As promised, here is the new thread.

@ScottishMouse that must be so frustrating, it is a lovely top. @Theteapotsbrokenspout yes, they are lovely, so much nicer in real life than on the website.

I meant to say, I asked about the next drop and the sales assistant thinks it is this Thursday. She said there are a couple of pieces of knitwear in it, ie autumn clothes are coming.

mizu · 26/07/2026 21:13

Love those twisted seam jeans. And yes, Gwen makes every single thing she wears look effortlessly good.

ScallopShellWalk · 27/07/2026 20:08

I popped into the Hampstead shop today. I bought some silver earrings, the urchin ones that I’d been admiring and I bought a blue vest t shirt top that was a lovely blue, different from navy. I will likely go in again but I am not sure I want anything else. The shop looked lovely as always and the staff were lovely. (Lots of lovely’s)

IlovePond · 27/07/2026 20:17

I like those earrings @ScallopShellWalk - could you post a pic of them irl? Thanks

@ScallopShellWalk - thanks so much - those earrings are lovely. It’s so helpful to see a ‘real’ picture.

@ScallopShellWalk Lovely earrings, have to use the L word .
I had some of EN s silver hoops , Penzance , but lost one and still miss them .
After trying other makes from Toast which I also lost , I’ve settled on Georg Jensen as the catches are pretty idiotvproof.

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 29/07/2026 13:45

The new drop has arrived.

Bimblesalong · 29/07/2026 15:04

Thanks @Theteapotsbrokenspout some lovely things but fortunately for my pocket none catch my eye particularly (I’ve spent enough!). Lovely model but disappointing to see that those of us larger of nork are not represented - doesn’t help with imagining how the garments will look on.

Hi all, I wonder what everyone thinks of this - I was at one of the toast swap events yesterday in the kings road. There was a woman there who took lots of the clothes and is now selling them on the Facebook group. Is that quite cheeky or am I just bitter because she nabbed something which I would have liked to try (I left with nothing except another bit of yellow cardboard 😭). She’s selling it saying it’s too small for her. She’s selling a couple of recent blouses on there and I wonder if she went in to the exchange with the intention of doing that.

That’s rubbish but not a surprise.

It seems everyone is a rabid reseller these days. I can see why though, with vinted and ebay and marketplace its so easy and once the money starts coming in it must be tempting to get anything you can, however you can, to sell on.

ScottishMouse · 29/07/2026 16:36

I like the look of the new black sculpted trousers and jacket. Would need to see/feel the fabric irl though.
I also like the new small black Kate Sheridan bag. But the measurements look like it wouldn’t hold more than the small pop bag of hers I have from a few years back. I hardly use it because I need to carry just a little more than will fit in it. Does anyone have any good recs for a slightly bigger black (preferably leather but would consider other materials, though not suede) bag, simple design and not overly wide strap? Thanks.

Saurus72 · 29/07/2026 18:48

@ScottishMouse I have a Francis bag from Mimi Berry that I really love. The leather is v good quality and it’s a perfect size for me for phone/cardholder/make up/keys/snack etc etc. Generally a v big fan of Mimi Berry.

ScottishMouse · 29/07/2026 19:47

Me too @Saurus72, I have one of her phone pouches which is great. A lot of her bags seem similar in size to a lot of the Kate Sheridan ones, perfect for phone, keys, purse, but I need to carry some meds and other things so I need a little more space. I often end up with a big tote though as it’s hard to find something in between that isn’t too heavy if it is worn cross-body (also I hate the boob separation of a cross-body bag when wearing just light layers in summer). I do also love my very lightweight ubiquitous Uniqlo bag which fits so much more than you’d think, but it’s not terribly exciting or pretty. I’d love to be in London where I could go to Mimi Berry & Kate Sheridan and have a proper look, it’s hard to judge online.

CakeAndJazz · 29/07/2026 20:15

@ScottishMouse have you come across mhulot before? I’ve wanted their Hilda bag for so long, but might be worth having a look to see if there might be another style you prefer.

ScottishMouse · 29/07/2026 20:32

Oh yes, I have @CakeAndJazz but had forgotten about that brand. I’ll have another look, thanks.

OrangeyLemon · 30/07/2026 09:49

I was just thinking this morning that even if my Kindred does renew, it won't next year because I really have enough clothes now blah blah blah. Looking at the new drop this morning my mouth is watering and now I'm reminding myself that lovely clothes are my hobby, and telling myself that nice clothes affect my mood etc etc etc Hopefully when I go into the shop things won't look as good in the flesh, but I usually find that things look and feel even better than I expected

ScottishMouse · 30/07/2026 11:08

I’m the opposite @OrangeyLemon! I often like way more online than I do when I see and feel the items. I have just been to my local store to have a look at the new things on my way to an appointment. Tried a few things - The striped Donegal buttoned tank isn’t really striped to my eye but more of a check, and I didn’t like it on, the pattern was too much on me.
The sculpted leg brushed cotton canvas trousers are quite big and I only had time to try my usual size. They are also long on me so the nice shape at the bottom would be lost. Not sure what the “brushed” refers to though, they are a denim weight fabric, no brushing to be seen, true black though which is rare for Toast. I might try again in the size down.
The matching jacket is lovely. I tried my usual size and it seemed large around the arms but that is the style. I will definitely try this again with more layers underneath.
I liked the French knot shirt online but I really didn’t like the “knots” in person. Also very pricey for a white shirt.
Other things which looked lovely if not for me were the new red and blue colours in the Eden cardigan, the harvest print skirt, the cotton silk check skirt & shirt, and the boiled wool check scarf which looks more orange in real life.
Nothing to fill the wardrobe gaps I have, but would consider the black sculpted trousers and jacket as very useful pieces. Looking forward to hear what others think about the new things.

ScottishMouse · 30/07/2026 11:14

For those who like Sideline, I see that their AW collection launched this morning. I was sad to see no Billy trousers, they are my fave. Learning to admire the colours and patterns without feeling the need to purchase, as I know I don’t actually wear them.

ScallopShellWalk · 30/07/2026 11:29

I went into the Hampstead branch again and will be passing today but likely won’t go in.
I like the black linen long sleeved top but it’s too warm to wear now and I don’t think I’ll want linen after the summer. I like the checked waxed tote bag it’s not too big. I almost bought it but in the end I got another vest top in the cream colour and stopped at that.
The black denim/canvas (I can’t remember) jacket looked really nice but as I have a black toast linen jacket at home, though it is very lightweight, I didn’t seriously look at it. I may look today.

ShadowViolet · 30/07/2026 11:42

I’m seeing a lot of things I like.

Boatnecks really suit me and they’re well represented in this drop. I also love that corn dolly twill shirt in slate, but fortunately for me I’m already a little annoyed with the pattern placement. For the price, I’d really want it to be more symmetrical/ better thought out.

I think I’m going to have a long hard think about what the actual gaps are in my wardrobe and work from there, I’m sure Toast will keep churning out lovely clothes, so it’s more about what I actually need/ what adds something new. On that basis, I did order the Alba bronze crown bangle this morning. I hardly ever buy jewellery, but that bangle looks like it will add something interesting to my autumn wardrobe. Fingers crossed it lives up to my expectations.

Saurus72 · 30/07/2026 12:05

The only thing I want is the wool cashmere wrap in peacock. I have one in khaki which I love and wear loads. I love the peacock colour, and I don’t care that it’s so expensive because it’s so beautiful!

faustina · 30/07/2026 13:01

I've wishlisted the Alba ring (do I need another ring? NO) - also that check bag and the brushed cotton canvas jacket in black (having already bought two new jackets in the past month). I wish the matching trousers were also in the brown colour they offer for the jacket. The first pic looks drab, but the one where the model is wearing it really glows

@OrangeyLemon I'm also not sure I actually need anything but I find it really hard to buy autumn things when it's so hot

ScottishMouse · 30/07/2026 13:06

I’m having the same thought about the jacket @faustina…do I need it given that I have bought two jackets this season? But I find jackets tricky as they are often too neat across the shoulders and this definitely wasn’t. Plus my black jacket is my most worn but it is poplin so not for cooler weather.
It has cooled down a little here in Scotland and I am excited for knitwear, and especially scarves. I really miss scarves in the summer. Roll on autumn, I am done with the heat.

faustina · 30/07/2026 13:10

I have the same problem with Toast jackets @ScottishMouse - they tend to be really narrow at the shoulders so you either have one that's slightly tight there but fits everywhere else or something too big all over (but not in a good way)

Does anyone else subscribe to Angharad Best Jones? There was a really interesting email from her this morning about the best places to buy oversized clothes - some good links in it!

ScottishMouse · 30/07/2026 13:15

Yes I do @faustina and saw the link. Haven’t had a chance to take a proper look yet but I will later.
