@RoseTeaLady Please let us know what Lumene say. I’ve got that calendar waiting for October too. Again I only paid approx £40 for it but it’s not very good if I need to throw out half of it.

Though @SheilaFentiman’s post is reassuring so fingers crossed 🤞

I loved the Parfums de Marly advent last year but will
skip this year as still have most of my Valaya from
last years Harrods

This doesn't wow me like it did last year. That said, if it does go in the sale at Selfridges like it did last year, I might buy it. Last year I bought at full price and then went in a right Grinch mood when selfridges reduced it 🤣 I won't be doing that again. I do like Valaya but I wish it was one of the ones I didn't have a fs of, like Delina la rosee, meliora or athenais (but that's the new one so would've been unlikely).

I think I prefer the penhaligon's though this year so I'll look out for that one being reduced.

Caggie09 · 20/09/2026 14:35

Not buying this years PDM. I dont think ive opened the Valaya from last years Harrods AC🫣

Also worth keeping an eye on the PDM website as I ordered from them and paid full price but got some great freebies included. Just looked and the freebies were a 180g candle and 2 x 10mls, I ordered on 22 November so must have been a BF offer.
Comparing the two advents, last year we had a small candle and extra 5ml

I made a modest profit on the contents of my HFACs and got the items I wanted ‘for free’. I priced my items competitively and they sold swiftly. If I sold the items I’m keeping I’d probably boost my profit by around £300 as I’ve kept the Brompton Immortals. I really like Ex Nihilo fragrances and given the calendar cost the same as Brompton Immortals it seemed a no brainer, and I’ve also discovered a few others I like.

Edited

This is my aim, but I ALWAYS love the good stuff and all the bits I‘m happy to get rid of only raise about £25!

RoseTeaLady · 20/09/2026 15:02

@SheilaFentiman That’s very reassuring. Thanks. I’ve had another sniff of the cleanser and I wonder if it’s the oat milk that I’m smelling? I used the shampoo earlier in the year and it was fab.

@Thelifeofawife Will do. I really like them as a brand.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/09/2026 15:03

I’ve spent quite a bit on Vinted (£90) for products from the Space NK advent - two Votary serums, K18 Heat protectant, Phlur Missing Person and Ole Henrikson lip treatment. I am super happy with that. But, bizarrely, as I’ve realised how much I’ve spent, I’ve thought, ‘well, I might as well buy the calendar’. My brain is on crack.

hattie43 · 20/09/2026 15:05

user626 · 20/09/2026 12:39

Is anyone buying the Penhaligons calendar? I’m tempted as I can get 15% off with BLC. The few fragrances I’ve tried I’ve really liked but a lot of the calendar is unknown to me

I’ve bought it and am thrilled . I love most of the calendar and the couple of bits that aren’t my taste I’ll give to friends . The box is gorgeous aswell , a decorative item or storage once finished with .

I managed to pick up the Medik8 cream and Sunday Riley serum from the CB advent for £50 (+ fees, shipping, etc). Thankfully that put me right off the advent 😮‍💨

I also bought the bag the Liberty advent came in. I am going to use it as a Santa overflow sack for my DC. It’s really pretty.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 20/09/2026 15:28

Love that @user593.

That reminds me. Is there anywhere I could buy one or two space NK or Sephora bags, like you’d get if you shopped at the stores? Someone on Reddit mentioned shopping their stash and putting their ‘haul’ into a nice shopping bag and I thought that sounded great, like a fun experiment to see how easily pleased my inner shopping gremlin is. If it works I’d be made up.

IDontHateRainbows · 20/09/2026 15:43

I saw the JL BAC in store today but wasn't tempted. Its a poor imitation of last year's and the previouses. Particularly the fragrance offering is a lot poorer. For me to see it literally in front of my nose but walk away empty handed is a sure sign it has ( imo) gone downhill.

Suprise win for me this year was the fenwick.

Gosh you little legend, will do!

Laylora · 20/09/2026 16:07

Hi everyone,

I’ve been lurking here for a little while and finally decided to sign up because I wanted to talk about Niche Beauty. I’ve literally seen no discussion on their advent calendars anywhere. I realise they are a little pricey compared to most but I absolutely could not resist the gorgeous burgundy case that came with the luxury version.

Has no one here been tempted with them? The price was a bit less of a sting when I discovered I’d been given two of days 22 and 25! I suppose the silk baggy format helped with that - would be harder to miss too much product in a cardboard drawer!

I ended up with two Suzanne Kaufmann Eye Rescue Serums (£98) and two Royal Fern PN Boosting Serums (£180)! Retail price on the extras alone is more than half the cost of the calendar.

SheilaFentiman · 20/09/2026 16:17

Welcome @Laylora

MaryBD has both the Classic and the Luxury Niche calendars on her site, but at £330/£450, they are definitely on the pricey side (accidental double drawers notwithstanding- lucky you!)

Agree that’s a lovely case with the Luxury one though!

Hi,

I do like them. I came very close to buying last year's. They launched a bit late in the day when I'd committed to others and the price is a bit high for a last minute 'oh just one more'. 😂I'm glad you love yours and well done on the bonus items.

pinkchampagne1 · 20/09/2026 16:36

I have not caved and ordered any more advent calendars yet (have Harrods BAC and Harrods fragrance AC) but have got the SR serum from CB, the Foreo device (that I don’t even know that I need but it was a bargain) and Jo Loves candle from JL, and the SR Good Genes from SNK calendar from Vinted, so I am still spending money!

Do we think the Fenwick calendar is going to come back? They seem to be taking forever sorting the ingredients list, or whatever the issue was 🥺

I did manage to get some freebies on the website, or I should say that Santa did 🤭 If I'm going to get one, I'd like the Penhaligon's but we'll see. I still plan to buy the sfac and the BT which has a lot fragrances in, so I'm not going to be in need.

That said, if anyone wants to sell me the baroness one from the penhaligon's, pm me 🙏🏻

IDontHateRainbows · 20/09/2026 16:58

PDM are good for freebies I'll give them that. Now whether to wait until black friday and risk it selling out is the question. I'm going to be in london this week and wasn't planning to go to covent garden but now I've seen this has been released I could... could be a bit tempted. Last time I got a few freebies including a lovely perfume tile. Then again the freebies on the website may be better. I like Valaya, would have preferred Oriana but you can't have everything. Then again, they were 1/3 off in selfridges BF sale and I'd be kicking myself for not waiting if that happens again.
