in H&M - they cost between 8n and 10 quid depending on length. i wore them all the way through my pregnancy - they were great! (at the time (last summer) they came in black, grey and brown and 2 different lengths)

Bigmouthstrikesagain · 19/02/2010 21:57

ohh I think we need a bit of booty lovin on this thread

nappyaddict · 23/02/2010 01:42

Do jeggings ever have real pockets or just pretend ones?

dexter73 · 23/02/2010 08:38

They can have real pockets. My dd has some from New Look that have them.

noddyholder · 23/02/2010 08:57

I am glad to see the back of them tbh kept a grey pair for DIY but back in my skinnies and feel slimmer and can wear so many different tops shirts shoes etc so much more flattering than the long droopy tunics I see everywhere.Bootcuts back with a vengeance on the catwalk though but my mum wears them so I am reluctant!

traceybath · 23/02/2010 09:15

Bootcuts do not suit you if you're short.

I'm 5ft and a size 6-8 and look much better in skinny/slim fitting jeans.

But I don't do tunics either.

nappyaddict · 23/02/2010 11:25

I prefer straight legged to full on skinny.

noddyholder · 23/02/2010 13:02

Straight are good esp as they still keep their shape if you turn them up

QueenofThebes · 23/02/2010 14:10

I like to think I look good in them and I'm nearly 34 . I have slim legs and can hide my post baby sagging under long jumpers/tops. And they are a lot more comfortable than wearing slim legged jeans with boots.

They should never, ever, ever been worn with short tops and I'd probably draw the line with any other form of shoe.

Oh and ShowOfHands best start packing for that island ... the future of shoes may well be here
