I’ve had a bit of a spree at M&S and grabbed quite a few bits! Has anyone else picked up some bits?! Do share!

I’m in Paris on holidays and I have gone a bit crazy in Sezane and Cyrillus 😅😅

I bought a navy wool wrap coat 50% off in the sales in June. I’m on the lookout for a nice navy wool jumper and a good suit now.

i’ve got sucked in! 🤣 I knew I shouldn’t have commented on this thread! I was feeling hot & grumpy (still am, it’s boiling here today) but I managed to buy 2 jumpers on Friday! 🙄
I’m retiring at the end of September so my clothing requirements are going to be a little different, I need to remember that!

I have just ordered the Tu kilt skirt which I don’t need oops took a punt as have had some real gems from Tu I fear this maybe very long though we shall see will report back, I do need some jumpers & would really like a good quality wool coat being petite the choice is usually quite sparse.

Just a jumper in my to order basket

I’m intrigued by the phrase “picking up some bits”. Why ‘bits’ to mean clothing? Without the photos, I would have guessed you were talking about seasonal home decor or stocking up on seasonal foods ahead of time.

Yes, some new straight leg black jeans, and a grey t-shirt/top from next. I much prefer autumn/winter clothes so I’m really tempted by lots of what’s coming in x

Stinkybooks · 10/08/2026 00:12

Whatever I wore last year and the years before that will do fine. No real need for anything new.

savemydrawers · 10/08/2026 00:16

I'm looking forward to clearing some of my winter coats, boots and other bits on Vinted then I may think about it .

Echointhedarkness · 10/08/2026 00:27

Loving the boots OP.

It’s just a colloquial British saying for when you’ve been shopping, usually for food or clothing, and you’ve bought random items. It would indicate that you didn’t buy an entire outfit or meal but just a few things.

Thank you, I’d not heard the expression before. I can’t remember the last time I shopped for a whole outfit so for me ‘picking up a few bits’ describes my normal clothes shopping. I would probably use it to mean buying underwear or socks.

Ive bought a monsoon purple jumper I will wear all the time in a sale 2 thirds off.
Baukjen cream cable oversize jumper half price in the sale.
Two jumpers off Brand Alley pricdd from £90 to 12.50 in sales, one pink and one grey.
All of them just below bum length not too long.
I also got some Baukjen Kimberley kick flare leggings apparently very flattering. They havent arrived yet.

Lucky you ive got three years to go. I wear uniform day to day so it will be lovely to wear my nice clothes everyday 😀

Orange merino sweater BNWT from Vinted arrived yesterday. Will work brilliantly with my olive barrel trousers, indigo barrel jeans and brown trousers. Orange is my best accent colour and I wear it all year round, although I guess it's more Autumn than any other season.

I ordered a gorgeous 98% wool cream bomber jacket in the JL sale but sadly it's too big so it's a return.

I am once again liking all the burgundy, but does anyone else find it difficult to style? Some of it is very red toned, some is veering towards brown and I just never seem able to make it work. I've got a couple of nice burgundy sweaters on my watch list but I can't decide if I should risk it or not.

I have developed a cashmere problem.. won’t wear anything else in winter.

I find since menopause I am far too hot in cashmere !

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 11/08/2026 09:24

i expect I’ll be digging out my cosy jeggings, docs and hoodies again 😂
