Ok so I missed all the lovely CB kerfuffle/bargain this am but that's fine.

But only just had time to check having decided I want the JLP and I see it's sold out on pre-order (I imagine you all knew this but I had to jump through some hoops to find out) so I can just buy it tomorrow. Huh. No time given.

Any idea when Oh my Cream may be announced? I’ve ordered F&M and I’m debating on a second, and OMC is the only one left in the running before I go off piste and buy Vogue (looking between my fingers as I click ‘add to cart’). Super tempted by Rituals but it seems very expensive for the contents. Do they go on sale?

Rituals usually goes on sale, yes.

I've had the dispatch email for CB so have both that and Harrods (ordered the day it opened for pre-order) arriving tomorrow. Good job I'd already planned to work from home and will have the house to myself!

Still no voucher from CB though, even though they've sent it again. I'm going to try live chat in the morning - no idea what's going wrong as I get all their other emails.

With regards to selling stuff - is it actually worth it? I'm assuming most make up need to be sold for about £5 (although there are some very optimistic listings on there) so you'd have to sell quite a bit to make any real money.

I'm quite lazy and not sure I can be bothered with the hassle if I'm only going to make £30 or so. But then I will end up lipsticks I'll never wear if I don't sell them. If only I had a DD to give them to! DS is thoroughly uninterested...

It's a great question! It is to me - but I probably buy more than I sell on Vinted 😅So if I can sell a few things and have some credit available, that's great for me.

With advent calendars, some things I don't want in calendars I have, others I do want from calendars I don't have - so it feels like effectively trading.

And in general, I like Vinted for cheaper ways of trying, or replacing things. I've bought a few tops and dresses this year that have replaced exact ones I've damaged or worn out - I'm very grateful to the people that did list the items, even if old/basic/not worth a lot, as it meant I could get another one of a loved item (in generally great condition!).

So I'll also list what I can, when i have time - in case it is what someone else wants/needs, and I get a little cash, and a declutter at the same time.

It's a delicate equation of RRP + brand + popularity. Some stuff can be worth quite a bit (RRP) but not be very in demand so you won't get a lot for it. Other cheaper items might be highly desirable so still fetch a decent price.

Last year the AB rich eye cream from the Liberty calendar was selling for £30-50. I was lucky and managed to get one for about £30. It was a newly released item last year so whether it will hold it's value the same I don't know. Generally AB stuff does though as it's well liked and very expensive.

The mascara from one of the BACs last year is about £70 new (Chantecaille I think) I had to pay around £25 to get one of those

Something like the full size Hourglass blush that's in Harrods this year I would expect to sell for £15 -20 depending on how many are listed.

Obviously there's a saturation point. Selling items as soon as the BACs land command a better price compared to when there's loads of them up for sale January onwards.

I went back over my BAC list again and have (thankfully) decided against Selfridges. It does have a lot of stuff I want to try or want to replace but not enough to make it exciting for me, especially at the price point it is. Similar with JL.
So I’m going to go for SNK, because this does have the La Mer cream which I like and it’s got the Medik8 PDRN that I want to try, plus various other bits I want that are less spendy but soon add up. I’m trying to remember whether the Votary renewal serum is one I have buried in my stash already from last year.

I really want to know what else is in Sephora, and whether HN are going to still release one as I loved theirs last year.

Regarding CB BAC, both of my orders state dispatched on the app, but I haven’t received emails to say so. I have had my £20 voucher emails though. I can’t believe I ended up ordering 2, I will regret that given I’m already struggling for space!

Not impressed with the Stylevana advent unfortunately. Only a couple of things I’d want and the rest I’ve used before and don’t like or I’m not interested in. I don’t understand the point of putting a bb cream in an advent that can be either one of two shades.. it’s very unlikely to be a good shade match for most people 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have SNK confirmed a release date yet?
This is the one I want to buy but seeing other advent calendars selling out I’m starting to sweat now! I also noticed on the SNK website notifications to buy would be staged, those that were the first to sign up to the waitlist would get first dips. I only signed up a few days ago.
First year following this thread and there should be a disclaimer about the stress when they go on sale 🤣😳
