Have toast changed their sizes does anyone think or am I in denial abput the size of my post partum breastfeeding body? I keep finding my usual size is now not fitting the way I like toast things to fit (but the next size up is too much material/frumpalump)

Trinitybean · 29/09/2026 21:33

thanks @IlovePond and now I want that lovely blue dress too even though blue is not my colour.

IlovePond · 30/09/2026 12:22

I’m sure you would look lovely in blue @Trinitybean - it’s a nice dress.

Meanwhile I am pondering trying to order a smaller size in the fruit dress!

New things the website (just in each relevant product section eg dresses). The only thing I have my eye on is the mulberry Blundstone boots.

VivienneDelacroix · 30/09/2026 20:09

I have the fish dress @BettinaInDenmark - it is stunning, but it has been quite hard to find the right occasion to wear it. I wore it to the theatre on a hot day in the summer, but that's all so far. It's a bit tricky bra-wise too as the neckline and straps really need a strapless one, but I struggle with strapless bras.

Countmeout · 01/10/2026 09:41

@hicat I think the sizes are as muddled as ever. I have found jersey items - t shirts for instance are smaller than before. Everything else is as usual guess work. The waists of skirts seem to have shrunk. I don’t think I have bought trousers this year. The length of some dresses seem to be ridiculously long. I remember the difficulty dressing when I had just had a baby (a very long time ago) It was getting something that I could easily access to feed was my overriding memory. But my bust has increased too . That made it tricky at times.

The new items are disappointing again , I liked the print Baya shirt but it is lyocell and I am not buying lyocell.

I have recently bought cord balloon trousers from Sahara which are a colour I wanted. The material is good(cotton) my guess at sizing was good. Came in a box. My only gripe would be the cost if you needed to return, luckily I didn’t.

My only sale purchase was a nightdress which was successful.

What does everyone else think of the new drop?

hicat · 01/10/2026 12:24

Oh funny you mention jersey @Countmeout as it’s mainly the jersey tshirt I was surprised about, the medium is v baggy (and yes perfect for BFing!) but the small was tight even on my shoulders. I am currently feeding but the non sale jersey button up stripe top has just arrived and has been placed on the couch next to me ready to investigate! I’m wishing i ordered medium before I even open it though. Gonna have a dangerous browse through the new things on toast.

p.s can you tell me why lyocell is bad? I had a quick google, is it the energy it takes to make or that it might lose shape? I’ve seen the fabric pop up in M&S too, but bought partner a toast lyocell “nice” shirt and quite like it for him.

hicat · 01/10/2026 12:42

Oh dear, having now looked through the new drop (I like the pockets scarf and I’m a hat fiend so the sheepskin hat!) I spotted the conservatoire coat. V spenny but I’ve wanted a wool coat for years and it sure looks good. Would it ever go on sale does anyone think? Does anyone have it? Reviews mostly negative on buttons falling off and toast packaging but it seems the quality otherwise is good. Oh dear oh dear. How much can I resell of what I have to allow it…

Theteapotsbrokenspout · 01/10/2026 13:30

After an awful day at work yesterday I consoled myself by purchasing this nightshirt late last night. I don’t think there’s much else for me in the new drop. I don’t like lyocell either, I much prefer the feel of cotton.

@hicat I dislike lyocell because it often looks and feels so shiny and synthetic. I am also appalled that Toast feels they can charge astronomical prices for fabric that looks and feels so cheap.

When I opened the crockery dress I genuinely thought at first glance that I had been sent some kind of Shein knockoff by mistake. It was such a shame as I liked the pattern and it really suited me. The neck didn’t sit right on one of the crossover sections, either - but I wasn’t going to start trying to alter a synthetic dress. (Made in China too and no doubt cost Toast a fiver per item.)

I like a few things from the new drop, but will realistically not suit any of them.
The quilted sleeveless jacket is just my kind of thing but why is it so long? Who does that work for? Not me, that’s for sure.
The mohair rounded sweater looks good though the colour will likely not work for me. If it was navy I’d be rushing to a shop to try it.
The dark grey alpaca wrap cardi is very much the style I would have if I was not constantly trying to hide my menopausal middle.
However, scarves are my whole aw personality, and I love the look of the persimmon colour in the large triangle scarf. I don’t need it, but if it is as bright and as orangey red as it looks on my screen, I may have to sell some less worn scarves in order to purchase it.

ShadowViolet · 01/10/2026 15:08

I love the look of that boiled wool cocoon coat, but suspect that those sleeves would be too short on my gibbon like arms. Just as well as I really don't need another coat.

The Cable Knit Donegal Scarf is nice. I'd be tempted if it were a different colour. As it is, I'm more tempted to dust off my knitting needles and make myself something similar. I do love a chunky scarf.

hicat · 01/10/2026 17:04

Ooo @Theteapotsbrokenspout i looked at the solstice PJs and dressingown with longing. Enjoy! And thanks for the thoughts on lyocell all!

MsDastardley · 01/10/2026 18:14

There’s nothing for me in latest drop 😥. I quite like the padded jacket, but have recently got one from Finisterre so don’t need another. I don’t mind the Folk Vine dress but won’t have occasion to wear now. Hopefully I can save some money this month!

@Saurus72 Finisterre are doing a collab with Blundstone. No idea what they are like but should be released soon.

Saurus72 · 01/10/2026 18:51

@MsDastardley Thanks yes I got the email and signed up be be notified of the drop. Interesting to see how they compare to the Toast ones. They’re a current obsession - quite sudden. We recently moved and I just think they’re going to be perfect for kicking around at weekends.

Have just bought some knee boots from Jaeger and a dress and blouse Indi & Cold in Spain, I’m so pleased with these 3 purchases!

faustina · 01/10/2026 19:24

I like the trousers that the model in the mohair rounded sweater is wearing, but there's no link for them. Maybe they'll come in the next drop?

Also like the persimmon bandana but I don't have a space for another scarf.
This is a very sweet little pair of socks though

@hicatjust looked at that coat. Definitely my kind of coat, gorgeous. If I sold the 4 TOAST jumpers I had……

Did anyone else see this on Instagram?

The sprig jacquard lofty alpaca jumper looks very, very nice.

ShanghaiDiva · 02/10/2026 18:21

Love the pocket wool scarf, but I already have multiple scarves and really don’t need another, but may persuade darling daughter to knot it for me.
Also love the cotton satin smocked skirt (not this drop), but dry clean only and at £235 I don’t want to risk handwashing.

Countmeout · 02/10/2026 19:35

I have the conservatoire coat @hicat . I love it, I will wear it forever. It’s very oversized though I bought S/M and possibly could have gone smaller but baulked the thought of paying twice while I decided so kept it. It’s such a comforting coat.
I bought lyocell trousers in M and S some years ago and a linen lyocell lightweight long jacket/ coat from Zara. Both went patchy when washed. I ordered the Toast crockery shirt without reading the fabric composition and hated the feel of it. It felt clammy.

I love those wee socks @faustina .

After another look around the new drop I like the geo gown, but I do not need a gown. If it ever reaches sale though I might be tempted.

triggers34 · 03/10/2026 07:39

From the new drop I like the pocket wool scarf - might have a go at knitting one . I also like the blundstone boots but found a pretty good dupe in Aldi of all places - they’re water proof really comfortable and were £15 !
I’ll attach a picture

Nothungrycat · 03/10/2026 08:38

I ordered three items in the sale, and the first (t-shirt) was cancelled before I'd paid. I was then refunded for the second (front button, long sleeve t-shirt). This left the final item, the japanese denim culottes. When they hadn't turned up by yesterday I emailed Customer Services who replied "Unfortunately, due to an overselling issue within our warehouse, some items became unavailable after your order was placed and had to be cancelled. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment and inconvenience this may cause." So basically, they've been sitting on my order for a week! Not impressed.

Bimblesalong · 03/10/2026 10:42

Here are my Lanx boots and hand knit fairisle socks for the pp!

faustina · 03/10/2026 10:46

@Nothungrycat - terrible that they've cancelled all of the things you ordered! If you can bear it, it might be worth asking if they've had returns by now? I sent back the long sleeve button up tee in a S and the mango stripe tee in XS

@triggers34 - The Aldi middle aisle is a place of wonder - that's a real bargain!

Gelsomino · 03/10/2026 11:10

Oh gosh a few expensive things I like

The Alpaca Jumper
The Quilted Freya Dress
The Macro check Freya Dress
The Annie Cords-both colours
Numerous scarves but particularly the pocket one -could knit this though
I have Lapuan shawl with pockets and its terrifically useful

Anyone seen the Quilted Freya dress in RL?
