Ladies, welcome to Spring

OP posts:
Fleecy · 12/02/2010 14:37

Oooh, who bought the Winter Kate cardigan? It's in Grazia this week - very cute!

Fleecy · 12/02/2010 14:46

I'm always impatient - I'm longing to wear my new navy blazer with my new spring bag and my new navy and nude vests layered underneath.

Am wearing a new scarf today though - it's very pretty and summery

Got a gorgeous pair of jeans on eBay this week and a breton stripe jumper so no wonder I can no longer afford the shoes!

Still, as you say, there are bound to be loads of them out in a few weeks. I must be good!

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 15:00

Have any of you super stylish ladies got your mitts on the Chanel 505?

I too am impatient... Sooooo bored of all my AW clothes!!

White and navy tanks arrived today. Very good and bargainous

Hells did you make a mywardrobe purchase this week?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 15:02

Fleecy thanks for the maddens.. Am wary though as he tends to come up small.. Very gorgeous though !

OP posts:
Fleecy · 12/02/2010 15:05

Ah, glad you told me as I have my eye on some myself! Thanks for the tip!

I've entered the competition to win the Chanel polish. And the one for the bespoke cashmere. But not the Thailand one as wouldn't want to go without the kids

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 15:07

What competition?

OP posts:
DolceeBanana · 12/02/2010 15:33

Ooh...busy busy on here. Just a quick hi as been up to my eyes in it...after Toddler group!

DH not at all interested in clothes...has good physique, tall and lean and looks great when we go out, but mostly v v laid back!! Buys good clothes that last, and not adverse to wearing old holey cashmere jumpers...

House is rented too...we are looking for the ultimate long term house to gut and beautify which we've done many times.

LTEC thanks for suggestion of your lovely dress, but not keen on black/white combo on me...also want to spend some serious dosh on t'wedding!!!! Hope you are better...yes, am 4 months post birth too...and have days where I feel fab and thin (am 8.5 stone now !- my pre pg weight) and others where I am feeling fat and slothful - not that I ever am slothful - oh, the chance to be !!!!Boo hoo.....p.s. do you find your ab muscles need more work this time around...you've had yours close like me, although with me 1 and 2 are just under 13 months apart !

Choo - glad you got the Glads - Its been frigging snowing here so feel like ordering bloody snowboots....!

Fleecy · 12/02/2010 15:40

Snow here too dolcee and I want it to be spring. Grr!

ltec it was on Sheer Luxe so not sure if you're eligible - sorry! I suppose I just thought you would know absolutely everything on the site

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 16:03

oh no worries DB - it's brown and cream actually, so I just thought it might suit your colouring. Can't believe you are back to pre-preg weight - I still have half a stone to go!!! Am blaming it on the breastfeeding ... roll on weaning

Fleecy I didn't know about it!! Don't know if I would be eligible. Didn't know you subscribed either. What do you think of it? You can be honest - my involvement is limited. Do you read High Maintenance Mummy?

OP posts:
DolceeBanana · 12/02/2010 16:05

And - LTEC you sound like you know what you are doing - are you doing masses of sit ups to try to reduce post birth tum- as you can see I'm slightly obsessed!!!!! Any advice really appreciated! I reckon if I lost the tum, I'd be about 8 stone - no kidding!!!!

DolceeBanana · 12/02/2010 16:11

As you can see, I'm colour blind!!! Brown and cream would suit...is it long though...remember 5' 4....nice for a summer drinks dress i feel....

And yes back to pre pg weight...but feel like could /need to go further as shapes changed....if i could lose tum, fab!!! you've only got 1/2 stone to go, that's fantastic!!!!

And on subject of weaning, our two Dcs bein g born close - mine 2 oct - when are you starting.....

DolceeBanana · 12/02/2010 16:13

fleecy - i soooo want it to be spring!!!

Fleecy · 12/02/2010 16:16

TBH I only recently subscribed and haven't really had a chance to look around. Interested in getting tips, competitions and the credit/debit feature!

I haven't read HMM yet - are you the lady herself?

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 16:17

DB am with you on the obsession front .. my weight and shape occupy a small part of my brain at every moment of the day!!

I do the ab section in the Davina workout as well as using this but tbh, I find that my tummy responds best to fat burning, hence the running and skipping.

My arse on the other hand ... hopeless case.

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 16:20

yes fleecy, 'tis moi!!!

a richer version to be sure ... and her mothering style is nowhere near mine .. but our taste for the fabulous is certainly similar.. just not the means of acquisition!!!

lots of discounts on that site. very worthwhile

OP posts:
DolceeBanana · 12/02/2010 16:22

LTEC thanks....you are too unjustifiably critical of yourself!!!

And when are you going to wean dc3....(nosey!

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 16:29

well... the other 2 started on solids at 4m or thereabouts.

so having been trying L with the odd bit of carrot/ potato for the last week or so. He doesn't seem too keen so might try again early march... he's dribbling loads, looking intently and getting grumpy when we eat, mouthing everything .. so i think he's more or less ready. They were the signs that P&C gave me and they took to it imediately

will keep bfing until 10-12mths. Did you say you were still bf or not?

OP posts:
DolceeBanana · 12/02/2010 16:35

thanks - it's great to compare notes on this with you having similar sit...yes thinking of starting to wean DC3 as DC1 and2 both 4 mths....!

You are greater than me ref bfeeding....stopped at 14 weeks...just found it v difficult this time around....very impressed with you! DC 3 seemed to prefer bottle and wolfed it down, and v snacky on breast!!

Fleecy · 12/02/2010 16:36

I shall have to have a nose then! What fun!

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 17:27

bloody Outnet

free shipping does not a weekend shop-in make.

MM hope today went well. You were asking about Valentine's Day? for us. it's pretty low-key as closely followed by anniversary of when we met (10 years this month) and then by our wedding anniversary (5 years in March)

But, have bought dh (and me!) a present in the Hush sale - the star-print pj bottoms. Very his'n'hers chic!! . I am thinking - Sunday night, PJs on the sofa, sushi from Fujiyama, bottle of bubbly, 24 Day 8 downloaded from i-Tunes

He'd probably be happy with a snog

PCPlumIsMyHomeboy · 12/02/2010 17:34

Hola from sunny Lanzarote!

Am wearing a cornflower blue Ghost maxi dress and Pierre Hardy for GAP glads, trying not to think about coming home on Sunday.

Think would like to get some more Ghost frocks. This one is, I think, meant to be for evening, but I'm a sucker for a swooshing hemline, and will be wearing this on the school run next term.

MM, we are here , with 3 yr old and 8 mth old baby, it is divine.

When I get home, I'll be ordering these clogs:

www.thenaturalshoestore.com/index.php?m=catalogue&a=vw_prod&cat=2&sec=-1&opr_oprid=797

hellsbelles · 12/02/2010 17:37

LTEC - I may have made a small purchase ..I felt it would be rude to pass up such a discount! I ended up getting the uggs clogs (ugly but very comfy) and a couple of splendid (sp?) long sleeved tees. Ordered yesterday and they were here today. Though DH wasn't impressed by even more deliveries. I really really need to be good next week.

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 17:55

hells talk to me about Splendid tees - how do they come up compared to AV?

PC - don't think about Sunday!! think about Monday, when you will be the envy of all pasty Brits with your glowing summer skin

OP posts:
bunnymother · 12/02/2010 18:13

WOW - jet speed moving thread!! Cannot remember or keep up except:

beautiful ladies - goodness, what a stunning bunch of ladies on this thread! I have been told that I look like Kylie Minogue (I don't, but I do have big teeth, which she does, too) and that I look like Nicole Kidman (I don't, but I am fair skinned and Australian which is enough for some people!!). Cakey - ignore that v unpleasant comment from MIL - speaks volumes about them, and nought about you (you are gorgeous).

Beauty - hate to say it, but am increasingly reminded of Winston Churchill's mother who said, as she got older "I will never get over not being the most beautiful woman in the room". I was never that, but took youth and fresh facedness for granted and hate to admit that I am mourning its passing. Need to make sure I delight in DD's apparent beauty and never EVER feel jealous of/competitive about it.

Meet up - I would def be up for a London meet up, but would beg for mercy re judgement of my outfits - they do not compare to some on this thread!!

Navy Malene Birger cardigan - its gorgeous, go for it!

Clogs - not for me.

Metallic gladiators - yes, please! Will be looking for some pewter leather glads or flip flops for this summer as last pair are dying a sad death...

White Baxters - I think I will be doing that, too.

Mummy tummies - I cannot BEAR mine, but think I will try Cakey's wheel thing, too. Need an arsenal of weapons in the fight. Frankly, am shocked at how hard it is to shift baby weight.

ASOS top hasn't arrived yet, but when it does will post. Have to run, need to prepare 27 ingredients for DD's dinner approval. No doubt most will be soundly rejected.

bunnymother · 12/02/2010 18:20

Oh, and one more thing... did I mention that I saw Alexander McQueen in Soho a month ago? Then the next day saw a few of his things in a 2nd hand designer shop near home. [swoon]. He was an artist.
