No of course you wouldn’t look ridiculous, I’m a former size 22 and I say wear whatever makes you happy!!

Amiacoolorwarmcolour · 27/06/2026 17:51

Nice dress.

NeededANameChangeAnyway · 27/06/2026 17:52

That's a lovely dress! Life is too short to worry about what other people think, if you think you look good in it, wear it! If you try it on and you don't like it, don't wear it. Make the decision based on how you feel rather than what you think other people will think.

My DM is terrible for this, she won't go for a walk now the dog isn't able because she worries people will think she is weird for going for a walk without a dog.

Do. What. You. Want.!!!

Bristolandlazy · 27/06/2026 17:53

Why would you look ridiculous? It's cotton, if you like it go for it. It's got good reviews.

Gettingbysomehow · 27/06/2026 17:58

I think it depends on what shape you are. Im size 10 and Im eyeing up that waistline because I know it wouldnt suit my shape.
I think you would have to try it on and see if its a shape that suits you. It doesnt matter what size you are.
I think the neck line and collar is very flattering. Its a pretty dress.

Judging · 27/06/2026 18:00

I can’t see anything ridiculous about it.

MummyWillow1 · 27/06/2026 18:02

It looks lovely.

Why would it look ridiculous? It is a lovely dress on a human woman, I assume you are also a human?

LoserWinner · 27/06/2026 18:05

Cotton? Will need ironing. I wouldn’t want it for that reas…

hatunacucumber · 27/06/2026 18:06

Personally, as a short size 18-20, I wouldn’t wear it because I care about clothing being flattering and I don’t think the cut, pattern or length would do anything for me. However, all bodies and preferences are different, so do what you like!

FWC2026 · 27/06/2026 18:07

What the others have said, it's about how you feel in it!

Its A nice dress.

it wouldn't suit me because I'm a) busty and most dresses make me look matronly, but that style especially B) I have a big tummy and most dresses make me look like a side lamp

but that's shape not size

try it on & see how you think you look/feel.

i have to go by 'look' in the mirror. Because. I love the way dresses feel! But knowing how dreadful they look I just can't bring myself to wear them.

ShanghaiDiva · 27/06/2026 18:08

IMO you would certainly not look ridiculous.

That's true too 🤣🤣

though I tend to find if you don't iron things from new &hang them out nicely!! to dry as soon as the washing machine stops, nothing really needs ironing!

suburburban · 27/06/2026 18:33

Looks very nice, always pleased with Seasalt stuff

Purplecatshopaholic · 27/06/2026 18:39

It’s a perfectly fine dress, not sure why you would look ridiculous. Try it on and see how you feel in it. If it’s flattering go for it.

All natural fibres look better ironed. But a shake when it's dry and careful folding and hanging mean you can probably get away without doing it. A summer dress needs to be a natural fibre, really.

Seasalt dresses are well made. Somehow, they don't quite suit my shape but they are good quality.

StationJack · 27/06/2026 18:40

It's really nice. I like the red one too.

dudsville · 27/06/2026 18:41

I used to love those seasalt fit and flare dresses! Great choice OP.

HewasH2O · 27/06/2026 18:43

I live in Seasalt dresses. Never ironed a thing. Their returns are very straight forward too.

DistantEarlyWarning · 27/06/2026 19:02

I have it in a different colour. I’m a short size 10 pear and it’s a bit 1950s - loads of material - but it feels good on. Try it?

mateysmum · 27/06/2026 19:09

I have just bought precisely that dress in a 14. Haven't worn it out yet, but it is a lovely style. I'm quite well endowed and it is a snug fit on top, but I love the pockets and the flared skirt - great to wear for a big meal out - and you can dress it up or down.
Seasalt do free returns, so you might as well order it and see how it looks on you

bridgetreilly · 27/06/2026 19:10

It’s a dress that would look great on a pear or hourglass and less so on an apple, imo. But that’s about shape not size.

faithfultoGeorgeMichael · 27/06/2026 19:12

Its a lovely dress, get it on you OP!

Blanknotebook · 27/06/2026 19:13

I bought a Charlotte Seasalt dress a few years ago. During the heatwave I started wearing dresses again and I found my Charlotte dress in the back of my spare wardrobe. I love it. It washes and irons easily. It has lovely side pockets. It is very comfortable and I’m sure that you would look lovely in it. When I was ironing it I noticed a little label stitched inside that said “You look lovely today!” It’s one of the nice little touches that you find in Seasalt clothing.

Soupdragon41 · 27/06/2026 19:14

I’m a size 26 and worn similar styles from Seasalt. I think it would be very flattering

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 27/06/2026 19:14

It’s a lovely dress - go for it!
