I really like the look of Harrods this year - I just wish it wasn’t £270!

It was just after 8am. I kept a note of the time as I was thinking the same as you.

It is lovely. I have sold a few bits which has brought overall cost down. It also has the AB eye cream which we both loved, that was a big draw for me. I do love the Liberty one too despite the issues, they’ve been much better from a CS point of view than Harrods.

I think all these BAC problems have made me glad I sticked to a FAC. I did order the CB BAC but the box was badly bashed in and I was already on the fence about it so I sent it back. My Harrods FACs were perfect.

@26inprogress - I must admit - the AB eye cream is THE big draw for me with Harrods!

That’s so kind of you @keepincool but I don’t actually have one myself. I am thinking of ordering the Harrods a/c and was wondering if there were the same problems with old/expired stock as Liberty. Fortunately, it appears not.

I emailed Sisley regarding the Essential skin care lotion in the Liberty calendar as I checked the batch code on 2 different websites and got different dates from each. Here is their response.

Please be assured the quality of our products are guaranteed as long as they are kept and stored in appropriate conditions and unopened. Once opened, the PAO symbol - represented by an open jar printed on the product packaging with a period in months (M) - indicates the time period during which the product can be used safely after opening.

Some products do not have a PAO as they are anhydrous, the PAO is therefore not required by regulations. Some websites provide information on expiry and manufacturing dates. We do not provide the sites with any information and do not validate the information they have provide.

I love the AB eye cream. I got one last year in the Liberty BAC and put off using it for ages as eye cream seemed like a faff and I was only just getting in to skin care at the time. I'm still not sure how much difference it makes but it feels so lovely that I was a bit sad about getting to the end of it and not being able to justify spending that much on one cream. It definitely swung getting Harrods for me in the end along with really wanting to try the Sisley lipstick.

My Elle arrived too and yes, I had to fight my way through the packaging! Unbelievably strong and secure packaging. Very impressed with the whole thing.

I’ve put it on top of the bedroom drawers, with the others. I shall admire them for a while. I just need the Debenhams Fragrance now and I will stop. I will stop … I will stop ….

I checked most of mine and they were mostly manufactured in 2025. Everything was well within date.

I can give you the short version if that helps!

Basically, dont over use actives like retinoids or anything exfoliating (aha, bha, pha, vitc etc), keep an eye on if your skin starts to get red, feel tight or flaky or sore. If it does scale down on the above, step up on stuff with plenty of ceramides in to help repair. Use a good occlusive cream to hold in the moisture. Cera ve cream is great for this.

I couldn’t find the batch code on my La Prairie cleanser as it didn’t come in a box.

It’s been a week since I last ordered an advent calendar and it’s been a long week at work so I find myself pondering if I need the cult beauty signature advent. Do I? I do want the Medik8 and AB cream from it. I do NOT want the blush!

Do they have an offer on it at the moment - either double points or a voucher? If not maybe hang on because they will do another round of incentives before too long to entice.

Ive used medik 8 peptides which my skin loved but using tatcha dewy over the top at night. My face is redder in the morning. 😫🤪
Ive just looked up if you use a serum like that anything on top will go deeper into your skin and could cause a reaction and extra sensitivity. 🤔😳
I do go in with 2 feet first. 🤪🤣
Ive used the tatcha dewy before and been ok but ofcourse my skin is more reactive atm so will hold off on that. I have a good barrier cream somewhere so need to dig it out. I need to have a good sort out through my very large stash. 🤩

@user626 - that’s an interesting response from Sisley because they definitely have manufacturing codes on their products - my two toners were manufactured in 2025.

I’m taking their reply to mean that they don’t give out - i.e. provide specific manufacturing dates to curious customers - probably to protect themselves and their stockists. I’m a bit disappointed in them, tbh.

By contrast Liz Earle were very upfront and helpful when I contacted them.

Yes, thank you from me too to whoever mentioned the Latest in Beauty teen box - I can’t find it on this thread so it must have been the previous one. The box looks great and is much more suitable for my 13 year old than any of the advent calendars I’ve seen so she’ll be getting a non beauty advent and then I’ll either add these to her stocking or wrap it as it comes.

I’ve been umming and ahhing over the teen LiB box. I bought it last year for DD for her Jan birthday as she was turning 13 and she loved it. She says she’d like another when I asked her last week. But having done an inventory of my own stash (to stop me buying JL BAC as I really need to use up what I have plus my Frankenstein BAC!) I have asked her to do an inventory as I have no idea what she has left. I’ve already prepped most of a Frankenstein for her from my 2025 Lumene Jadvent but wonder if that’s not interesting enough…

Its hard (and time consuming) to think about these things for two of us now! 😂

Arg I'm agonising now over whether to jump in late and get the Harrods, though I'd have to sell a decent proportion to let me afford to keep the bits I really fancy trying OR to get another CB for the medik8, AB and mascara that I have loved from my first one (plus other bits) but again I'd have to be able to sell the remainder to help cover costs. First world problems here 😂😳
Think I might have another coffee and reread all the threads here to see if I can be influenced one way or another!!!

Which are the bits you want? Providing it's not half of the calendar is it more cost effective to pick up resale?

There's a tipping point with calendars where it's better to just buy one but Harrods is expensive at £270. So maybe work out roughly what you could pick stuff up for to see which is the better option.
