fishie · 16/06/2009 20:47

it is difficult to underestimate the shortitude and solidness of my torso. would indeed be a dress.

specialmagiclady · 16/06/2009 21:30

Sorry to bring topic back to OP, BUT...

I had 2 hours to buy outfit for wedding thingy on Saturday, walked into Wallis, walked out with green dress/tunic thingy. 5 minutes total. Leaving me with 1'55" to buy white linen trousers and large white bag.

Ta-daaa!

Love the lovely mumsnet!

Although on a different note, I nearly lamped the middle-aged sales assistant. They didn't have the perfect linen trousers in my size. But she nipped into the changing room and emerged wearing "my" outfit with, of course, the linen trousers in her size. Like, ta-daaaa, look at what you could have won! But of course I couldn't have won it because YOU, dear, have bought all the stock. And now you've rubbed my nose in it.

I looked better in it, mind.

fishie · 16/06/2009 21:37

hooray for you sml. ooh have just had a thought - does The Dress wash well? if they shrink or grow i could be back on it...

FrontRowFig · 18/06/2009 15:34

Do oyu LOVE the dress special?
I never thought of wearign it OVER THINGs

the assistant changed to wear your outfit?
i dont get it

NorkyButNice · 18/06/2009 15:49

I took the navy back and swapped it for the purple which I have worn today with black opaque (with diagonal check pattern) tights, and a small black cardigan.

Was asked by 2 complete strangers where the dress was from, and the friend I met for lunch said she's going to buy it too (as long as I didn't mind her copying).

Who'd have thought Wallis would be a winner in the style stakes!

FrontRowFig · 18/06/2009 16:07

hahah! so that is 2 all on the compliments stake

Oh poo. I should have bought two... purple or black...

FrontRowFig · 18/06/2009 16:08

WAA2 gets you 10% off

FrontRowFig · 18/06/2009 16:09
