Where to get good black leggings

Starting off by saying no, I don’t care if you don’t like leggings. Just move along…. 😂

Anyway, looking for some good black leggings to wear with a baggy t-shirt etc. have been researching and reading articles, however all Vogue etc seems to review are leggings around the £100 mark 🙄. Looking for some good ones that are more “normal” high street. Style

I wear leggings everyday from September to May, I buy the Matalan 95% Viscose 5% Elastane ones, I think they are 2 pairs for £10.
Two pairs worn on rotation last a season and I've actually started to wear last year's again as they are fine.
They are soft, stretchy and don't sag at the knees or ankles.

Soft and high wasted.
Not see through or baggy knee’ed.

Same here. So soft, love the waistline. Never sag. Wash well. I walked hundreds of miles in them and they never bobbled. Best on the market and only £10.

Another vote for lovall here. They’re lovely thick cotton - I don’t like other fabric leggings. I have to size up though. They do different lengths and are definitely not see through.

Seasalt or Boody seasalt are looser, Boody are a tighter fit.

OP I have these too - under a tenner, often on offer and wash well. Lots of colours, too.

Out of interest what are you all wearing with leggings? I’m no longer in an office and enjoying dressing more comfortably but I don’t want to give up completely!

Jumpers just below bottom length or Sweaty Betty sweatshirts.

Funnel neck longer length (bum covering) sweatshirts here, with pockets, I’m a bit matchy matchy so have the leggings in black, navy and brown. Last winter I was wearing the black ones with checked flannel shirts, knitted neckerchiefs, chunky boots and long wool coat. Might give this look a go with my leggings and check shirt this winter…

I wear dresses over mine with DM like boots. They replace tights because I hate them.

Halara. Best leggings I’ve ever had by a mile. I wear them every day for work (outdoor therapist), they are the right thickness without being heavy, wash well, keep their shape and colour and they have a little pocket which is handy

I have many pairs of Halara leggings and I absolutely love them. I wear mine to yoga, Pilates and barre classes and they’re brilliant.

Max & Mia are lovely thick cotton with high wide waistband. I get them in Costco or new with tags on Vinted.

M&S 'cosy' jeggings are wonderfully comfortable and the only jeggings I've found that actually feel like I'm wearing leggings.

I like the Amazon 'buttery soft' ones but they are a bit thin for winter. They layer well though so I just wear two pairs.

Thanks all, I will try those Amazon ones. Although they’re only £6.91 currently????

They are fantastic. I have the brown ones on today, 3 years old and still look like new.

Shinyandnew1 · 01/10/2026 11:20

I wouldn’t bother with the Amazon ones-the are cheap and baggy and very very thin! The best I have ever had are from Wallis.
