Last night DH & I enjoyed a rare night out. As we were waiting in the queue for our taxi home two attractive girls who couldn't have been more than 18 got out of the taxi & headed across the road to a local nightclub. As they emerged from the taxi I couldnt believe it.I am not exagerating when I say one of the girls was wearing a skirt that was so tight & short her bum cleavage was totally visible. I find this offensive & can't believe a girl would leave the house dressed like this. I believe its nobody else's business how a girl wishes to present herself but I can't understand why anyone would agree with this particular look.

People have to go through their own phases/journey …. I wore worse than that similar age 😂

I'm sure it was just a wardrobe malfunction, much like a man with a builders bum. But nicer.

"I believe it's nobody else's business how a girl wishes to present herself..."

...as long as it fits within your parameters.

Gingerbreadseasoniscoming · Yesterday 14:43

You know it's noone else's business, but have made it yours, and are now trying to make it everyone else's. Have a day off.

OriginalSkang · Yesterday 14:43

I don't understand what you mean about finding it offensive? Or maybe that means something different to you

3luckystars · Yesterday 14:44

Do you have any teenage children? Lots of them wear this type of thing and a lot less.

They are allowed.

I remember when my son first started going to discos years ago, I had not been out myself in years and I was shocked at how little the girls were wearing and then I realised they were my friends daughters and I just needed to cop myself on.

Ok,I was shocked and I'm perfectly enitled to feel like this. Posters share far worse Absolutely nothing wrong with a short skirt but surely there has to be a limit to what girls show on a night out or is nothing off limits nowadays.

She’s probably on Teensnet with a post about a women in her middle age uniform of wide leg trousers who thought she looked so good.

Genuine question: what on earth constitutes worse?

PeasOff · Yesterday 14:53

What about it did you find offensive?

AlonsoMosley · Yesterday 14:53

I believe its nobody else's business how a girl wishes to present herself

We would like this to be true but it is clearly not true - for you or anybody else.
We all present ourselves to the outside world. In that presentation we make many statements - about creativity, experimentation, identity, class, how we view ourselves, how we want others to see us and so on. Our clothing choice is event dependent - wedding, club, sport, professional. But - everybody who sees us will have deduced things about us from the decisions we made on how to present.

It is foolish to think otherwise and very foolish to persuade young girls/women that it is otherwise.

Clearly, their choice should be accepted, but like most choices in life, it is not consequence free.

What’s offensive about arse crack, it likely slipped down, but still “offensive “ is a bit odd,

When a guy walks along with his trousers & pants pulled down to mid bum I find it offensive so thats your answer.

But I'll still start a MN thread on it so that posters can help me pick a complete stranger apart.

Was your husband having a look is that it?

im not sure offensive means what you think it means,

wheredidtheteago · Yesterday 14:58

I think it’s a rite of passage! I’m shocked at what younger girls wear now in a protective sense and I’m sure our mothers thought the same and so on and so on. There will come a time where the girl with her bum out will also be shocked at the younger generation! I’m sorry your eyes were offended though I hope they’ve recovered x

How very odd, I find it quite revolting, amusing, daft, but certainly not offensive.

Lomonald · Yesterday 14:59

Young women buy bits of string off Shien and call it an outfit ! .she wasn't naked and she was on a night out it doesn't make any difference to you what she chose to wear.

I can’t believe grown women go on a night out with their husband and then post about what other women are wearing in a negative way on the internet. offensive? Get a life.

Theraffarian · Yesterday 15:01

Posters are all very accepting of this , but I do think they would do a double take in real life . We went to a couple of low key music festivals over the summer and I was a bit surprised by some of the girls wearing flared skirts so short they were constantly showing their bum cheeks, not just if they moved , but literally all the time . I assume it was a deliberate look .

OriginalSkang · Yesterday 15:03

I would do a double take probably and wouldn't wear it myself. I wouldn't be disgusted or personally offended to the point of posting about it on here!

I mean ... "offensive" might be a bit tot but so too is "get a life."

OP has throw out an interesting discussion.

Those irritated by her "policing" the girls are in turn policing the OP. 😂

As we should, judging other women for their clothes, is never ok, we have moved past that, and if someone needs reminding we should do so.
