@BeanNaGealai - the very idea! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. You are a bad influence! To be honest I do really want to reduce my stash. My weakness has been Caroline Hirons kits and they are full size products. Plus I have loads of things from edits, GWPs and previous calendars. I have ended up having to throw out expensive products that have expired. Which is ridiculous. I will get The White Company one this year. And I will definitely be in the market for a beauty calendar next year. I am enjoying showing ChatGPT the details of calendars and reading the critiques and reasons why I should not buy though. It’s quite funny.

They've told me that they use royal mail πŸ˜•

that so weird. I wonder…Would there be some sort of dispensation for companies, or arrangement for those organisations with Royal Mail? Us mere mortals at the post office counters probably pose more of a security risk with our little vials than shipping companies. Which is likely why they’re strict. The shipping companies themselves will have the insurance, carry the β€˜risk’ , fill out the paperwork. Etc etc. This is their livelihood, can’t see them wanting to tarnish their reputation by giving you inaccurate information. Is there a contact, even an AI bot on their website you could chat to? Likely not the first query of this nature they’ll have had. Xx

IlovePond · 23/09/2026 22:13

@XelaM - you could stick with the LF but replace a few of the doors with β€˜fun’ items. If you went into Sephora or SNK, the staff there could tell you what the mid-teens are currently into.

JoRaRaRa · 23/09/2026 22:16

I think I'm just going to see if I can click and collect it tomorrow, the when it goes into store for collection, I'll have to see if I can get a cheap flight there and back 🀭

IlovePond · 23/09/2026 22:17

I’ve just watched a YESSTYLE a/c unboxing video and, I must admit, it’s a lot better than I thought from just reading the contents.

As I have just ordered lots of stuff from SK, I can’t order YESSTYLE too. But I don’t think I would stand much chance of getting my hands on one anyway!

BeanNaGealai · 23/09/2026 21:49

That sounds interesting. Where in the republic do they have the stores?

Edited - found them. Nowhere near me unfortunately.

Edited

Postal Store pick-up points in Cork, Drogheda, Kildare, Leitrim, Leixlip, Letterkenny, Longford, Maynooth, Ongar D15, Ratoath (Meath), Sligo, Strabane, Swords, Westmeath (Mullingar I think). HTH

Oh no πŸ˜” I didn't realise this and parcel flow never mentioned it despite me telling them what I was planning to buy. Doesn't seem like I'll be able to get the calendar after all 😭 I don't know anyone who could split up and post it out to me. I could always fly over for it but seems an expensive day out.

I also seriously considered the BT AC. I contacted 2 forwarding services in NI with good reviews online. Both said they don't ship perfume. And, I also considered flying over to get it, but the cost of that made the calendar more than I wanted to spend on it.

Instead, I've purchased SAC, HAC and LFAC. Selfridges had a few specific high value items I'll use and Harrods is a bit of an introduction to nicer skincare. LF is the one I haven't looked at and will provide a daily surprise.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 23/09/2026 22:19

@JoRaRaRa Perhaps you could be a BAC mule for us lot? I’m interested in the Brown Thomas BAC but thwarted by geography/Brexit.

Donsyb · 23/09/2026 22:19

SheilaFentiman · 23/09/2026 17:53

But will that expire before 13th Oct launch?

Not sure, but the point was more about checking sparks offers when going to purchase (something I often forget to do!)

I used to work with a courier company. Businesses have different rules than β€˜gen pop’. This is because they agree the packaging that will be used and the couriers are confident that there is unlikely to be breakage/ spillage etc. When a random person send something it is less likely to be packaged properly and more likely to break.

In my defence, I have been badly influenced. I too have an enormous stash that I am trying to reduce.

I was only going to get the HFAC. I should have stopped following these threads when I bought that but yet here I am, planning on buying BT tomorrow and the Boots skincare if it’s still on discount when they update my points from today’s purchase.

I'm already thinking it's going to weigh a ton for me to get just one back on a flight 🀣

Seahorses12 · 23/09/2026 22:37

I thought I'd share my Sephora Hell from today! Earlier as I mentioned, when I arrived at the store, intending to be in and out in 10 mins as I had a lunch with boyf planned, within seconds the fire alarm sounded and the entire wing of the shopping centre had to be evacuated and closed off. They wouldn't let us leave to retrieve our cars for 3 whole hours!!!! It was torture. Turned out a van had caught fire in the carpark at Westfield White City. Anyway, after that very long wait, during which I did more shopping than intended in the rest of the area, as soon as it reopened and we were allowed home, I went back into Sephora determined to buy an advent. As a previous poster mentioned, I got 15% off setting up a new membership (with the staff taking pity on me), so I got it for 211, which I was pleased about. I made my way back to get my car lugging the extremely heavy box, only to be stopped in John Lewis and not allowed to access the carpark for health and safety following on from the fire. Another half an hour wait with a bunch of fed up people and agitated workmen trying to go home. We were offered hot drinks as compensation. And no charge for parking. What a day....And then I got home and checked the advent contents, it was trulywonderful, so very happy with it.😊

JoRaRaRa · 23/09/2026 22:38

If anyone fancies a day trip to Dublin though, let me know 🀣 I'm hoping I can do either 2nd or 9th Oct. Am I mad? Please tell me this is reasonable behaviour.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 23/09/2026 22:39

Gosh what an outing @Seahorses12! Please tell me you got scran at some point, I felt hungry reading that. And I would have gone quite mad with hunger if I’d been held somewhere for three hours over lunchtime, I even block out 12-12:30 at work so I am guaranteed time to grab something to eat.

Long as the flight is a reasonable price, it’s reasonable behaviour! Sometimes flying is cheaper than rail fares. Will it go in hand luggage? Are there any restrictions on liquids in hand luggage these days? So long since I have flownπŸ˜‚

Isabelle70 · 23/09/2026 22:51

With shipping the BT calendars is there anyone that can accept them and have DHL collect and ship? They will stick a hazardous label and handle them correctly. My Harrods calendars are currently with DHL waiting on shipping to the Channel Islands.

Yes, luckily I managed to get some food from another area, thanks! It reminded me of Ryan Air delays when you're trapped in an airport for hours waiting for news and can't go anywhere and you have no choice.

Fillybuster · 23/09/2026 23:36

Late night check in to say thanks for the new thread @26inprogress

FOMO (is it fomo if you have already got something??) hit this morning and I bought a second JL FAC in the 30 seconds between getting out of bed at 6.30am and my brain catching up with my fingers and pointing out that I’ve barely started trying all the scents from the first one I was lucky enough to score a few weeks ago, plus there’s all the Liberty BAC perfumes, and I’m still considering Harrods / BT BACs. Ah well. What’s done before I’m awake doesn’t count, right?

Carefully not looking at Boots skincare right now. Honest.

@DidILeaveTheGasOn thank you for absolutely cracking me up several times today when I sneaked a peek at this thread during a very long meeting. Although I did struggle to keep a straight face πŸ˜‚

Thelifeofawife · 24/09/2026 01:00

@JoRaRaRa I was literally thinking the same re BT and flights, I was looking on Ryanair earlier this evening πŸ˜…
I can’t imagine that a BAC/FAC could be allowed as hand luggage due to volumes of fragrances, therefore for a reasonably timed flight and hold luggage it was around Β£100.

I realised just how dippy I am that it didn’t occur to me that my Dsis now lives in Dublin! (In my defence it’s a recent move)
However, I sent her something this week and it was delivered to the wrong address, so I wouldn’t trust that as an option (and I’m furious that her parcel has gone awol)

I’m half asleep now so can’t remember everyone who replied regarding the postage situation, but thank you all for the info! πŸ’ I think I’m starting to wrap my head around it all now

I love that this is a day out you’re planning. Trips are fun and we should spend our time doing things that we love and buying things which make us happy - win win!

I haven’t been to Dublin in about 25 years and think I need a weekend away there soon as it was such a fun city!
