Last night DH & I enjoyed a rare night out. As we were waiting in the queue for our taxi home two attractive girls who couldn't have been more than 18 got out of the taxi & headed across the road to a local nightclub. As they emerged from the taxi I couldnt believe it.I am not exagerating when I say one of the girls was wearing a skirt that was so tight & short her bum cleavage was totally visible. I find this offensive & can't believe a girl would leave the house dressed like this. I believe its nobody else's business how a girl wishes to present herself but I can't understand why anyone would agree with this particular look.

A bit of cleavage,so what. Young girls going out with boobs on show along with a skirt showing off her bum is not in any way acceptable

To you, but again, it’s not about you.

Although we are still fighting, we have definitely won some battles.

Women have way more rights than 30 years ago.

30 years ago women would be shunned by their own families for getting a divorce, having sex outside of the marriage, choosing to be single etc.

30 years ago was 1996.

None of that is true.

skid marked???

Yeah shit stained. You have young men who don’t wipe their arse properly and then show the amount of underwear so complete strangers can see the evidence of that. Absolutely grim. Keep your underwear in your clothes. That’s where the prefix ‘under,’ comes from.

Well I’ve never seen that, and I’m not sure I will take your word for it either.

What a shockingly misogynistic thing to write, you should be ashamed od yourself,

Eh? Women have been displaying their cleavage for hundreds of years. If you have particularly large breasts it’s hard not to sometimes.

Some women did, the very very rich and the very very poor who had to turn to prostitution

There are beautiful paintings of the 16th, 17th, 18th century beauties of the day with their dresses half falling off and some of them would have been dressed like that as they were the mistresses of powerful and rich men of the day, it was still considered shocking but only in the way that rich posh people do things today which are both shocking but accepted within their world

However, it was exclusively for men, it was to show off what the man 'had', show what you as their competitor (or the actual husband of the woman) didnt have, it was to show that they have so much wealth to live this gauche life and support this woman. It was porn of the day for the polite society (better porn was in pamphlets)

So you think girls who are under the age of consent having cleavage and buttocks on show, walking down their local high street is a sign of a progressive society? I think it’s very very weird.

I was at a train station coming home from work a while back and there were a group of girls around that age heading, I assumed, on a night out. One of them was wearing a denim skirt so short you could see most of her bare arse.

I know I'm old but I don't understand how it's not embarassing. I could barely look away myself so there would be no hope of expecting men not to look.

You can certainly take my word for it. Off-white, stained underwear that hasn’t seen a washing machine in days. Vile.

Are you drunk? You and another poster keep making stuff up no one said and then posting it like they did, it’s incredibly odd.

PeasOff · Yesterday 17:59

And there it is again, equating how a young woman dresses with whether she's decent.

You really need to stop confusing your personal preferences with someone else's morals or worth. Misogyny doesn't become acceptable just because it's dressed up as concern for young women!

Puppylucky · Yesterday 17:59

TheLastSilverSaint · Yesterday 16:05

If she was old enough to be out clubbing, it wouldn’t be any of your business what she wore. You don’t get to impose your clothing preferences on other adults just because you popped them out of your vag a couple of decades ago.

What a crass comment.

Idayatatime · Yesterday 18:00

The answer to both is no but I do feel strongly about exhibitionism

Actually I don’t care if women want to display their cleavage or legs on a night out. My point was about kids doing it and it being normalised. I think it’s a very peculiar phenomenon to be normalised and celebrated.

It wasn’t porn it was the fashion,

The paintings were porn, please try to follow what is being said here.

And as I said it was the fashion for certain types of women, your bog standard merchants wife or financier's wife didnt dress with everything falling out and even the aristocratic mistresses who did, didnt do that all the time. The pictures dont represent every day, on the street fashion of the day.

Lol, thats what I thought - 30 years ago being portrayed like its another time!!

Its yesterday for gods sake!

The words 'modesty' and 'self-respect' have long gone, unfortunately. OP, these sort of people just don't care how awful they look.
