Are these shoes fashionable again?

Ballerinas are supposedly in again. I have these shoes from around 2010-2013, are they wearable again? I have them in a few colours, I used to find them very comfortable. I know I can wear what I want but I want to be vaguely fashionable. Are they fashionable again or can you clearly see that they are 15 year old shoes?

They really aren't as awful as posters are making out. On your feet they won't even be that noticeable especially with a long skirt or wide legged trousers.

As to whether ballet flats are in, Vogue et al seem to issue a ballet flats are back article every year. Given every shoe maker from Chanel to Tu always has them, it's a bit odd. The shape of the toe changes but the basic principle doesn't.

I buy 99% of my shoes from Pretty Ballerina and have done so for around 15 years.

I didn't realise they'd gone out of fashion! There are changes to the shape of them from time to time but they seem to be a perennial in one form or another.

They look nice with most outfits but sadly I am of the age where I need more support and cushioning than ballet flats can offer my poor old feet 😆

I think it's time to pull the chain once you start wearing flat shoes.

What now? What is wrong with flat shoes?

Loving the witches description it couldn’t be more accurate 🤣 I’m sorry OP but I’d definitely be double checking if you were wearing gloves and a wig and holding your nose if a child walked by if I saw you wearing those.
Ballet flats are definitely in fashion, just maybe have a look for some new ones.

That's plenty.

I still don't love them, but I'm going to say, they're not hugely dissimilar to these, which seem to be a perennial.

I do think ballerinas are quite fashionable at the moment. DD and her friends seem to mostly be wearing either the high vamp or squared toe ones

Theyve been in for a while - go for it!

Desperately unflattering to whoever is wearing them and.make women walk like penguins.

Better than walking like The Terminator because you've done the ligaments in your ankle for the 7th time and you're now on a waiting list for them to be cut in half and then sewed back on through drill holes made in your ankle, so you're in one boot cast and one platform soled trainer to avoid the asymmetry permanently damaging your hip and spine.

softer leather ones are in op. Fit flips have some great ones (and Mary Jane style!) that look very stylish.

Not the way I wear them ;-)
Heels often feel quite dated these days, unless you are attending a v glam event. And even then, there are beautiful flats around. Young fashionistas love flats!

Repetto is also a French ballet shoe company. Their stores are beautiful!

I’m not loving them, but I doubt I’d notice or think much about them if I saw you wearing them.

Mary Jane’s are probably more ‘in’ and more wearable. M&S usually have some - you certainly don’t need to be paying anything like £200 a pair!

Marieb19 · Yesterday 19:38

Nooooo- i hated ballerinas.

Jerrybalanitis · Yesterday 19:43

They are a dupe Tory Burch. Not really seen much now but they do still sell them in store. Actually thebClarksnare a little bit nicer. It depends what you wear them woth and whether you want to be 'fashionable'. I think they are fine if you like them. I have some Gucci ballerinas that I still wear occasionally, I prefer loafers though.

TooOrangey · Yesterday 19:43

They are the ultimate frumpy shoe. Those ones linked are just awful.

Holidaymodeon · Yesterday 20:24

They’re fine op, very similar black more formal flat shoes in selfridges now.
with the right clothes nobody’s gonna know. Or care tbh. Theyre great for an autumn winter wardrobe, not so much for summer floaty styles.

Clarkes is made to last quality and if your feet don’t grow as an adult, good shoes can last for decades as you’ve demonstrated .

lol, most heels look awkward and dated now for most occasions except party time or sexytime.

I would assume the wearer of these belonged to a religious community.

Why on earth would you assume that?

StylishAndBeautiful · Yesterday 20:35

They're fine, @GreenLemonade , wear them.

LlynTegid · Yesterday 20:36

Be an individual not someone who bows to the latest fashion. If you like them, wear them.
