@Delara thanks, I may well give Vinted a go.

I have sold a few Toast items on eBay over the last month but I did price them to get rid of. Nothing more than £30 because although in great condition they were a couple of years old and I wasn’t wearing them - I just wanted to clear some space! Other brands from my clear out haven’t sold as easily.

I had a dress sitting on eBay for a couple of months loads of watchers . I moved it to Vinted yesterday and it sold within hours !

Having just sent 3 cotton shirts back to toast I’ve been considering the heaviness of the fabric. I recently bought a different brand (expensive though secondhand) shirt and it’s very lightweight in comparison. With this lighter weight it fits under jumpers without bunching anywhere. I like the fabric of toast being substantial but perhaps not in the shirts for wearing under jumpers, by themselves they are great and keep me warm. The linen shirt is lighter. Perhaps toast do other finer shirts? Can anyone comment? I’m reluctant now to buy a shirt from toast, or anyone, without seeing how the fabric works in layers.

@MsDastardley The denim skirt in a 14 is a much better fit, as it’s looser it sits lower towards my hips and the length looks better as well. No moving buttons necessary - a win all round.

I'm an avid user of Vinted for selling and buying. The Toast items fly - selling very quickly and I usually get a very good price.

Personally never go on ebay as its so clunky
Vinted is a bit slow as its been the summer holidays, it will ramp up again
I have had a huge wardroble clearout mostly Toast and mostly unworn

I live very close to the Harrogate shop and therefore not too far from the York one. Harrogate is a good size single storey shop, with a men’s shop next door. York is pretty tiny but on two floors and stock is packed in more tightly. Both are good and probably have a similar amount of stock. There is a sewing machine set up in the Harrogate store so I assume they do repairs/alterations. Both are in very lovely areas, Harrogate has parking right outside (if you’re lucky) York is in a pedestrianised area

No they dont bag for me, however there was another poster who found the Annies bagged but they never have on me
In short I think it depends on how your knees are shaped , mine are flat

Thanks @Gelsomino that’s useful. The Annie’s bagged really bad on me, but never had a problem with other jeans. I don’t know how I would describe my knees 😁

I’ve decided to keep the thistle linen shirt. I have put it together with a navy full skirt and I feel very swishy. Together with the cosy underskirt and I’m feeling comfy and warm. I’m finding amusement in a sense of lives long past, I’m loving picking up the skirts to get around the house. Actually now I suddenly feel too hot.

By coincidence, I'm also wearing the Thistle shirt today. I had to go for a blood test earlier and realised it's the only thing I have that is actually short sleeved. If Toast repeat it in a different colour next year, I may have to snap it up.

I caved today and ordered the Orla jumper in that new pinky clay colour. I think there's a fair chance the colour won't suit me, but I won't know unless I try. I can definitely use another Orla jumper in my life, as I wore the two I already have pretty much on rotation from October to May this year. It would be nice to add a third.

That pink colour is lovely @ShadowViolet I wish I could wear the Orla style but it and the similar linen/cotton sweater are just the wrong shape for me. I am enjoying wearing a very old Toast sweater today, hoping proper autumn hurries up so I can wear a sweater every day.

I’d like some new footwear, but have very tricky feet. In summer I have been wearing Birkenstocks, and in winter I wear Blundstone boots. I am not.a “shoe person”, so am pretty happy to have just one or two pairs at any one time, but I would like something that transitions from sandals to boots. I’m not a big fan of trainers but I need something that has reasonable support, works for wide feet, and can withstand a lot of Edinburgh footpath & cobble stomping. What do you all wear in these in between seasons? Thanks.

@ShadowViolet the Orla jumper is very nice. That colour looks good enough to eat. I don’t have an orla jumper but don’t want to buy another knit just yet. I hope it suits you and you can enjoy it. Please feed back if it suits.

@ScottishMouse I have been wearing the fracap postman shoes from last year. I’ve worn them plenty times in Edinburgh, cobbles, wet and shine. Must add though that I went over my ankle in these a few days ago on an Edinburgh uneven pavement. I wouldn’t have done that in barefoot shoes but I don’t want to always be wearing barefoot shoes, so it’s a risk. I’m not sure if the postman shoes are wide but they are lace up and I have to over tighten them to fit, might also explain going over on an ankle if they are perhaps a bit wide for me.

Thanks for replying @ScallopShellWalk I like the look of the postman shoes, and also the solovair monk shoes but I don’t think they would work with all of my clothes and I need something that will work universally. I also think they will not be for me because of what you said about your ankle. I have one very weak ankle from years of hypermobility and having sprained it now three times and it cannot be trusted in shoes like that. Maybe sandals straight to boots is the way to go, the transitional period is probably only a few weeks long anyway! I have this issue every year and every year I think I will become someone who wear socks with my Birkenstocks for the in between period, but I can’t quite do it.

@ScottishMouse I’d say go straight to boots. I bought fracap navy ankle boots on reworn last year and I wear them more than the postman shoes in the same weather and time of year. I previously had a pair of trippen high calf length boots, simply designed and zero drop. My feet grew and I have been looking for something to replace them. In the past I wore these every winter with everything. I got them resoled and the lining patched and had them for decades and they looked great. Miss them. Boo hoo. How can it be so hard to find boots? I’d say enjoy your boots.

I'm another happy owner of last year's Fracap Postman's Shoes, but it doesn't sound like those would work for you @ScottishMouse . I wear trainers a fair bit too, but it can be tricky to find ones that work with my foot shape as my toes are very square. Fracap seems to work well for that shape, with a fair bit of room in the toe box.

I don't think there's anything wrong with going from sandals straight to boots either. I've been known to wear my sandals long into autumn. I take it that options like Birkenstock Boston or Birkenstock London wouldn't work well for your feet either?

I do have a pair of Bostons @ShadowViolet but I find them hard to wear for long periods as I have limited grip in my toes. I’ve never tried the London style, and I see that there is also Tokio which is the same as Boston but with an ankle strap. I would try those but they only seem to be available with the original footbed, and I need the soft footbed for my fussy feet. I could definitely wear boots today up here though, it is cold and wet and grey.

Has anyone noticed that reviews have disappeared on Toast’s website? I feel like this happened previously, though I personally could still see them then. I haven’t changed how I am accessing the website, any ideas?
