Ladies, welcome to Spring

Choo - re-order today then and then send back yesterday's ones with the free DHL collection?

Have ordered the multi-coloured ones. Might be going on hols end of March so should get some wear

Zembo · 12/02/2010 06:55

CHOO - I also considered those wedges but decided against them as not keen on black in summer. I don't do tan, more of a chocolate brown girl.

Also felt compelled to buy something so did buy the diamond studs

LTEC - hope you got your work done!

monkeysmama · 12/02/2010 08:52

Ciao belle

I am feeling a bit glum. This Chef's Table meal is at lunchtime and I have nothing to wear. I tried on 4 outfits last night and dp was falling asleep unimpressed. I don't usually stress out so much over what I wear to go out but dp's colleagues that we're going with have very glam wives and I don't like them. I am going to one of my old teams leaving dos afterwards and am making a speech (be interesting after a few wines ). We have only been out 4-5 times since dd was born 20mo ago and I want to look nice. I think I may have a tantrum.

Esher I really like those glads, and Choo I can't wait for nicer weather either. I love waking up in the morning with the sun streaming through the blinds, picnics in the park, maxi dresses, sunglasses everyday. Can't wait .

Does anyone have any good holiday with toddler destination advice? We went to the Almyra in Cyprus for 10 days last spring and it was lovely. Very child orientated but with an Ibiza styled sushi resturant over looking the sea. My kind of place. We go to Italy for a lot of the summer and are going to Spain for a week with the inlaws and dp's sis, her husband and LOs but we want to go somewhere hot and relaxing in March....

Right, off to find something to wear. Excuse my tantrum and ramblings.

traceybath · 12/02/2010 09:29

MM - what about your new comptoir dress? Would that work? You will look fab - don't worry and after one glass of champagne you won't care .

[[http://www.scottdunn.com/holiday-finder.asp Scott Dunn] are good for luxury/family holidays.

Am on my iPhone in bed - am poorly! Dh has stayed home to look after the children. Just wanted to send hug to mm. I know the feeling of pressure when company is both glam and unlikable. Don't worry. You will sparkle irrespective of outfit.

Oh thanks katy. That's good to know. I think I'm just generally run down. No pun intended! A long winter, 3 young'uns, trying to keep going with at least the occasional but of work, plus trying to be thin and well dressed! Oh the pressure!!
On a positive note, I have zero appetite and the dcs are downstairs rehearsing a 'show' for me to watch.

LTEC - hope you feel better soon - enjoy the peace at least.

I'm off to my sisters later and bil is going to do my hair - yeay - choppy blonde bob here I come.

Oh I ordered the swedish hasbeens (love that name) last night - I blame the glass of wine and watching katie price - I felt the need for something subdued and tasteful.

Good call Tracey. I'm going to wear one of my new dresses no matter what dp thinks.

Thank you LTEC. I have an irrational fear of being out of place that surfaces when I have to go to these things. I hope you feel much better soon & have a well deserved relaxing day in bed & watching your show .

I watched Katie Price too . She's very odd.

Glad you ordered the hasbeens. I love the name too. Let us know what they're like.

Leather leggings I love them though am worried about baggy knees. I have only worn them for 2 hrs but after their next outing I'll let you know how I get on. They feel lovely. I'd wear them today were I not going to sit in the kitchen .

MarshaBrady · 12/02/2010 10:10

MM you'll look stunning I know it. Ltec enjoy day of rest, hopefully you don't get too bad. TB love the name swedish hasbeens too, let us know what they are like.

I have the boots. Very happy, I called just as they were to be shipped back to MJ land apparently.

But also in bad mood as finally had time to get on mw last night at 11ish and had missed the free delivery. Order before 4.00 apparently. That 25% off is excellent so not sure whether to go for it. I only want a couple of AV tshirts.

Does anyone else find AV big? I need a S yes? (am 10/12, hopefully soon a proper 10).

Fleecy · 12/02/2010 10:40

ltec sorry you're unwell. Here's something to cheer you up - no idea if they're for real but they're cheap and cute and your size I think?

here

traceybath · 12/02/2010 10:42

Marsha - I too find AV big and they seem to stretch as the day progresses. Have actually just tumbled my white one to try and shrink it a bit.

MM - have a lovely time today!

Carciofi - current elliotts arrived today and I love them. So thank you for recommending revolve and also to size down as they are indeed generously cut.

Right - off to do chores. DS2 had a nappy explosion so have just stripped sofa - thank god for washable covers.

Redliquorice · 12/02/2010 10:55

Morning all!

LTEC - Hope you are feeling better now.

MM- Have a lovely day.

I'm feeling a bit down. I had ordered a lovely Pacha dress from LK Bennett via BrandAlley for my 40th. It arrived today and is too big and they don't have any left!! So now I'm on the hunt for a fab dress...again! Myself, and 3 of my friends all turn 40 within weeks of each other in March/April. We are having a big, glam overnighter in Edinburgh booked and I want to look fab! All suggestions welcome! I'm size 10 and usually go for shift type dresses or mini wafty ones (iykwim!!). Think Audrey Hepburn channelling Julie Christie if they were French

GeorginaWorsley · 12/02/2010 12:20

Good afternoon ladies.
LTEC hope you get better soon.
Am off to Lanzarote on sunday but feeling cross and fed up as the weather forecast for next few days is rain!
can you believe it??Temperatures good,24 degrees, but chance of rain!
Never mind, dcs will be wet anyway in the pool!
Have longed for a bit of sun to relieve this dreary winter, and now will need umbrellas.

hellsbelles · 12/02/2010 13:05

MM - you are so lovely - you'll look wonderful whatever you wear. Just forget about them and enjoy it.

Holidaywise - I agree with Tracey - scott dunn is total relaxation. Have just booked a holiday with them for the second time (but it's very very expensive and I'm finding it quite hard to justify - attempting to work much harder to ease the guilt).

I can't recall how old your little one is but if you can manage a long haul The Residence in Mauritius is wonderful. The kids club is beautiful and the beaches amazing. We used to go every year until DD was born. And we recommended it to friends who are now going back for a second time (and I'm very as not quite ready to do the 11 hour flight with DD!)

LTEC - hope you are curled up with lots of mags books and the TV remote and actually getting a chance slightly enjoy a bit of peace.

Tracey - can't wait to hear what the hasbeens are like. I keep seeing them in all the magazines. I just got the uggs clogs. So so comfortable and DD loves to hear my clattering about in them. As I'm so rubbish in heels normally I feel rather glam in them (is that a contradiction in terms?

Marsha - I think that code gives free delivery too as well as the 25%!!! so bargain for sure.

bodsmum · 12/02/2010 13:22

I'm still here..just such a slow typist but enjoying the stream of fashion consciousness.

really excited to hear that the travelwrap premiering in dark red in autumn so will hold off anymore a/w purchases and focus on spring.

sorry that so many have been in 'bug hell'..thank goodness for fashion!to lift us..

ROARY..we are practically at the same week in our pregnancy i think..not long now!purchaswise,i have been loving a grey mohair waterfall cardigan i found in tkmaxx and should be handy for bfing.

LTEC..did you ever decide on a new season nail polish..i am loving opi's grey 'you don't know jaques!'..the orange halston by the way is beyond perfect.

TRACEY..have you ever tried halston before..were you on the waiting list for the white one..i think you mentioned you were v petite..i imagine from dresses i've worn(seem cut for taller women) that SJP has had her's made to measure..but i hope i'm wrong.

re-famous look-a-likeys..i was described as the girl from the bounty ad(if any of you can actually remember her!..shows how long ago that was)

MM..i think you'll look amazing-re-glam wives..i actually hate it when people use the word glam as a compliment..i'd rather have 'divine' or 'stunning'..glam suggests nancy d' lollio..too much slap and heaven knows what's going on underneath so i don't think they will be any competition for your natural good looks.it sounds superexciting!have a ball.

here's to a great weekend folks.

hellsbelles · 12/02/2010 13:28

bod - oh goodness. I say glam a lot. And I don't mean it in the footballers wife way (which is my asthetic nightmare). I just mean gorgeous. Slap me on the wrists if I say it again.

bodsmum · 12/02/2010 13:55

oh HELLS..just ignore me..obviously some weird childhood trauma..or sensitivity that it might mean something quite depressing over 40..i.e days of being pretty have long gone..

LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 14:09

LOL Footballers Wives . Tanya Turner is my total hero. Most exciting day of my life was when my dh interviewed her.

I don't mind channelling the odd bit of Amber Gates, too. Being dark and all.

Nightmare day here. Have just gone to send off my work and realised that I have deleted a whole chunk of it and can't retrieve. And dh looking after the dcs means that i am getting a constant stream of shrieking tantrums noise from downstairs.

Argh! seeking solace in this thread .. and may have to supplement with a purchase or too.

Tracey VERY excited about your shoes and hair!! woo hoo! what colour did you get, silver?

OP posts:
LetThemEatCake · 12/02/2010 14:10

a purchase TOO

or a purchase or TWO

geeez.

OP posts:
hellsbelles · 12/02/2010 14:18

Bods - perhaps you had some Blousey (sp?) aunt that was described as glam and that forever scarred you!

LTEC - that is utter crap. Poor you.

Yes - I think you do need to make a purchase to help speed up your recovery. Is the 25%/free postage code still working on my-wardrobe....it would be wrong for you not to get a chance to use that.

Fleecy · 12/02/2010 14:31

It is working because I got as far as putting the Ugg clogs in my basket and starting to check out before realising I really couldn't afford them

This from the girl who only yesterday said she couldn't do clogs or clumpy shoes...

I have fallen hard and desparately want some - if anyone comes across any similar clogs at £50 or less, please let me know!

hellsbelles · 12/02/2010 14:35

Fleecy you have fallen indeed! I'm sure there will be tons of decently priced clogs soon enough. I am sure I won't be able to wear mine for a few months yet so I'm just being impatient.
