Non- gunty jeans

CharlieBoff · Today 13:19

Please help a gal out here.

I have recently put on a lot of weight, it’s medication and I’m working on sensible ways of losing it but in the meantime EVERY SINGLE pair of trousers I have is gunty. I have one skirt and one pair of black trousers which don’t make me look like shit but everything looks horrendous. I’d love some advice on styles that won’t make me look terrible but also go with “my vibe”. Said vibe is lots of sage, burgundy and brown, comfy vibes but still okay for the odd meeting. I love the look of tucking my many shirts into my trousers (long live the French tuck) but am avoiding it like the plague atm - if I do tuck; gunt. If I don’t tuck; massive. Please help!

No advice but the title of this thread made my day 😂

Notsosweetcaroline · Today 13:23

What’s your height and size and what age range are you?

WildFatball · Today 13:24

What does gunty mean?

Autumnallaround · Today 13:25

Googling 'gunty'.

Googling 'gunty'.

I’m not sure I want to Google it!!

SerendipityCat · Today 13:28

I googled it. Wish I hadn’t.

Autumnallaround · Today 13:29

It means a fat roll on the lower belly according to Google and to wave future posters from asking.

I'm of the opinion that no one will be looking and so wear what you like.

Purplecatshopaholic · Today 13:31

Only here for the ‘gunty’ explanations, lol..

I don’t know about OP but I find comments like no one will be looking, and wear what you likeinfuriating.
I am looking, it’s not about anyone else.

Wellshellsbells · Today 13:49

Is it a mish mash of gut and c u next Tuesday ? If so it’s a fabulous word!

I agree. If “nobody is looking” is true then body-shaming, fat-shaming etc wouldnt exist. In fact, the whole fashion industry wouldnt exist!

Me too.

most women dress for themselves, to feel good, confident, sexy, comfortable. Whatever. Then other women second. And then men third, if they are trying to pull

and of course people look , this forum alone shows so many threads on others dress, I really struggle to beleive anyone actually thinks no matter how you dress no one looks.

Autumnallaround · Today 14:00

I was trying to make the op feel more confident about her gunt! Of course I know that women dress for themselves and want to feel good.

EgregiouslyOverdressed · Today 14:01

Is a gunt the same as a FUPA?

No, more of an apron belly, I think.

It’s the first time ever I’ve had to google what a word means that I’ve read on MUMSNET.

I’ve never heard of Gunty before. Thank you for educating me.

I hope you find your perfect pair of Non-Gunty 👖x

Lol. I thought gunty was a common phrase, shows what I know! And as a word I love it, as a physical thing I DETEST IT!

I've just taken one for the team and Googled FUPA. Stands for fat upper pubic area. Men and women can have it.

FWIW I clicked on the thread assuming 'gunty' was a dialect term for the infamous trouser camel toe effect. #EveryDaysASchoolday.

I’m not aware of the term “gunty”?

fuschiaproudparrot · Today 14:30

Wide legged jeans will make it less obvious.

No it’s an awful word and it’s normally used by men to be abusive about women’s bodes.

anyway, at 5 ft 2 and 15 stone, you must be an 18- 20 dress size ?

If so, then I’d suggest loose fitting tops. Gently skimming your mid area, coming down to your lower hips, and jeans or trousers to skim.
