They are horrible things, have just been in town and every other female under the age 25 seemed to wearing them, and they all looked awful.

Speak up, Jack, we can't hear you!

largeginandtonic · 18/02/2010 12:25

Rofl at SOH.

I look hideous in them, but i am a size 12-14. They are for the uber skinny and fantastic of leg.

JackSpratt · 18/02/2010 12:30

Ahhh marvelous.. first prize to Tethersend.

Apologies its half term and fearing I was invisible in my current namechange I launched a one woman text speak competition.

I look awful in jeggings.

As you were.

JackSpratt · 18/02/2010 12:31

(I did have to use a text speaker converter)

Crownjules1 · 18/02/2010 12:31

I wore leggings in my younger days, when I was stick thin and had a waist

It's all about body confidence, if you're worried about how you will look in them / how other people will percieve you if you wear them, then they are not for you.

star9 · 18/02/2010 12:32

Jeggings are chuffing awful, can't wait until this trend is over. They look terrible and cheap (really - make believe jeans?!?!?!). So so so wrong.

Same goes for jumpsuits...........

BoysAreLikeDogs · 18/02/2010 12:36

arf I want a txt speaker converter

janeite · 18/02/2010 13:23

Skirts. Dresses. Tights.

NicknameTaken · 18/02/2010 13:28

Boring black trousers. Which you will wrench from my cold, dead hands. Or off my cold, dead legs, to be strictly accurate.

madmissy · 18/02/2010 13:50

Love mine!

FeedTheBeast · 18/02/2010 14:26

Initially very sceptical of jeggins, they have been a life saver in the last trimester of my pregnancy, with tunic type dress over plus boots.

Saved my husband having to see me in my PJ's every night at dinner!

Lighteningbugs · 18/02/2010 14:54

I think they are hideous but better than the snake skin shiney leggings I saw a lady wearing today. They were so tight accross her arse they were completely see through.

Bumpless · 18/02/2010 15:19

So now I know a) what Jeggings are (never heard of them before!) and b) never to wear them without an outfit that only reveals 4 inces of mid-leg -

I thank you MNers for the education!

nappyaddict · 18/02/2010 15:27

I wear mine with a short top and heels if I am going out clubbing. They are well fitting and you can't see any camel toe. In the day time it's longer tops/long cardigans and ankle boots or pumps though.

ljhooray · 18/02/2010 16:01

I thought they were called treggings so I'm really getting out of the fashion loop!

mummy2002 · 18/02/2010 16:06

my 2yr and 7yr old look stunning in them

matildamum · 18/02/2010 16:31

I really like them...if worn in the right way. Have been lurking on this thread hoping that someone will tell us where to get the best jeggings in the mid-price bracket (i.e. around Gap price not Net a Porter!). I'm after a pair of tasteful (is that possible?!) ones, not printed on fake denim. Am 5'8" size 10 with good legs but the dreaded extra tummy/muffin top after 2 children. Any suggestions ladies?

girlsandboys · 18/02/2010 16:35

i like new look (£15 - dark, not TOO skin tight) and have heard good things about DP jeggings too, from the cool mums in the school yard

Plazaz · 18/02/2010 16:43

Treggings, or lousers

scanty · 18/02/2010 16:47

I love mine but they fall down a lot and it probably doesn't look too cool to be constantly hiking them up - is it just me that has this problem? I don't see the difference between jeggings and skinny jeans other than jeggings are more comfy and you dont have a huge muffin top. Has to be born with boots and long tops though. Now I'm worried everyone is laughing at the old dear of 41 in her jeggings!!

kitkatsforbreakfast · 18/02/2010 17:29

I think that while some people look ok in jeggings, they will always look better in something else.

Having said that, I do wear leggings from time to time with a tunic top, but am size 6 and in pretty good shape (if I do say so myself!) But they will never be the most flattering thing for any woman to wear. As someone pointed out, the £230 net a porter ones, on a model, looked fine. But she didn't look amazing, and I bet she does, often. Just not wearing jeggings.
