Is this outfit too baggy and shapeless? No special occasion, just heading out to meet someone for coffee and a browse in a garden centre but have some time before I leave and interested in opinions.
I’ve lost weight recently and so am a bit aimless about clothes just now

I feel the top is much more dressy than the trousers and trainers you’re wearing it with.

Sparkletastic · 06/08/2026 15:29

The trousers aren’t doing you justice. The top could work with better-fitting jeans or trousers.

lock7 · 06/08/2026 15:30

Change the trainers for sandals

Itsnouse · 06/08/2026 15:30

It’s a nice outfit. Wear it

GoldenPineapple15 · 06/08/2026 15:35

You look lovely.

Legomania · 06/08/2026 15:37

I like the colour combo.

Think sandals would make it too dressy.
The trousers might hang a little better if you turn them up inside rather than rolling

Normally I would wear wide trousers with a fitted top, possibly showing a bit more skin, just for balance

BreakingBroken · 06/08/2026 15:42

It’s a bit meh on all fronts, the neckline; too tight, pants too long and baggy.
I can’t quite put my finger on it.

Twodogsonthecouch · 06/08/2026 15:42

Definitely need to shorten the trousers properly. I love the top and it was expensive. I bought it when I was about 1.5 stone heavier but still love it. I agree though, I think it would be better with more fitted trousers. I think the wider leg shape and the very flowy top is probably too much fabric.
Thanks all, it’ll do for today and I’ll work on a better trousers

The top is really nice.

TheChosenTwo · 06/08/2026 15:45

It’s fine for an amble round a garden centre, it’s unremarkable and you won’t stand out for being neither very stylish nor badly out of place. It’s actually perfect for the garden centre!
do you really need the bag though, it’s just very big and contrasting with everything you’re wearing, not complimenting anything. Again, it’s absolutely fine but I think it would look better overall with either no bag (my preference in every day life) or something much smaller.

UpToonGirl · 06/08/2026 15:46

Does the top open up a bit on the neckline if you undo the tie?

I also think sandals would look nice. Well done on the weight loss!

NeatPinkFinch · 06/08/2026 15:48

I like it

FeliciaFancybottom · 06/08/2026 15:48

The cross-body bag is too short; it's cutting you off in a weird way.
The trouser turn-ups look awful and scruffy, and they need ironing.

Thatpastalife · 06/08/2026 15:51

I would say, the trousers are pulling at the front and don’t fit quite right. The tops nice but the bag is cutting it in two so not quite doing the flowiness justice. All the colours work well together but its not quite gelling for me.

Twodogsonthecouch · 06/08/2026 15:51

Ok. Much smaller bag and sunglasses will have to do. Haven’t time now to shorten trousers and iron trousers so scruffy will have to do 😂

excuse the grumpy face, not good at posing. Much happier in real life 😀

That bag is much better.

Gonnagetgoingreturnsagain · 06/08/2026 15:54

The trousers either don’t fit well or are too baggy, at least with that top.

Karma2023 · 06/08/2026 15:59

Looks good. Gold accessories would go well with the top.

watchingthishtread · 06/08/2026 15:59

Thumbs up from me.
Double thumbs up if you run an iron over the trousers.

MrsCillian · 06/08/2026 16:00

Up to the knee looks lovely, below the knee looks awful with the trousers not ironed, the trainers don't go and the turn ups looks scruffy.

The colours of the top really suit you. Do you have another pair of light trousers you could throw on with them instead?

Jerrybalanitis · 06/08/2026 16:04

I think you look great. I hate the top personally because its mumsy and frumpy but thats my taste. As an outfit and you, you look elegant and smart. But you have lost weight, you dont need fleurdy Boho mum shirts, try a nice fitted black t shirt, TH do a lovely one that is slightly longer length and fitted but heavy cotton which helps make it feel less revealing.

Legolaslady · 06/08/2026 16:11

I like the outfit overall but hate the trainers

Mounjaroversary · 06/08/2026 16:16

The top with straight slim legged cropped jeans and maybe some nice loafers would be lovely, not with these trousers unfortunately, the key is to have one element be structured, and because your top isn't your jeans should be.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 06/08/2026 16:31

Too much bagginess

Twodogsonthecouch · 06/08/2026 16:35

I think you might mean that in you opinion it’s mumsy and frumpy @Jerrybalanitis 😂.
To be fair to the top I think it might be me that, at 60 years of age and a mother of 4, is mumsy and frumpy, not the top which on someone younger, taller and slimmer would look a lot better
