Haven't bought anything as gone through my wardrobe recently and there's no gaps. But, I do like that brown M&S sweater you've got.🤫

LOVE autumn/winter clothes - I’m Scottish so often summers are a bit of a washout and I don’t tend to buy much. I’m excited to get my knits out.

I’fe bought some black and cream Adidas Sambas, a chocolate brown sweatshirt from Oliver Bonas, and am waiting on some white jeans from Cos. (That sounds rogue but I like light denim in autumn!)

It’s so soft. It’s called air yarn, no idea what that means but I love the colour too. I’m thinking it’ll go lovely with the skirt I’m going to make

@cupfinalchaos- same! Vinted makes it cheaper to buy cashmere than new polyester jumpers from M&S! I’ve bought a few, but I have a green jumper gap in my wardrobe and possibly a light blue.

I need to do a check of them all soon, put them in a big plastic lidded box over summer so hopefully no moths have ruined them.

The other gaps I’ve got for autumn are smart work trousers in either chocolate brown or green, brown flat work shoes that I can actually walk in.

I bought a 90s (I think) black leather Hobbs coat on Vinted and I loveeeeee it.

Def chocolate brown again

Yes - also rust, orange, toffee type shades. Handy as they go with all the brown, black & navy already in our wardrobes.

A really strong, cobalt blue has been trying to make its way forward for a year. I really love this colour but can't see the market adopting it for winter - perhaps a more muted version? Joseph's showing a steely blue it calls 'mineral'.

Wouldn't it be great if Brits suddenly decided to wear intense reds, greens, blues & purples all winter! (What I really mean is: wouldn't it be fantastic to have such a brilliant excuse to buy lots of new clothes ...)

I’ve also picked up some really good cashmere deals when I’ve travelled with stuff in the sale if there’s a good exchange rate.

No, just looking at winter clothes makes me feel too hot.

Ipollita · 01/08/2026 21:40

I’m hankering after a slightly more elevated, better quality version of this

troppibambini6 · 01/08/2026 21:49

Yes. I’d absolutely had enough of my family last Saturday and was in a really grumpy pissed off mood so took myself off to the Trafford centre and bought lots of autumn bits.
Mainly jumpers, a few chunky brown and beigey colours and black and grey fine knits, a short sleeve beige one, also some grey balloon soft joggers, and some new ankle length loose jeans.
I want some new brown trainers I think.

I'm hankering to know what you mean to link! 😂

I've lost nearly 9 stone over the last 2 years so will need another new autumn wardrobe this year. I'm also starting a new job so will need some new clothes for my trips to HQ (will be deputy CEO so will need to look the part).

I've already picked up a couple of merino sweaters BNWT on vinted - a sort of greige colour, bright green, muted moss green and a warm bright pink (latter may end up relisted as I am not really a pink wearer). Also picked up a few work dresses (autograph, John Lewis and Hobbs) on Vinted, a couple of pairs of jersey trousers from Tu and a bargain pale grey cashmere jumper (steal at £19 in the sainsburys sale during the first heatwave).

Sainsburys are doing their viral kilt again but it's floor length on me. Shame because it's beautiful and a total bargain for the money.

I'm pondering some barrel jeans and a replacement navy M&S car coat in a smaller size (would be my third, it's a really useful piece for me).

I've also picked up a couple of pairs of mary jane flats too - silver and burgundy - and an orange cardigan, which is a fab accent colour for me..

I'd like a couple of casual dresses, maybe a denim and a cord one. I love wearing dresses with boots in the autumn.

There looks to be a lot of brown around and i am noting a shift from khaki to olive. Subtley different but works well for me.

Most importantly I've managed to find 4 BNWT heatgen thermal base layers over the summer on vinted. I need to be toasty when the weather changes!

I bet a Vinted search would come up trumps. It's lovely but even in their photo you can see that the material looks a bit thin and wrinkled.

Edited

Yeah, it’s obvious the quality is very poor and it’s 100% polyester! Oh I hadn’t thought of Vinted. Plumo have a couple of lovely ones but I’d rather not spend £300 if I can’t help it.

Zov · 01/08/2026 22:35

No. Because it's mid summer, and it's going to be 29C on Monday, and Autumn and Winter couldn't be further from my mind.

Although............. I have seen 'Autumn' and 'Halloween' stuff for sale in B & M, Poundstretcher, and Home bargains. On the 25th of July I started seeing this. FFS!

Perhaps this isn’t the thread for you then?

rockstarshoes · 01/08/2026 22:53

i’m still feeling too hot to be buying anything Autumnal and I have a holiday at the end of September and still need some bits for that.

rockstarshoes · 01/08/2026 22:54

I was in M&S earlier and saw some nice bits but all I bought was a pair of half price sandals!

Ooooooo the bitter chocolate sweater may have to come to mine!

FredaMountfitchet · 01/08/2026 23:11

Yes !
Some silky drawstring waist trousers to wear with a cashmere V neck in winter
Some Hoff trainers in sale
A denim blue jumper in sale .

SquirrelGG · 02/08/2026 01:51

It's still winter here!!! I just bought a sale price light denim colour quilted jacket, and also some burgundy Adidas Handball Spezials.

However I am longing to get into summer clothes, especially as it feels like spring here today.

whatisforteamum · 02/08/2026 06:10

Colours I'm going rust, berry red as proper burgundy is a bit draining.Bought black chinos but up for inspiration trousers wise as I'm nearly 60 and want an alternative to jeans.
I've got cords in black green and brown.

Floisme · 02/08/2026 06:19

I’ve bought a 1950s wiggle skirt, midi length, concealed back pleat for movement. Will wear with cowboy boots. Can’t wait.
