Where to get good black leggings

Starting off by saying no, I don’t care if you don’t like leggings. Just move along…. 😂

Anyway, looking for some good black leggings to wear with a baggy t-shirt etc. have been researching and reading articles, however all Vogue etc seems to review are leggings around the £100 mark 🙄. Looking for some good ones that are more “normal” high street. Style

I buy the next cotton leggings. £10 a pair and available in multi packs.
They don't last forever but are really soft and comfortable. Not 100% opaque but pretty good coverage if you're wearing a baggy t shirt.
I work in a school and pair then with tunics as I prefer them to tights.

I do also have a similar pair from Shein which are actually also really comfortable.

I bought some nice ones from M&S. They were extra long length and a decent fabric that isn’t ’see through’ iygwim.

JaneJeffer · 26/09/2026 21:23

I got some good DKNY ones in TK Maxx

ToadRage · 26/09/2026 21:29

I like the F&F high waisted ones from Tesco also can get two packs from Nutmeg on Morrisons that are pretty good. I wear leggings almost daily so don't want to spend a fortune on them. I have navy ones from Sainsbury's but they do black too.

Butterluxe by CRZ Yoga are my absolute favourite. They’re SO comfortable and on Amazon. Loads of colours as well if you don’t just want black

Yes they need to be squat and bend over proof 😂

I second Tesco. Not Sainsbury's or M&S as they develop holes more quickly

lavendersweetly · 26/09/2026 21:50

I get mine from Asos!

Spaniels4Eva · 26/09/2026 22:07

You need Ponte leggings which are a much thicker fabric. Best ones I've found are M & S, they hold their shape well and wash well.

minnowonthesay · 27/09/2026 03:47

I agree with @LittleGungHo the Amazon ones linked are excellent, I’ve recommended them to so many friends who all agree.

PizzaPowder · 27/09/2026 03:59

Mint Velvet.

Alwaystired23 · 27/09/2026 04:15

I've got a 3 pack of black ribbed ones from Next. I find them really comfortable and a bit thicker.

Trumpton · 27/09/2026 06:43

3rd vote for the Amazon ones posted above by LittleGungHo. So soft and decently high waisted so they don’t slip.

GoodBones · 27/09/2026 07:07

Years ago I bought two pairs of the matalan soluxe sports leggings in plain black - they look like normal leggings but nice thick fabric.

They have washed and lasted so well - super comfy - and by far the most reliable and most worn thing in my wardrobe. (spend my days on the school run/walking the dog/WFH)

Jamas42 · 27/09/2026 07:12

I swear by the ones from Lovall (used to be Love Leggings) - high waisted, not at all see through and don’t go baggy at the knees after a few hours like I’ve found with loads of others. They were recommended to me on here years ago and I’ve never looked back 😅 They also do really cosy winter ones which have a fleece lining.

I see lots of recommendation for Amazon ones too although I haven’t tried them myself yet!

Yes, my M&S ones are lovely

LlynTegid · 27/09/2026 07:31

It's a pity the good ones are only £100.

Soft and high wasted.
Not see through or baggy knee’ed.

Another vote for these. They are great! 👍

Summerhillsquare · 27/09/2026 08:08

I've had my Decathlon ones for years, still in perfect nick, supportive and not seen through.

piscofrisco · 27/09/2026 08:49

Halara. Best leggings I’ve ever had by a mile. I wear them every day for work (outdoor therapist), they are the right thickness without being heavy, wash well, keep their shape and colour and they have a little pocket which is handy

Bobcurlygirl · 27/09/2026 09:04

Love leggings are amazing

somanychristmaslights · 27/09/2026 17:20

Thanks all, I will try those Amazon ones. Although they’re only £6.91 currently????

I have loads of black leggings from loads of different places,

My favourites are declathlon (cheap) and Boden (pricey), the Decathlon ones are so comfortable.
