Are these shoes fashionable again?

Ballerinas are supposedly in again. I have these shoes from around 2010-2013, are they wearable again? I have them in a few colours, I used to find them very comfortable. I know I can wear what I want but I want to be vaguely fashionable. Are they fashionable again or can you clearly see that they are 15 year old shoes?

OP I found similar when clearing out my 94 year old grandmothers house a decade ago. With a matching patent lady handbag.

Please donate them to charity immediately so some old dear can grab a bargain.

Hi op sorry but these are a bad example fashion wise of ballerina shoes. Ballerina shoes, in any case, are also often not good for the body (as per the other extreme with high heels) because they don't provide enough support. At least the ones that have been malingering at the back of your wardrobe for a long time look as though they could be more supportive for the foot!

As long as it's "fashion", some people will wear it regardless of what they look like. Just check out some of the " young fashionistas". Shoes do not need to be stilettos to have a heel on them. I will never be convinced that completely flat shoes are flattering no matter who is wearing them - even if you are a fashionista. 🤑

I notice if a woman is wearing high heels now. They look so out of place and uncomfortable.

They're a bit old lady, but I think if you wear new items with them you could make a bit of a statement. Don't make them a dress shoe with dress trousers, for example. Wear them with good jeans, jacket, handbag.

I wore them as my school shoes back in the late 2000’s. Thank god school’s uniform policies are a lot stricter now.

They were awful when I was a teen. And they’re still awful as I’ve approached my thirties.

I've been wearing the soft ballerinas since just after spring and love them, I've worn them with baggy jeans, Adidas pants and Adidas shorts for a while now. It felt like an odd combo at first but I like it

I like them and would still be wearing them. Not everything has to be “current”!

The particular version you shared is a dupe of the Tory Burch ballet flat with the big logo on which was very popular about 15 years ago.
Yes, ballet flats are back, but they no longer look like this. The toe shape is more elongated, or the vamp is higher, or they are a Mary-Jane style ballet flat. Buy some new ones.

Do you not get out much? The shoes you commented on are standard wear. Ballet flats are particularly favourites of the under 30s in my office. Almost nobody wears heels.

Yes, they will look nice with wide jeans or relaxed trousers in a similar colour.

I found them great early 2000s but I was running around with a baby/toddler I think there's still some under the bed. I'm not interested in wearing them again.

I love a ballerina shoe - this website looks fab. In fact, a quick look has brought up my dream ballerina that I've been searching for for years - round toe, leather, black, completely flat - but not in my size, unfortunately!

Or pointed toe. Plenty of those around too for a more minimal look.

Agree. There is an advert on TV here and the woman in it always had a odd gait, I eventually realised it's because she is tottering along in high heels. It looks ridiculous.

I'd say the shape of the toe is the obvious thing that changes - but also to a lesser degree the vamp & the sole/heel style. I think the most obvious change to ballerinas since the OP last wore hers though is the fashion for "hybrid" shoes. I suppose versions that fuse with Mary Janes have been around for a long time, then there are "sneakerinas" (I do dislike that word), ballet loafers, the Japanese Tabi toe versions - & these monstrosities! Ballerina + trainer + Tabi toe ... ugh.
