OP posts:

I have no piercings either hannaflower - am a big woss re pain and its just one of those things that I never got around to doing! Its funny the amount of friends who give me earings for pressies tho - thinking my ears are pierced! (Did go thro a phase in the late 90's tho of wearing a magnetic stud in the top of my ear as I thought it looked cool - had to buy loads as kept loosing them!)

Redliquorice · 11/02/2010 16:09

LTEC - Sorry I didn't manage to get online yesterday so tell you that the dress arrived. It is gorgeous and it stays up!!! Now that is amazing given the size of my boobs! Thanks so much...are you thinking of selling anything else?

I don't think I've ever been told that I look like anyone! I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad one!??!

traceybath · 11/02/2010 16:11

Very sad news about AMQ.

Burning - hope you mum is out of hospital soon. Very much like that cardi - I tend to like pretty much everything Nicole Richie wears.

Esher - hope you're feeling better soon and get to go out on saturday night.

Fleecy · 11/02/2010 17:01

Burning - glad to hear you're mum's doing better.

Hana for you and hope it works out for you one way or another

Tragic news about AMQ - I had no idea.

red - I think it's nice. You look like you!

Fleecy · 11/02/2010 17:18

Just realised ltec hasn't been around today. Hope she's okay!

monkeysmama · 11/02/2010 18:10

I'm stunned by the AMQ news. How incredibly sad.

You ok Cakey?

traceybath · 11/02/2010 18:33

Thanks for men's jeans recommendations - just ordered some nudie ones from matches sale for £38!

monkeysmama · 11/02/2010 18:47

Brilliant Tracey. I really like them and getting a bargain always feels good.

carciofi · 11/02/2010 19:53

Bunting, that sounds awful. I hope she can come home soon. I like the cardigan.

Hana, hope you are ok.

How awful about Alexander McQueen.

We are going out on Valentine's day but because it is my birthday.

I plundered my bag fund and bought a Malene Birger top and cardigan on My-Wardrobe. No more now!

hellsbelles · 11/02/2010 20:11

DH actually rung me specially to tell me about AMQ. Such sad news.

MM - I think it's an excuse to get fairly dressy. I would wear a relatively glam dress and heels (it's an evening thing isn't it?)...who else is on the table with you? Are they the type to get dressed up?

Tracey - £38??! that's fab.

Fleecy - love the breakfast bar wallpaper. Not 100% on the frames one. but to be honest I'm clueless about interior design so no point listening to me

Has our dear leader already had the vomitting thing? I hope she hasn't caught it off her DC's

eshermummy · 11/02/2010 20:39

MM - ever since I heard about your leather leggings purchase in Paris I have been
Today I have been wearing my cheapo Oasis wet look leggings which I love (have a couple of other pairs too ) and I totally realised that I would get lots of wear out of real ones.
Am thus considering these - given that there is a 25% discount on MW (unless someone tells me it doesn't apply to these?) today would be the day to buy no?

But, DH has put a spanner in the works by saying he thinks leather leggings would go all baggy at the knees in no time . It does say as much here. He has also rightly pointed out that I am forever moaning about how all my wetlook leggings have gone baggy and lost their shine but at least they only cost £10/20!

So what do you think?
Has anyone seen any leather leggings that are not quite so £££££? Maybe I have missed the boat on this and need to wait till next winter.

On a slightly separate note I do need some new wetlook leggings anyway - has anyone seen any about?

traceybath · 11/02/2010 20:52

Oooh Esher those leather leggings are gorgeous. Could you buy them and wear them and then if they do bag just return them?

Are you feeling any better?

I'm hovering over the purchase button on the swedish clogs - they'll work very well with my white baxters and new j brands i think . . .

hellsbelles · 11/02/2010 20:56

Esher - would PVC rats do the trick here

Tracey - what are baxters? I know I should know!

traceybath · 11/02/2010 21:07

white baxters

eshermummy · 11/02/2010 21:15

hells - PVC black rats = too shiny and a bit too fussy - have seen irl and you can really see the stitching (white) in a way that you can't on the plain black ones.

Tracey - do you really think they'd take them back if they bagged? Am not sure myself....

Sorry, am watching the thing on C4 about boarding schools (not from any personal interest in sending mine I hasten to add) so am replying in ad breaks. Will be back with full & undivided attention at 10pm

traceybath · 11/02/2010 21:21

I'm going to watch the boarding school thing tomorrow but am getting my katie price fix

hellsbelles · 11/02/2010 21:24

oh they sound horrid in RL Esher! Sorry.

Thanks Tracey! Now I can refer to baxters with authority!

LetThemEatCake · 11/02/2010 21:27

hi everyone - blimey you can't take your eyes off this thread for a minute, can you! Very fast-moving.

Will be brief as am on deadline and feeling suspiciously achey and shivery but hopefully that is just bc I've been running every day this week and not bc of some latent bug. Thanks for your concern, chicks

Firstly, am so sorry to hear about all the illnesses - BBFF what a nightmare, hope she is much better very soon. Also MrsJ and esher - hope you get your night out and do tell us what you wear!

MM you are such a love to look for boots for me, thank you. Hope you have a fabulous time tomorrow night and wear something hot in the good sense

re house and dh, both messy. But I don't fancy groomed men. All of my significant others have been surfers/ snowboarders. Have never fancied a man in a suit. And tbh, as much as a sucker for a pretty frock as I am, I would always say that my 'style" was less than polished. My friends have described my look as "upmarket scruff"

hana so sorry to hear that. Hope all resolves itself for the best, one wa or the other. Will def initely report back on zebra scarf.

red - that's fabulous, I'm so pleased it works.

Zembo sorry the Castaners no good

roary definitely sending the Pure dress back, it's a blackcurrant 12, but I have to return within 7 days as sale item.

better run, will check back in later depending on how this story goes

Quick one, my-wardrobe free delivery has ended?? Gah just had to do stuff and it's gone.

Anyone know if there was a time limit?

hellsbelles · 11/02/2010 21:40

marsha - did you see the brill code that carciofi did? that was 25% discount - code is amex25. It was working earlier today.

MarshaBrady · 11/02/2010 21:47

yes that is a fantastic code! thank you both. Brilliant, will come back later and add more.

CHOOGIRL · 11/02/2010 22:42

shall I? Or am I just desperate to use the 25% discount code? I was sent a £20 gift certificate today so these could be quite bargainous.

I know Choo -I feel compelled to buy something with 25% off.
I don't do wedges or slingback so I'm really not the persn to ask about those wedges.
Have decided against the leather leggings - am going to see if I can track down something cheaper.
Am now considering these - I liked the other metallic glads that have already been linked to but I prefer ones with something round the back of your heel as opposed to open at back and only fastened by ankle straps.

CHOOGIRL · 11/02/2010 23:06

Esher I ordered the Metallics yesterday (without 25% off grrr)
I like the Steve Madden ones.

Anyone else desperate for the sun to come out?
