I bought the Lia t shirt in the new terracotta as I get so much wear out of these and I like the boatneck too , otherwise not tempted by much again.
I’ve put the crinkle skirt and what appears to be a toning jumper on my wish list but not sure I’ll actually buy it at any point.
The peacock wrap looks lovely @Saurus72 . Wondering how the colour looks in real life.
I like this https://www.toa.st/products/embroidered-sleeve-cotton-satin-top-natural but it’s too spendy atm and I’m not sure what I could actually do in it with those sleeves.

I’m in Brighton for a few days and obviously made a bee line for the Toast shop .
I tried on the wide pull on denim trousers in a bigger size than pictured up thread . Too big , some olive culottes - didn’t suit . The ikat summer dress - loved this , despite not thinking I’d like this, it was my favourite thing , also considering the same style in green check which was cheaper . I tried the slate pleated poplin skirt size M was way too roomy and probably too long . The barrel linen stripe I like but they didn’t have my size. The staff were so lovely, my favourite so far !

I know there’s been talk of Edinburgh staff not being friendly , I kind of know what you mean , I bought a really expensive coat in January and got charged for the paper bag , 🤔 given I’d have been eligible for free postage if I’d bought it online it was strange . A more recent visit they were lovely , but I was wearing a toast dress , I don’t know if that makes a difference .

@triggers34 I looked and I think you’re right. They don’t need to for paper. The toast in Hampstead didn’t charge me for a paper bag but every other shop I bought something in did.

I have been given a paper bag in a couple of the London Toast shops @triggers34 . I’m not sure what it depends on. Marks and Spencer paper bags are 40p here. I resent paying for a paper bag if I’ve bought an expensive bit of clothing.

I thought the rules for bags were pretty much the same in Scotland as they are in Wales - you pay for a bag regardless of the material it’s made from, as the production and recycling of any bag carries an environmental cost.

I do get that if you spent £££ on items that would really benefit from some protection when taken out of the shop, it seems crazy that you need to pay for that. But as a general rule, it makes more sense to me than excluding certain types of single use bags.

If I remember correctly that’s what happened in England and paper bags don’t carry a mandatory charge, but some retailers choose to charge a fee - in M&S’s case that’s donated to a charity (optional in England, mandatory in Wales). I imagine M&S do this as it’s the easiest way to deal with the different rules in Scotland, England and Wales as I see little evidence in their shops that they really take waste seriously. Just a lot of greenwashing…

@triggers34 yes, @ShadowViolet is right to point out that in that Scotland there is to be a charge even if paper. In England it seems to be plastic that is specified for a charge. It’s interesting, I didn’t know this. I can’t open the government website right now for Wales though @ShadowViolet mentioned Wales too. I’ll look later. Northern Ireland charges for paper too.

I recently bought pjs on reworn and they look like new as most does from reworn, slightly tight I noticed but I’m keeping them as they are so nice and they are light for summer. Today I ordered a reworn night dress in a print I really like, Dalia, in a size larger than my usual, as if it too is slightly neat then it may fit fine. Yesterday I bought a washed black Noelle dress from reworn and today I couldn’t resist a blue Lydia from reworn. I so liked the jersey washed black shorts jumpsuit that I bought in the sale that I’m thinking these will be used well. They are great to wear around the house. I’m back home in Scotland from my london trip and missing wearing my lovely clothes for the hot weather, though I’m persevering today with a vest top. I’m pretty sure that’s drizzle I see out the window.

Sounds lovely @ScallopShellWalk . I’m going up North today for a holiday. It seems weird to be having to think about packing rainwear and knitwear when I am currently boiling only 200 miles south!

I shall be visiting the York and Harrogate shops, so will report back.

I ordered the Baya shirt, after seeing it on the live, to wear with the denim culottes. I am really pleased with it. It’s quite a flattering pairing, better than I imagined, and the shirt looks fresh and crisp.

I also ordered the Corn Dolly shirt in black, and like this. The pattern is striking, and I like the retro cut on collar. Makes a change from Gaia. I don’t think it works for me worn loose though.

We were recently given notice at work about an organisational restructure, so there’s a chance I could be made redundant. This doesn’t particularly bother me and will just mean that I retire a couple of years earlier than planned. It will mean that I will need to think about what I buy as won’t need work clothes. I do wear a lot of Toast to work, but I think most of it is multifunctional. I should still plenty of opportunity to wear the new shirts. I have just returned part of my Brora order though as I probably won’t need it!

@ScallopShellWalk - there are some real treasures on Reworn - also some which aren't, but at least you can return them

I bought the black sculpted jacket today. It’s lovely and will be very useful in autumn, it’s still a bit warm for it at the moment and it looks better with some layers underneath.
I tried the matching trousers again but they aren’t a good fit for me. I also tried the fine cotton wool cardigan and sweater in brown but the colour did nothing for me and I found the fabric quite scratchy. I had a good look at all the new things again but there is nothing else for me. I really need some dark (black/navy/charcoal) tops and sweaters/cardis so I am saving my pennies and hoping some show up next drop.

Oh I know what you mean @IlovePond drove up to Edinburgh today from down south and oh my the difference! I have been living in linen dresses for months and could barely look at jeans and jumpers yesterday while thinking about what to pack. Now here and wishing I’d brought even warmer clothes than I have!

@MsDastardley you got me thinking about my work clothes and how my wardrobe will definitely change when I retire (a while yet for me though!)

@ScottishMouse im pleased you got a black jacket at last and I really like that jacket too. I didn’t try it on but I will if I get a chance.

@mizu the temperature is quite noticeable isn’t it? Especially on the first day.

@mizu @ScallopShellWalk i am loving the drop in temperature up here in the last few days. Browsing autumn knitwear and even putting on a cardi to have my morning cuppa in the garden. My favourite to me of year is on the way!!

I got my kindred renewal email this morning. Although I was sure I was a Jan/feb renewal 🤷‍♀️ Hope everyone waiting for one got one too.

My overdyed kantha jacket has come into its own the last couple of days. I’ve been wearing it as a lounge jacket when I need a layer, rather than a cardigan. I really like it this way. It wasn’t getting used outside unless just for an errand as it’s so light. Works well with my linen and cotton clothes.

@ScottishMouse I'm really tempted by the black sculpted jacket but I’m not sure how useful a collarless jacket will be.
Also pleased to get my kindred renewal this morning.

Received a kindred email this morning- first time for me and a clear indication that I have spent too much money! So much loveliness in the latest drop.
Dd is heading back to Bath to sort out her uni flat next weekend so will have a little mooch around Kilver Court. The cafe is lovely so it’s an ideal place to break the journey (not that it’s that far) but will need to balance mooching time with weekend traffic chaos in Devon.
