I’ve had a bit of a spree at M&S and grabbed quite a few bits! Has anyone else picked up some bits?! Do share!

Not yes, but I’m scanning my favourite shops online.

Reapingintotheblye · 01/08/2026 15:46

Nice selection! I’m just looking now but will probably wait 6 weeks to see what else comes in.

I’m trying to keep it to a minimum because I know that by winter I’m going to be not feeling like dressing nicely at all. So some minimalist bits will hopefully do me

I’m also going to sew some chocolate brown satin trousers

My clothes for autumn and winter are currently in the loft. I will pick from them when summer ends.

Jumbojem · 01/08/2026 16:30

I got a teal merino cardigan in the Celtic & co sale, succumbed to an autumnal coloured shirt dress from them too while I was browsing.
Summer has been lovely but it will be nice to wear trousers and knitwear (been living in shorts, t-shirts and dresses for weeks now).
Autumn colours suit me, bright or pale summer colours do not so my summer wardrobe is a bit boring.

IDontHateRainbows · 01/08/2026 16:39

Bit too early for me. Will wait until September at least.

Kitchenbattle · 01/08/2026 16:43

Yes! I will show in a bit! So excited I love autumn

whatisforteamum · 01/08/2026 16:47

Yes I got black chinos from m and s.Started washing rust colored tops and got 3 lovely jumpers in the spring from last year's weird fish at vastly reduced prices.Bought suede boots ready and will probably get a padded jacket.
I will be 60 which is a good reason to reset my wardrobe.

henlake7 · 01/08/2026 17:17

well, I just bought a Lost Boys hoodie from Primark today that wont get worn til its colder.
I dont really do posh or grown up outfits!😆

nostylebutlotsofclothes · 01/08/2026 17:29

I also plan to make a skirt out of this material, which I’m hoping will be nice into the end of autumn

Nope! I bought some secondhand cashmere jumpers last year and intend to wear them every year until they fall apart.

Megsdaughter · 01/08/2026 17:43

Yes, Ive lost 8 stone in the last 15 months so nothing from last year will fit me so I have been hitting Vinted. Dont want new as Im hoping to lose another 2 stone although it has slowed down a lot.
Bought m&s jeans, three lovely jumpers, one french connection 2 monsoon.
A couple of button up cardigans from BHS and The Cotswold Collection and a lively psir of brown tweed trousers.
If they are to big next Autumn I will put them back on Vinted and go on another spree. 😁

Not yet but I had a look in H&M yesterday , they have loads of short sleeved thin knit jumpers in which are nice .
I don't wear wool by choice so I'm looking for thin cotton or acrylic .

I don't think I need anything this year .
I don't know what will be in the shops yet . Hopefully not wide legged trousers .

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 01/08/2026 18:01

Not yet. But our summer holiday is a week today. I’ve got to do one more shopping trip in the week for it (dc who have annoyingly broken their summer sandals and we really need something for the beach/by the pool!), and was going to have an eye out for autumnal things in the shops.

I’ve dumped out all the summery things in my vinted favourites- they wouldn’t arrive in time for holiday now anyway. Time to start looking for cashmere again!

Georgiemc · 01/08/2026 18:01

I picked up a new pair of jeans in the Net a Porter sale and a hoody in the END sale, ready for Autumn.

When I was in London I also got a cotton knit jumper in With Nothing Underneath. I have lost weight since last winter so buying when I see something I like

FancyBiscuitsLevel · 01/08/2026 18:02

For those who’ve started already, what colours are we looking at being everywhere this year? Is it another year with brown as the base, not grey or black?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/08/2026 18:39

I’ve got a previous season’s version of the Marks trench coat and love it. It’s been a brilliantly useful addition to my wardrobe. I’d really like a cropped version too.

I honestly need nothing at all except a new lightweight black jumper. I’d quite like a slouchy v neck grey jumper too, but since I’ve been looking for one unsuccessfully for several years, I’m not especially hopeful.

I’ve made some light weight denim wide legged trousers and some leopard print wideleg trousers that I’m hoping will both prove useful. I’ve bought some printed black and white viscose to make a midi dress and I’m looking for maybe a red or green print to make a dress (but not floral).

Hedjwitch · 01/08/2026 18:53

I like strong bright colours as I have snow white hair and I look washed out in pale colours. So far a cherry red cardigan in the Crew sale, and an emerald green jumper in a charity shop. Trousers from last year are all still good so dont need much.

SunnySunnyDayz · 01/08/2026 18:59

I find I forget what I own and end up with very similar pieces. But I mainly live in cashmere or merino jumpers so am looking for nwt ones on vinted, have bought 3 in more unusual colours.

I want more heavy jersey trousers.

Princessfluffy · 01/08/2026 20:25

I’ve bought a few things already - autumn is the best time of year to buy clothes for! I went down 3 dress sizes in autumn last year so all my clothes are less than a year old (except the ones I got from Vinted which is most of them lol). I do now have enough clothes but am still working out what suits my new body shape.

TheyGrewUp · 01/08/2026 20:30

Not intentionally but I happened upon a dark grey sweatshirt with a tie at the waist and gathered below. Not well explained. It was about two weeks ago in M&S, a bit different and a steal for £30. I hesitated but did, there was a whole rack, two or three of every size. They were all gone 24 hours later.

Not buying anything else until I've got a stone off.

Def chocolate brown again

I have developed a cashmere problem.. won’t wear anything else in winter.
