They are horrible things, have just been in town and every other female under the age 25 seemed to wearing them, and they all looked awful.

Super skinny denim jeans are great and flattering imo, because they cut out all the bulk of most denim styles and make you look really slim they do, honest!

Jeggings, made of legging material, are VILE! I saw some today in a shop and was so offended by the material and concept that I wanted to shred them

So I think it depends on the definition of a jegging, is it lycra-based fabric or is it a very skinny jean?

AnyFucker · 17/02/2010 17:47

very skinny jeans hurt and give you thrush

I am slim...and they crucify my fanjo

stretchy jeggings, if of good quality, are fab however

LastTrainToGeneva · 17/02/2010 17:55

I heart my jeggings

Not being sarcastic, I really do love them.

madhairday · 17/02/2010 17:57

Oh, they are so comfy.
I only wear them with tunics/jumper/wrap dresses and knee length boots though.
I am loving them - I have chunkier calves but can get away with it with the boots and I think they look nice.
I may be deluded though....

can't stand them without boots and with a short top tho. ugh

KentuckyFriedPenguin · 17/02/2010 17:57

depends on age, state of legs, size (sorry but it really does!) and what you are wearing with them

letsblowthistacostand · 17/02/2010 17:58

I LOVE jeggings. They are what I have been dreaming of for years: jeans with an elastic waist that actually make you look good.

Agree on the tunic top/boots combo--shows best part of your leg and hides mummy butt.

noddyholder · 17/02/2010 17:58

I am 44 but they look ok on me also have good legs although have gone back to jeans as they are more flattering and I think the skinny leg with tunic silhouette looks horribly dated now.For comfort though they are unbeatable!

jardy · 17/02/2010 18:04

KittySpencersEmerald · 17/02/2010 18:05

Oh yes mazzy she looks awful in them.

Seriously it does depend on your legs and size and the jeggings. Seem to recall everyone said the same about skinny jeans a few years back.

AnyFucker · 17/02/2010 18:17

erm, SE, I think you will find that jeggings predated Jedward

Yes, I think they do. I look OK in mine too. They're great if you have had a child and don't have a completely flat stomach but have good legs. I wear them with boots and dress/long jumper/tunic, whatever and they look just like skinny jeans but loads more comfortable!

AnyFucker · 17/02/2010 18:26

kerry, I swear I would turn you if you saw me in mine

cheesesarnie · 17/02/2010 18:26

skinny jeans are often too baggy on me so jeggings are a saviour!

i look fab!i dont care if im delusional.i feel good.

spongeitup · 17/02/2010 18:26

Another one for high boots & long tunic tops, I love them also with oversized chunky sweaters. (Am a size 00 right now - from illness not choice - and they keep me warm!) Think I'll still love them when I'm back to my normal size, but you really do only see them at the knee area.

onebadbaby · 17/02/2010 18:30

My 4 yr old DD looks cute in hers- I was dubious at first that she may look too teenagery but they are actually ok on her (she has very skinny legs). I am jealous as I would like to wear some- think am past it now though- maybe if I was 10 years younger and 1 stone lighter??

heQet · 17/02/2010 18:32

What the buggery bollocks are jeggings?

BooHooo · 17/02/2010 18:33

I look good in them, honest I do. But I am nearly 6ft and size 10 and still feel like I am too large for them other than with boots and big jumper, so v casual thing only.

mazzystartled · 17/02/2010 18:33

sorry even those net a porter ones are rank and whilst she clearly has an amazing body they look horrible

heQet · 17/02/2010 18:34

Oh. Never mind. Just saw the link.

My goodness. People will be able to see if you need a wee when you're wearing those!

They are certainly not for those of us with the generous proportions I would imagine that unless you are very slim they would not look good!
