I am the same re not needing any more fragrances and have the Valaya and Delina exclusif from the Harrods FAC and still have a number of 10ml from the Escentual set last year.
I am also planning on ordering Brown Thomas and hoping JL FAC is available online tomorrow and those should be my last advent purchases until the sales.

@MrsBnow12 are you in the Brown Thomas delivery area or have you determined a reliable forwarding service? If a forwarding service, do you mind me asking who you're using? The calendar looks amazing. Unfortunately, reviews on forwarding services are concerning.

It was a star of a calendar , it got me into Paula’s choice , Violette SPF , Hourglass blush and Sisley black rose face mask . All of these I love and have repurchased . But it was my first BIG Bbac . I think I am a bit jaded as well with all the edits . I did love last years Liberty but this years didn’t do it for me which hurts because I love the boxes .

I wonder if I’ll ever get that first buzz again . This is not a good sentence πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Here is the 2024 one for comparison purposes

https://beauty-detective.com/space-nk-advent-calendar-2024-review/

I feel a bit had if I'm honest especially as it was more expensive than most of the others

Loved this advent. I sold the milk primer, Sunday riley and kate somerville but have used (or still using) everything else.

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I’m missing the dopamine too!

I just want to feel a good euphoric hit when there’s something new and fabulous to purchase, but unfortunately it’s all been a bit of a damp squib this year πŸ₯±
I loved the Violette SPF and love Sisley night masks.

I am not in the delivery area but am very fortunate and have a friend who will act as the forwarding service for me. I am repaying them by shipping their Harrods Fragrance advent over.

@RoseTeaLady are you typing a code like this into check fresh?

1b9e1

Because I have tried a code like that from my advent eye cream and from my bought-this-year vit C serum and they are both coming up with a 2021 manufacturing date. Which does make me wonder if checkfresh is correct.

I ran the code on LotDate and it comes up as January 2021 manufacture date.

You can see by my checking history that SR codes also appear to be very old, but was there talk of SR recycling their lot codes?

Oh yes..I was thinking that too, I still haven’t finished a few of those, or even have a couple unopened 😳

I'll be happily using my Chantecaille cheek gelee for the rest of my life, a drop at a time!

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/09/2026 21:13

I wonder if we need a subsidiary category for newcomers that aren’t - gosh, I had the word and it has immediately escaped me when writing this. This is my first year buying BACs and I am so excited, so, it kinda sucks a little bit to see that this year’s offerings aren’t good. I’m really chuffed with the calendars I’ve bought.

I wouldn't worry to be honest.

A good calendar for me includes lots of new products I haven't tried yet so thats very subjective. I speak for myself (and probably others here) that it gets harder and harder to find new products because I buy so much!

It’s my all time favourite AC product, too. I use it several times a week, and still have half or so of the tube left.

I think a few of us on here are a bit jaded and comparing to previous years..if you are new it all you will probably still get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

I think there's still quite a bit of excitement around them. I mean, we've all been discussing them on these threads since like July time. The good thing is, we're all different and something one of us doesn't like, someone else would absolutely love. I'm sure you will love yours and be excited when it gets to December πŸ₯° you'll be jumping out of bed to go open the next door πŸ’ƒπŸ»

I don't think the SpaceNK advent has changed that much although the LE lipstick and the Chantecaille blush were highlights that year. I didn't buy the 2024 one but at the time it was my first year discovering such delights existed so I remember drooling over it a lot.

Looking at it now with 2026 eyes I feel largely the same about that one as this year's offering. It's nice, the value is there but I'm not wowed because between edits, samples, other advents and the Liberty Beauty Drop none of those brands are new and exciting to me now.

I think SpaceNK could have tried a bit harder with the curation this year as it's lacking a bit of glam in favour of the perfunctory but the main problem is more of a me thing. I spent decades not having nice things due to the limitations of a young family, then they all grew up and now I have lots of nice things for me but it's not as exciting now a few years later.

That's a lot of words to say I don't think you can recapture that initial thrill of a very posh BAC. πŸ˜‚

SummerLimes · 20/09/2026 22:01

@DidILeaveTheGasOn you’ve picked some really lovely things. Your mint’d shopping was quite inspiring 😊 I’m definitely getting 1 or 2 when I make my mind up, I’m just taking too long to decide so need to stop dithering.

Thelifeofawife · 20/09/2026 22:12

@TreesinthePark @LagoLady Oh I ended up with 2 of these and sold them as I didn’t think I’d use them - kind of regretting it now I’ve seen the love it’s getting.

@OvaHere Thanks for the LF heads up. I’ve been waiting for a discount. Do we think a better one will come along? I do have Β£15 in points too so would bring it to under Β£100 but I’d rather not waste my points if there’s likely to be further discounts

Not sure. They are dispatching them from next week I think so probably a last push for orders. It might be reduced again in a few weeks if not sold out but it's hard to tell.

SoloCat · 20/09/2026 22:29

I think that’s it, it’s not as exciting when you’ve tried a lot of the products. I started having them back in the early Liberty years. I don’t think they were better as such, just new and exciting. It’s all subjective though, everyone loves different things. I’d just like that feeling of the new discovery again, it’s like your first love.
Anyone new to it, enjoy your calendars…it’s a lovely feeling.

I went looking for one on Vinted a couple of months ago (not the shade from the advent) and there was a ton on there clearly from the SNK 2024 advent but still priced around Β£20 + . It's almost 2 years since that advent!

I think there’s something in this. I got beauty advents when they first came out then didn’t bother for a number of years, mainly because after years of experimenting I’d found the products that work well for me. Last year I got my first Liberty beauty advent as a gift and loved it because most of the products were new to me.

I’ve loved trying all the products but I’ve discovered that I personally haven’t been missing out and that some of the new products out nowadays are ridiculously expensive but don’t give me any better results. First thing that comes to mind is the AB eye cream from it that I’ve been using religiously!

And reading posts about expensive products with the Β£5 price labels on them makes you think too.

I still look at all of the calendars each year and work out the value of the things that I’d really want to try; it’s never anywhere near the cost of the calendar though and I’d rather spend the money on things I really want. I don’t sell stuff as I’ve done this in the past (with non beauty stuff) and it’s not worth my time or energy so it all goes to charity/ family now.

IlovePond · 21/09/2026 00:27

@keepincool - I think all the companies recycle their codes every ten years.

I checked the codes of loads of my products after MissBoux’s expose of Next across two checking sites and my findings made grim reading and led to a big cull of my stash.

OP posts:
IlovePond · 21/09/2026 00:47

I love the idea of beauty advent calendars and do get very excited about them.

However, a few things have taken the edge off a bit for me this year:

Out of date/damaged/old stock in Liberty. Plus the insult to customers in sending out replacements with £5 stickers on. (Got to be honest, I am not getting past this, so once I have spent my BD money, I will be done with Liberty once and for all 😿)

All the drip-feeding - I have no problem with calendars not being released until later in the year, but please just tell us the contents at the same time as I find the β€˜hints’ annoying. For example, the Tidal Glow a/c could be the best calendar ever but I am so over it already 😹

The release β€˜mistake’ - I am miffed that the JLFAC dropped on 1/9 instead of 21/9, with not a word of explanation from JL!

Having said all that:

I think SNK is visually impressive.
Sephora Favourites is - for me - better than last year’s
Elle looks lovely
Selfridges - I like a lot of what is in this year’s a/c - again - for me - it’s better than 2025’s
Harrods’ BAC is much, much better - imo - than last year’s. If money was no object, I would already have bought this one!

OP posts:
IDontHateRainbows · 21/09/2026 07:08

There's definitely a BAC fatigue aspect for those of us doing this a while who also probably get a lot of edits throughout the year. Selfridges was of no interest to me as I've pretty much experienced them all before through various sources. Maybe that's why the liberty men's one was one of the best for me personally this year - gave me a chance to try some new things.
Maybe I need a completely new type of advent calendar to get in to - food, socks etc? I'd be quite partial to a cheese one....

CorneliaStreet · 21/09/2026 07:23

It would help if the calendars had more new release products in. Often there’s a good serum but it’s one that came out a couple of years ago so lots of people will have already tried it. In the meantime that same brand will have brought out several new products, so put those in instead.
